Exclusive: Supernatural Hunk Calls Off Engagement

Jared Padalecki won't be walking down the aisle anytime soon!

Star has learned exclusively that in early June the Supernatural star called off his engagement with his longtime girlfriend actress Sandra McCoy. The two became engaged in March.

"Now that Jared is starring in his first big film —the horror movie Friday the 13th — he's starting to see that his career could really take off and he doesn't want a wife to hold him back from becoming a major star," an insider tells Star. "It's as simple as that."

"He's really ambitious and wants to be very successful. He's been telling everyone, 'There's more to life than relationships and I want to be single.'"

The news came as a shock to Sandra, says the source, who now has to move out of Jared's L.A. house, where she has been residing for the past year.

"Sandra is devastated," says the source. "She really didn't see it coming. She has to start her whole life over again because she was always so focused on Jared. He was her world."

that i think is just a slight bend to whatever happened. i kinda figured if they broke it off it was something about how they were never really together, what with jared doing supernatural and then doing movies on his breaks.

i don't think he broke up with her just because of her career, but i can see them talking about it and deciding that the timing wasn't right or..whatever.

Yeah, there have been rumors floating around that Jared was sleeping with strippers and cocktail waitresses while down in Austin. Then, when the engagement was called off, some people were saying that was the reason.

"Sources" for magazines like The Star are housekeepers, maids, roommates, ex-friends, co-workers, people who see them on a regular basis or see them behaving badly just once (retail workers, flight attendants, waiters, etc.)

When I was a flight attendant I knew people who sent in tips to The National Enquirer or The Star to make extra money when they saw celebrities acting very badly on planes. I do not have a problem with that if the information is accurate and true, not false. (Get me to tell you my Stephen Baldwin story next time I see you. What an asshole. This was of course before he found Jesus. *g*)

As for Jared, I find the idea he left Sandy because he's going to be a 'big movie star' now to be ridiculous. You don't leave someone after 5 years for that reason. I find the cheating angle more plausible (not saying it's true, just more believable). But as I have said previously I think all will be revealed in the next couple of months.

As for Jared going out after Sandy and he broke up in Austin to a strip club, that doesn't bother me. He's a guy, men do things like that after a break up. I should know I used to date a stripper. *g*
