I really hate to see stuff like this printed and I'd like to know who this "inside source" is, because there's no way in hell I see Jared acting like this.

Exclusive: Supernatural Hunk Calls Off Engagement

Jared Padalecki won't be walking down the aisle anytime soon!

Star has learned exclusively that in early June the Supernatural star called off his engagement with his longtime girlfriend actress Sandra McCoy. The two became engaged in March.

"Now that Jared is starring in his first big film —the horror movie Friday the 13th — he's starting to see that his career could really take off and he doesn't want a wife to hold him back from becoming a major star," an insider tells Star. "It's as simple as that."

"He's really ambitious and wants to be very successful. He's been telling everyone, 'There's more to life than relationships and I want to be single.'"

The news came as a shock to Sandra, says the source, who now has to move out of Jared's L.A. house, where she has been residing for the past year.

"Sandra is devastated," says the source. "She really didn't see it coming. She has to start her whole life over again because she was always so focused on Jared. He was her world."

There was already crap like this on TWoP, IMDb and ONTD, which is why Jared made his announcement, I think. It kills me that after he did that, which had to be very painful, this kind of shit is still going on.

Besides the fact that none of that even sounds vaguely like Jared, and Friday the 13th is hardly some HUGE movie, Jared already SOLD his LA house LAST YEAR before he bought the Vancouver house!

Isn't it ridiculous? And what's the point?? What is this "source" getting out of it? Revenge against Jared for some reason? It just makes absolutely no sense to me and it hurts to see Jared talked about like this.

I know, I don't get it either! How does this help anyone? I guess it gets more hits to The Star's site, but big deal! It's not like we're paying to click on the site. Maybe, eventually they could get more advertisers to pay them to put ads on their site, based on how many hits it gets, but that is a long shot. And if they want to do that, why not make up stories about Shia LeBeuf or Ben Barnes or the High School Musical kid? Not to dis Jared, but their fanbases are WAY bigger! It just makes no sense!

I was thinking the same thing! I mean, we all love Jared to death, but like you said, he's small potatoes compared to other male entertainment stars. Why on earth pick on him??

It's possible, but I'm more inclined to think it is either some of the rabid Jensen fans who hate Jared (they mostly live on TWoP) or someone who just hates them both, because, and I know this is just wild speculation, but if the break itself was first suggested by either party, I would say it would have to have been Sandy, because, if Jared had any doubts at all, it's not like he had to propose in the first place. Assuming it happened like Sandy described, she wasn't even expecting it, so why do it and THEN think about it afterward and decide it's not a good idea. I dod think it was something agreed between the two of them, which shouldn't give anyone in Sandy's camp anything to bitch about, unless you mean a particular Sandy fan who has decided to be pissed off on her account. Which it could be.

I'm kind of wondering, and I'm only saying this cause it's way down in your comments and probably only you will read it, if maybe they thought she was pregnant, and when it turned out she wasn't, the relief was such that they decided, looking back on it, that maybe they weren't right for each other. The weird thing with that though would be that I would assume in that situation, Sandy would have been expecting a proposal.
