Second day of the Star Trek convention was fun! My buddy [livejournal.com profile] asyouleft joined me for the day, which was great. Was nice to hang out with someone. :-)  We went to Walter Koenig's panel (he's looking so frail now) then to John Billingsley's (funny guy!) and then to the duo Connor/Dominic one (they're a riot!). Then we sat through the auction where I won Scott Bakula's ACTUAL script from Canamar (one of my favorite eps) and was also autographed by him. Squee! And finally I had a photo op and autograph with John Billingsley.

Here are a few pics:

Me and Dr. Phlox himself, John Billingsley

Myself and Robert Picardo (the Doctor or the Leprechaun from Supernatural). He was so funny. He's like, "You're so small I could wrap my arms around you twice!"

And a pic from Connor and Dominic's panel:

Today is the last day of the convention. Very much looking forward to seeing George Takei and then also Linda Park (who I have a photo op and autograph with).
agt_spooky: (Fangirl)
The Star Trek convention is off to a great start! Had an awesome time yesterday. Got to meet Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating (my favorite actors from Enterprise) right off the bat at their table in the vendor's room. Dominic remembered me when I walked up to his table to get my script signed! He's like, "I know you. Hello, love." Squee!

Then I had my photo op with Dominic last night. I am officially IN LOVE with him now. When I walked up he threw open his arms, said "Barb!" pulled me close and KISSED ME ON MY CHEEK. Then kept his arms wrapped around me and we took the photo. Oh AND I'M NEVER WASHING MY FACE AGAIN! Check this out:

Right after that was my photo with Connor. I LOVE how this turned out. Trip Tucker will always be my favorite character on Enteprise.

Last but not least was my duo photo with the two of them. I had brought with a model of the Enterprise that I built and gave it to Connor to hold. I love how he posed with it! Dork! LOL!

Today's panels that I'm going to are Walter Koenig, John Billingsley and Connor and Dominic's duo one. I have my photo with John later tonight.

Okay folks, I'm outta here until Monday. I'm off to the Stargate convention here in Chicago right after work today. Me and [livejournal.com profile] asyouleft are going to hang around with Michael Shanks, Joe Flanigan, my main man Connor Trinneer and all sorts of other guests from all three Stargate shows. I haven't seen Michael Shanks in person in probably 15 years so I'm really looking forward to that. Hopefully I'll get a good photo with Joe Flanigan so that I can have him autograph it at DragonCon in two weeks.

So you guys have a great weekend and I'll hopefully post pics on Monday!
agt_spooky: (SN-Sam and Dean (hold hands))

One of the things I like most about going to conventions is meeting friends (both old and new). Sometimes you don't get to see them but once a year at these events, which makes the con even more special.

I was kinda bummed that this year four friends ended up canceling. I was really looking forward to seeing them and hanging out and fangirling with them for three days. But in the end [livejournal.com profile] charityflint, [livejournal.com profile] lausbub0402 and I had a blast with just the three of us:

Then a great thing happened….we made two new friends! Claudia and I were in line for registration on Thursday night. It was about a half hour before it was going to start, so everyone was just sitting on the floor. There were two young gals in front of us. I saw one of them take a deck of cards out of her bag and she turned to Claudia and I and asked if we wanted to play cards to pass the time.

Well it turned out to be the start of a beautiful friendship, all because of a couple games of Go Fish with a deck of Harry Potter cards. :-)

Turns out that Correen and Hillary were best friends from Ohio, attending their first ever convention. When they found out I'd been attending the SPN cons since 2007 I became their convention expert. *g* Which was totally okay by me! I loved imparting my knowledge of how things are run, answering their questions, etc. We ended up hanging out off and on all weekend. I loved their enthusiasm about everything since it was all new to them. They very much reminded me of myself and Charity back when we started going to cons in the 90's.

Charity snapped a group photo of us on the last day:

Really can't say enough nice things about them. Such fun gals! I truly hope that we get to hang out together at another con.

agt_spooky: (SN-Impala Spooky)
So there were a few folks I didn't get photo ops with, but did snap a few pics of during their panels.

First up is Julie McNiven. Can you say beautiful?

I saw her for the first time in Vancouver in 2011 and she's still just as sweet. She mentioned in her Q&A panel that she just filmed an episode of Motive, a Canadian show filmed in Vancouver. During the autograph session I told her that I loved Motive and I couldn't wait to see her. Her eyes got really big when I said I watched it and we had quite the animated discussion about it. But I couldn't get her to reveal if she was the Killer or the Victim. Darn! :-)

Then of course there's the Dynamic Duo of Matt Cohen and Richard Speight Jr. :-)

For two guys who never worked together on the show they've become such amazing friends. I always look forward to their panel because where Sebastian's is off the hook with the raunchiness, theirs is off the hook with the funny. Just ask my buddy Charity who pretty much lost her voice from laughing so hard! And surprisingly enough, for the first time in ages, they stayed on the stage 90% of the time. In fact, I think only Matt jumped down and wandered around. Some of the highlights: Matt pretending to be Chris the photographer and Richard pretending to be Matt - and then Richard telling the story about how a fan was falling all over Matt and only said "Hi, Rich" before ignoring him. He told that story three times and it kept getting more outlandish each time - and then Matt's unfortunate "nipple tweaking" encounter with a female fan inside a gorilla costume at karaoke. He called the poor woman up on stage to apologize to her and I think she was more embarrassed then than when it actually happened! LOL!

And here we have the aptly dubbed Super Fan of the Weekend - Osric Chau. This kid was amazing! First, he's just a really nice guy and quite funny. Second, he's a huge fanboy of his own show! LOL! Seriously! He was having a blast getting to meet people like Sebastian, etc. for the first time. He attended all the Q&A panels and even got in Mark Sheppard's line for an autograph! It was freaking hysterical! He was seen all weekend just walking the halls with the rest of us fans, chatting, taking photos, etc. If you didn't know who he was you'd think he was just a regular attendee. I have to admit that Kevin has grown really tiresome for me, having never thought the character would be sticking around for years, but Osric himself I was very impressed with.

All in all it was a good line up of guests this year!
agt_spooky: (Fangirl)

Ah, Sebastian. That man gets wilder and wilder with every convention. So much so that Creation put a disclaimer next to his panel description in the program - "Sebastian's panel is not suitable for younger attendees." ROTFL!! And Sebastian didn't fail to live up to that expectation. :-)

It actually started on Friday night when he showed up at karaoke, acting completely nutty, as always. He kept going down off the stage and into the crowd and throwing out candy and glow sticks. I actually got one of the glow sticks! Woot!

His Q&A panel was off the hook, as usual. Like Richard Speight Jr. said, you'll ask a question but never get an answer. That's pretty much what happened! I think during the entire hour Sebastian answered two questions. He spent the rest of the time singing, making sexual innuendo and walking through the crowd and climbing on chairs.

It did end up being [livejournal.com profile] lausbub0402's favorite panel, though, because at one point Sebastian was asking if anyone was there from outside the U.S. and she yelled out "Germany!". Later on when he was walking through the crowd he was going, "Who said they were from Germany?" and [livejournal.com profile] charityflint starts waving her hands and pointing at Claudia (who probably wanted to crawl under her chair *g*). So Sebastian goes back there and starts speaking German to her! LOL!

I told Sebastian later in the autograph session that it was my friend he was talking to and he's all, "I'm so sorry! Did I embarrass her??" Hee! And I'm like no, she loved every minute of it. Right, Claudia?? Ha!

Of course I couldn't resist getting a photo with him and wrapping my arms around him. Who me, shallow? ;-)

P.S. - [livejournal.com profile] lausbub0402 and [livejournal.com profile] charityflint ended up smooshed in an elevator right up against Sebastian. I hate them both. :-P

agt_spooky: (SN-Sam and Dean (chibi brothers))

I haven't seen Samantha Smith since the first Chicago convention in 2007. I didn't get a photo with her then, so I wasn't missing the opportunity the second time around.

But let me back up - first, she is STUNNINGLY gorgeous. If you've seen other pics of her from the con she's wearing the most amazing dress with these high heeled boots. She said that she needed to stand during the Q&A session because sitting down on that chair with her short dress wouldn't be a good idea! LOL!

I can't say enough good things about her. She's so kind and sweet and funny and well-spoken. Her panel was such a delight. She had a lot of good questions asked. One of her best comments was about that nightgown. It's made of this horrible scratchy material. She said that she wants that when the show finally ends so that she can burn it! LOL!

She was asked which version of Mary she enjoyed playing and she mentioned Dark Side of the Moon. I'm so glad she brought that up because even though you can't see it in the photo op, I'm wearing my "I Wuv Hugs" t-shirt specifically because she was going to be there that day. So when I walked up to get her autograph her face lit up when she saw the shirt and she said to me, "I feel the need to give you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich." LOL! I loved that comment!

Then when she saw me in the photo op line later that day she smiled really big and held out her arms to me for a hug. And I love how the photo turned out!!

Samantha Smith, you are one classy lady. Never change. :-)

agt_spooky: (SN-Highway to Hell)

Let's talk about the awesome Mark Sheppard, shall we? And a photo op with him that I finally like! I first had my picture taken with him at the first Chicago con he did a number of years ago and it was just awful. So I decided to give it another shot and I'm glad that I did. This time I walked up to him and said, "May I have a hug from the King of Hell?" He smiled at me and said, "Of course, darling," and I melted right on the spot and right into his arms. :-) And he's even got a hint of a smile still on his face! Which is amazing since that man rarely ever smiles in his photos.

His duo panel with Mark Pellegrino was a lot of fun, as I knew it would be. Mark Sheppard in particular was just busting out with the witty comments. He was also getting the majority of the questions, so I felt a little bad for Mark P. But he really got animated when someone asked about his t-shirt and started talking about zombies and World War Z. It was funny!

I got autographs with them both. Mark S was just flying through his but I did get the chance to tell him that I truly enjoyed him as Sterling on Leverage. I asked Mark P if he'd seen the Tomorrow People commercial about his character where they call him the Devil. I told him between that and Lucifer he was being typecast. :-) He thought about it for a minute and then said with a smile, "I'm okay with that." Hee! He was very intrigued when I told him I'd seen the other versions of Tomorrow People and asked me several questions about them, especially the U.S. version from the 1990's. I thought it was really cool he wanted my opinion on them. I did tell him that he was the best bad guy and it really is the truth. He loved that!

agt_spooky: (SN-Castiel (Angel))

It was a sad day yesterday when I had to put [livejournal.com profile] lausbub0402 back on a plane and send her home to Germany. :-( It was a fantastic week with her here in Chicago, so I thought the next photo op I posted should be our duo with Misha.

We went back and forth with what we wanted to do with him (oh, that sounded dirty *g*) and finally decided on a group hug. He was making goofy expressions with everyone and we were no exception. :-) I like how Claudia made sure to reach around just far enough to grab his hand. Hee!

Misha in general was his funny, charming self as usual, which was great. I love this guy. And for some reason he remembers me each year, which just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Especially when he winks at me as I'm walking away. :-)

Best part with Misha was that he turned out to be the surprise guest judge for the Castiel costume contest and walked out on stage. I'm so glad I got to my seat a little early and saw all this, because just after Misha picked the winner another surprise guest appeared, trying to blend into all the other Castiels on stage. Who was it? Super Fanboy of the weekend - Osric Chau! LOL!

Misha spots him and goes over and PICKS HIM UP and carries him across the stage! Then proceeds to embarrass him in front of all of us. It was freaking hysterical!

Oh, and kudos to Misha for sticking around an extra day on Sunday and doing more photo ops, otherwise Claudia and I wouldn't have been able to get one. Told ya I loved this guy. :-)

Morning, everyone!

For those of you who missed my late night rambling last night, I'm home from the SPN Chicago Con. Had a fabulous weekend with [livejournal.com profile] lausbub0402 and [livejournal.com profile] charityflint.

I'll have the complete J2 breakfast and Q&A panel for download after I get home from work tonight.

I've got a lot of stories to share but for now I'll just leave you with this. It pretty much sums up my entire weekend. :-)

agt_spooky: (Default)

Got home just a little while ago from the SPN ChicagoCon, exhausted but happy. Had a fantastic weekend with [livejournal.com profile] lausbub0402 and [livejournal.com profile] charityflint.

I have lots to share, but it will have to wait until tomorrow, as I need to switch my brain off & get some sleep as I have to work in the morning.

But since I know you're all wondering - yes, I recorded both the J2 breakfast & their Q&A panel in their entirety. I should have them for download after I get home from work tomorrow.

For now - goodnight!

I thought over the next few days I'd post a bit about all the panels I went to at the SPN Chicago Con. And all of them were AWESOME!

First up was Kim Rhodes (aka Sheriff Jody Mills). This was my first time seeing Kim in person and OMG, what a wonderful woman! So…vibrant, for lack of a better word. And really, really damn funny. :-) She made sure we all knew she loved Jensen's mouth and that Jim's moustache is very soft. *g* She's passionate about her character and truly hopes she'll be back (and so do I!) And she speaks highly of Jared, Jensen and of course Jim Beaver. One of the funniest moments is when she was talking about working with Jared during Time After Time, and the script said repeatedly "she looks at him in a motherly way". She's like, "I get it, okay? I'm not going to f**k him!" ROTFL! All in all it was a great panel and getting to meet and talk with Kim briefly in the autograph line was really lovely.

Here are a few clips of Kim so you can see what a cool gal she is. I missed the first question, that was "do you ever use your 'mother voice' with Jensen or Jared?"

Next up was someone else I'd never seen in person before - James Patrick Stewart (aka Dick Roman). I think they said this was his first U.S. convention. I hope they invite him back for more! What an awesome guy. So funny and so personable. And he pretty much relished getting to play the bad guy. Who wouldn't, eh? Oh and the "Dick" jokes never stopped! He even walked into a couple of them himself! LOL! Did you guys know that he wore fake teeth as Dick?? I had no idea! He brought them along and put them on during the panel and wow, it really did change how he looked when he smiled, from genuine to smarmy. Overall a very entertaining panel by a very entertaining guy. :-)

And here are a few clips of James, too:

Then there was Rob Benedict (aka Chuck) and Emily Perkins (aka Becky). This was the only…awkward panel of the con. Mainly because this was Emily's first one and she was terrified. Poor girl came out on stage looking like she was expecting the fans to rush the stage and beat her up! And I kind of understand her apprehension, because not everyone liked Becky. But she needn't have worried. Everyone was very nice to her and Rob did his best to put her at ease. And she did start relaxing toward the end of the panel. I loved her story about how incredibly nervous she was her first day on set, not knowing what to expect from Jensen and Jared. :-) And Rob, of course, was his relaxed, funny self. And he even sang for us!

OH! Best part of their panel was Rob asking why Becky dumped Chuck and went for Sam. It became this running joke about how Chuck just wasn't her type and she needed someone stronger, etc. It was too freaking funny and it was nice to see Emily smiling and joking.

Both Emily and Rob were at the cocktail party, and even if you don't like Becky, you would like Emily. She's so soft-spoken and sweet and I'm glad we got to chat with her for a bit. Rob, too. He's such a great guy. :-)

That's it for today! Tomorrow is DJ Qualls, Gabe Tigerman and the dynamic duo of Richard Speight Jr and Matt Cohen!

agt_spooky: (SN-Castiel (hug your angel))
Ok, so I know I did that poll about which photo op should I get - DJ or Misha - and that DJ won by a landslide. But when I actually got to the con the pull of a Misha photo op was just too great and I splurged and got on with him, too. :-)

As soon as I walked up he was all, "Hey you!" and opened up his arms for a hug before I even said anything. Awww!  One year I'm gonna do something funny, but he really does give good hugs. :-)

Morning, everyone!

Here I am with your next goodie from the SPN Chicago Con - the COMPLETE Jensen and Jared Q&A panel.

Just FYI - the stupid @$%&*# woman in front of me refused to sit upright during the majority of the panel, her head tipped so far to the right that it was practically resting on the woman's shoulder next to her and obscuring my view of Jared quite often. But I did the best I could.

If you download the video, take a second to leave me a comment, I'd really appreciate it. It's not easy to film these panels in their entirety without getting caught by the Creation nazis.

(In an attempt to get my mind off of things going on at home I thought I'd continue on with the uploading of my convention vids)

With the demise of Megaupload I lost all 60+ convention videos I've recorded since 2007. I'm slowly starting to find all of my old files and reupload them now that I have an account at Rapidshare.

But unlike Megaupload, which was free and the files never disappeared, I have to pay for a Rapidshare account and the files only last for 30 days (I believe). So if you want these files, get them now! Because I can't guarantee how long they'll be around.
