Hey guys!

Still having a fantastic time in Vancouver with [livejournal.com profile] charityflint. :-) Check under the cut for all that we've been doing the last two days, complete with pictures!

Our adventure continues! )

Evening, everyone! It's getting late here and [livejournal.com profile] charityflint and I have an early morning, but I wanted to pop on and share a few pics with you from our adventures today - the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Stanley Park and a sunset dinner at the top of Grouse Mountain.

Here's the direct link to my Photobucket album:  http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f274/agtspooky/Vancouver/

Secondly - YES, thanks to you guys who linked me pics of Paris Hilton outside the Vancouver airport, it WAS her that walked about 6 inches from Charity outside the bathroom that I was inside. Unbelievable! We're totally kicking ourselves for not sticking around til she came back out. :-)

Haven't had time to check the flist in two days, so if something exciting in SPN fandom is going on, leave me a link here! Thanks guys!

I'll hopefully have time tomorrow night to post pics of Victoria, where Charity and I are heading in the morning. :-)

Morning, everyone!

Just a quick post here to let everyone know that Chris (aka [livejournal.com profile] charityflint) and I arrived safe and sound yesterday afternoon in Vancouver. :-)

And a funny thing happened as Chris was waiting for me in the Vancouver airport, outside the bathroom. I came out and she asked if I saw this young woman with long blonde hair, sunglasses, dressed all in black, with high heel boots go in. I hadn't and she said, "Man, it looked just like Paris Hilton."  I laughed and said that it was actually about the right time for her to be here to film her episode. And what do I see this morning when i get on line? That Paris sent a twitter that as of 3:30pm yesterday she was on set - about 3 hours after Chris thought she saw her! Now Chris is convinced it was her! LOL!

We had a very lovely dinner at Gotham last night, and our waiter's name happened to be Chris, too. So he and Chris hit it off right away. :-) He asked if we'd been to the restaurant before and when we told him no, we were from Chicago, he asked if we were here for a convention. I said yes, for a tv show called Supernatural. He's like, oh yeah! Jensen and Jared come here quite often. We smiled and said that's why we wanted to come eat here, to see why they liked the food. Chris asked him if he'd ever gotten to serve them, and he said yep, in fact he's sat down and had drinks with Jensen. (squee!) He said that Jensen likes meat and good wine. :-)  He also said that both he and Jared are the nicest guys, not pretentious at all, unlike some Hollywood folks they get in there. He really spoke fondly of the boys, which is always great to hear. :-)

So Chris and I are on our way to breakfast, then it's off to Capilano and Grouse Mountain today. Yay!

Before I go, I need to let you guys know from my flist that are coming up here that my PHONE DOES NOT WORK! I'm SO pissed. Fucking Virgin Moble is a piece of crap. So don't bother trying to call or text me. You can leave a message for me in my room at the Sheraton, room 2763.

Oh, also, the freaking hotel does not have wireless internet! You've got to connect up with the data cable they have in the room. That's total crap.

Ok, gotta run. I hope to post some pictures from our adventures today later tonight or tomorrow morning. :-)

I'm so excited for Vancouver I can't STAND IT. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] charityflint is coming over tonight so we can go over everything one more time, look at our itinerary, etc. We have so many things planned!

• We're going to go shopping in Gastown the day we arrive (Monday) then dinner at Gotham that night.

• Tuesday we're off to Victoria to see the gardens and the house/castle that was used in Smallville and Poltergeist:The Legacy. Also on Victoria is somewhere that we're definitely having lunch at - Barb's Place! LOL! I kid you not! It's a seafood place right on the dock. I hope they have a t-shirt I can buy. :-)

• Wednesday we're off to Grouse Mountain and the Capilano suspension bridge.

• Thursday is the day we're going to hit as many SPN filming locations as we can (thanks in part to [livejournal.com profile] raloria's awesome guides!) including the studio now, since freaking Creation canceled the set tours.

• Then Friday the convention starts! Squee!

Speaking of the con, I know a few of you who will be there ([livejournal.com profile] candygramme, [livejournal.com profile] cattraine, [livejournal.com profile] country_bee, [livejournal.com profile] frostian, [livejournal.com profile] bandit_queen1, [livejournal.com profile] raloria, [livejournal.com profile] cherryscott) anyone else? Where are you all sitting? I've got seat B39.

Three more days! Three more days! :-)

I can't believe that just THREE WEEKS from today I'll be in Vancouver with my best buddy, [livejournal.com profile] charityflint, getting ready to meet these guys:

I remember buying the tickets to the Creation convention back in January and thinking it was going to be FOREVER until August got here. And now it has and the countdown has begun!!

I'm truly beside myself with anticipation of going back to Vancouver after so many years. I fell in love with the city more and more each time I visited. I swear one time I'm never coming back! :-)

Charity and I decided to make a vacation out of it, so we're going up there for a whole week. And we've got a ton of things planned. Including being on the lookout for certain boys who may be filming around town. *g*

Speaking of the boys, Charity and I are getting a J2 sandwich picture with both of us in it and we wanted to hold up some kind of banner, but I'm not exactly sure what it should say. Some of the ones we came up with were: "Proof everything's bigger in Texas" or "Happiest fangirls in the world" or "Fangirl Heaven". I'm not really sold on any of them, though. Do any of you have a suggestion for a funny banner we can hold up?

To say that I've gone into debt over this convention is an understatement. From the airfare to the hotel to the sightseeing to food to the rental car to the convention gold tickets and all of the photo ops, not to mention the set tour...I'll be paying this off for quite some time. But I just couldn't NOT go. Not when it was in Vancouver and not when it's a once in a lifetime thing. Thank god I have a very understanding husband. LOL!

So yeah, it's Vancouver or Bust, baby! :-)

I need to have my head examined.

And so does [livejournal.com profile] charityflint for following along with me!

This morning we went and bought tickets for the Supernatural set tour, during the convention up in Vancouver. Yes, we actually paid that outrageous price. [hangs head]

I HATE Creation for doing this and I should've told them where to stick their set tour. But I know if I didn't do it I'd shoot myself in the head, listening to the stories everyone would be telling about the tour (and the picture in the Impala!) all weekend.

Back during our Sentinel days, Charity and I got to go on a tour of all of the sets during a convention and it's something I'll never forget. It was just amazing to be standing in the Cascade Police station and in Jim and Blair's loft.

Thinking about that experience is what made me decide to bite the bullet and buy the SPN ticket - because this will probably be a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I didn't want to miss out.

Any other crazy people on my flist buy a set tour ticket, too?

Is it August yet?? :-)

My best buddy [livejournal.com profile] charityflint came over to my place last night to go out to dinner and watch Supernatural. We got back from dinner early, had an hour to kill before SPN, so we got on the computer to check airfare to Vancouver for the Creation con in August.

Now I'd checked a couple weeks ago, and a non-stop flight from Chicago was over EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS. I nearly fainted, I swear. So I was fully prepared for the price to have not changed very much.

Know what it was last night? Ready for this? TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY DOLLARS.

Poor Charity nearly fell off the chair, her eyes huge, going, "Is that roundtrip??" And I could barely speak myself! LOL!

Needless to say, we booked the trip ASAP, and we're going to be staying for a week up there, to do some sightseeing before the con. WHOO-HOO!!

But the night got even better. After we bought our tickets, I went on Creation's site to get the hotel info to book our rooms. And what do I see? MISHA COLLINS HAS BEEN ADDED!! I think I scared Charity with my scream. :-) I'll be getting a photo op with him when I get home tonight. Now if only Jim Beaver would be added, I'd be over the moon with happiness.

And damn, have you guys seen what the convention hotel looks like, the Sheraton? Freaking awesome!

Is it August yet? Is it August yet? *bg*

Got 'em!

WOOT! The hubby called and said he got my tickets for the SPN Vancouver con! Yes! He got through, ordered them AND got the confirmation email in only ten minutes. What a guy! I'll never doubt his computer skills again. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] charityflint - you and I are goin' to Vancouver!

P.S. - anyone know how they're doing the Sunday breakfast? We got to pick our seats for next year's con in Chicago when we bought our tickets. Is this going to be another "sleep out in the hallway" thing for Vancouver and a free-for-all for seats when the door opens?

I am SO EXCITED about the tickets for the Supernatural Vancouver Creation con going on sale today I can hardly stand it. :-)

Have you ever visited a city and have it...speak to you? Vancouver is that city for me. I'm just drawn to it. I've been there several times and for years have wanted to go back, but the opportunity never presented itself. And now it has! Not only do I get to go to Vancouver, but I get to see the boys as well! Bonus!

I'm a suburban girl, having had no desire to ever live in a big city, but I'd live in Vancouver in a heartbeat. It's SO beautiful and the people there are friendly as well. Not to mention all the great restaurants and shops. Gastown = love.

This trip is going to cost a small fortune, with the con ticket, airfare, car rental, hotel and spending money, but that's the reason I have a savings account! :-)

I can't wait to visit places up there that we've seen on SPN, not to mention seeing things from The Sentinel, which is the reason I visited Vancouver for the first time, back in 1998. Time for a trip down memory lane! Which will be perfect, seeing as I'm traveling with my best buddy, [livejournal.com profile] charityflint, and we met each other all those years ago in Sentinel fandom. :-)

So lookout, Vancouver, here I come!
