A bit of this and that

A list of randomness this morning:
• I'm feeling very restless today. I've been so used to working on my Enterprise story every day for the last several weeks that now that I'm done I don't know what to do with myself.
• My husband is a technical genius. After the_other_sandy gave me the website of a local shop that sells region free DVD players, the hubby got it into his head that we could save the money and he'd find a way to hack our current DVD player/recorder (it also has a VCR). Now that thing was expensive and I use it all the time. I told him if he broke it trying to do this, I'd break him. I get up from my desk at work this morning and when I come back I've got a voicemail from him. I hit "play" and instead of his voice I hear the theme song from The Professionals blasting through the phone. Needless to say, that was the sign that he hacked it. :-)
• I just signed up for two more glass classes through the park district. The first is next week and we're making a bowl. The next class is in August and we're making a mosaic of some kind using glass fragments. I'm intrigued by both!
• My 19th wedding anniversary is next Tuesday and John and I have no idea what we're going to do to celebrate. Besides go to either Joe's Crab Shack or Melting Pot for dinner. Hmm…wonder if I can get him to go see the new Superman movie that night…. But next year for our 20th we've decided to take a vacation somewhere.
• I have an advanced Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign seminar next week that I am really, really looking forward to. We just got CS6 at work and it's full of new features. I'm glad that my company pays for ongoing education classes like this, because I love these things, surrounded by my fellow graphic design geeks. :-) And I got my buddy Andrew to also sign up, so it'll be a good day. Since we moved buildings, away from him, I don't get to see him much. It'll be nice to spend some time with him.
• We were supposed to have had the "storm of the century" here in Chicago yesterday. The weathermen were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, predicting armageddon with 100 mph winds, baseball size hail and torrential rains. They had everyone in a panic, glued to the radar all day long. So in the end, "armageddon" turned out to be a regular thunderstorm that blew through here over the course of about 2 hours. Oooh, scary! :-/ I really want to be a weatherman. It's the only job where you can be wrong everyday and still get paid.
What's on YOUR list of randomness today?

Date: 2013-06-15 12:40 am (UTC)I’m really excited to make this bowl next week. I’m so glad that they keep offering something different. I’m going to run out of space on my bookshelves to put everything!
Oh yes, I’m going to take some time this weekend to kick back and relax and watch me some Pros episodes!
