A list of randomness this morning:

• I'm feeling very restless today. I've been so used to working on my Enterprise story every day for the last several weeks that now that I'm done I don't know what to do with myself.

• My husband is a technical genius. After [personal profile] the_other_sandy gave me the website of a local shop that sells region free DVD players, the hubby got it into his head that we could save the money and he'd find a way to hack our current DVD player/recorder (it also has a VCR). Now that thing was expensive and I use it all the time. I told him if he broke it trying to do this, I'd break him. I get up from my desk at work this morning and when I come back I've got a voicemail from him. I hit "play" and instead of his voice I hear the theme song from The Professionals blasting through the phone. Needless to say, that was the sign that he hacked it. :-)

• I just signed up for two more glass classes through the park district. The first is next week and we're making a bowl. The next class is in August and we're making a mosaic of some kind using glass fragments. I'm intrigued by both!

• My 19th wedding anniversary is next Tuesday and John and I have no idea what we're going to do to celebrate. Besides go to either Joe's Crab Shack or Melting Pot for dinner. Hmm…wonder if I can get him to go see the new Superman movie that night…. But next year for our 20th we've decided to take a vacation somewhere.

• I have an advanced Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign seminar next week that I am really, really looking forward to. We just got CS6 at work and it's full of new features. I'm glad that my company pays for ongoing education classes like this, because I love these things, surrounded by my fellow graphic design geeks. :-) And I got my buddy Andrew to also sign up, so it'll be a good day. Since we moved buildings, away from him, I don't get to see him much. It'll be nice to spend some time with him.

• We were supposed to have had the "storm of the century" here in Chicago yesterday. The weathermen were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, predicting armageddon with 100 mph winds, baseball size hail and torrential rains. They had everyone in a panic, glued to the radar all day long. So in the end, "armageddon" turned out to be a regular thunderstorm that blew through here over the course of about 2 hours. Oooh, scary! :-/ I really want to be a weatherman. It's the only job where you can be wrong everyday and still get paid.

What's on YOUR list of randomness today?

Really looking forward to seeing what you do in your glass class. Your pieces have been really impressive.

Well, it's still early, so not much randomness so far, just kitties waking me up much too early because they wanted me to put their breakfast out (mind you, they don't eat it for a while, they just want me to put it out), and now they're running around like they've been eating loco weed.

A good person would get up now and go in to work early. Instead, I think I'll look at possible haircuts.

Thanks! I’m really excited to make this bowl next week. I’m so glad that they keep offering something different. I’m going to run out of space on my bookshelves to put everything!

It’s a kitten’s job in life to do that. And then you want to be irritated with them. But then you look at their cute little face and end up kissing them instead. And they know this! They know their cuteness will save them! LOL!

Hee! I’d rather be looking at haircuts instead of at work, too! :-)

lol
It's kinda true though. Today was supposed to be light rain ALL day and cloudy. It didn't rain until 5 and now it's pouring three hours later. I even think it was supposed to stop in the evening o.O
Before it started it felt kinda tropical though. It wasn't extremely hot, but I felt sweaty all day. Somehow today was actually mostly about the weather.

See what I mean about weathermen?? Sometimes you’ve got to wonder, with all the technology, how they can be SO wrong about the weather?

That thunderstorm was a joke! Tom Skilling was acting like the world was going to end and then....
One clap of thunder and about 5 minutes of rain!

ROTFL!! I can only imagine what he must have looked like. The top of his head was probably ready to blow off! I mean, we didn’t even have a drop of rain until nearly 7 pm. By the time I had finished with my yoga class at 8:15 it was all over. Sometimes you’ve got to wonder, with all the technology, how they can be SO wrong about the weather?

Well I've been reading a few books, now I'm reading "The Secret" :D ... Oh and I read a while ago "World War Z" if you hadn't read it, you should, it's a great book, I really liked it,
It's an apocalyptic novel where people get turned to zombies.

Heck, yeah! The more the merrier! :-)

so when are you going to post your fic?

I did this morning! Got too busy last night and didn’t get a chance.

The Big Bang SPN already started,, do you still read SPN fanfics?

You know, I haven’t read any in a long time. Maybe I should check out BB this year and find a few, get me back into the SPN world.

I see they made that into a movie with Brad Pitt! I just saw a preview for it when I went to see Star Trek. It looks really, really bizarre. Wasn’t sure if I was interested in seeing it, but if you liked the book then I just might give it a shot! You’ll have to let me know if you see the movie, how it compares to the book.
