About a week ago I mentioned that I'd been to the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art. Finally sat down over the weekend and went through my photos of the pretty, pretty rocks and jade and thought I'd share a few with those of you rock geeks like me. :-)

I really got a laugh out of this one:

Should I be offended that I'm the oldest rock on earth?? LOL! Then again, I'm apparently from Canada, so I'm cool with that. :-)

This is a piece of petrified wood that looked so much like a butterfly the curators added a body and antenna to it:

Various lapidary materials. The colors are just stunning:

Bacon and eggs, anyone? Yep, it's all made out of rocks:

I’m afraid to admit that I’ve never seen Buckaroo Banzai. :-)

I was totally blown away by the food! Very unique use of rocks. :-)

you've never seen Buckaroo Banzai? I almost feel the need to send you a copy of the DVD or something, it's a cult classic! LOL....

Nature is amazing when even rocks can be so beautiful.

Oh, you would FLIP if you came to the museum! It’s not very big, but they have so many beautiful things in a small space. I could sit and look at some of them like I could a painting.

And the store! It takes all of my self-control not to buy everything in the place. You’d love it!

Aren’t they gorgeous? I would love to watch someone actually carve jade.

WoW the Flamingo!

This is really great,

Do you think someone started to eat the breakfast? Looks like someone nibble one of the eggs ;)

Barb, I watched this video, I think is very accurate

Isn’t that jade bird spectacular? And it’s hard to tell from the photo, but it was quite large.

LOL! The breakfast! I didn’t even notice that about the eggs! Someone was in for a rude awakening when they bit down. :-)

OMG, Maggie, that was hysterical!! My cat Mandy does that exact same thing! I showed it to my husband and he laughed, too. Thank you so much for sharing that with me!
