The weekend wrap up

Morning, all!
Ah, another Monday. Had kind of a lazy weekend. I had planned on taking my monthly trip to my comic book store to pick up all my books, but with gas at $4.20/gallon I couldn't justify the 30 mile round trip. So thanks for that, you jerks in the government for not putting a stop to speculators who are artificially driving up the price of gas when they have no intention of taking delivery. So now I have to suffer.
So instead I spent the better part of Saturday reading. Finished another Quantum Leap book, Prelude, which was kind of disappointing, unfortunately. Got caught up on some shows on the DVR.
The weather was really nice on Sunday, so the hubby and I went out to lunch then did some grocery shopping and the laundry. Very exciting. :-)
I did watch some good movies over the weekend. Not surprisingly they all starred Scott Bakula. :-)
Lord of Illusions - This was bizarre, and at times pretty gross, but good. Definitely not your David Copperfield kind of magic! LOL! And let me be shallow for a moment - I absolutely loved the way Scott's character dressed and wow, was he looking hot running around without his shirt on with that big tattoo on his back. Nice!
A Passion to Kill - This was a fantastic "whodunnit" mystery that kept me guessing right up until the end. Each time I thought I figured out who the killer was I was proven wrong. Really well written. And good lord, Scott had some HOT love scenes in this one. It's no wonder he married Chelsea Field after this movie! LOL!
The Captains - Thanks to my friend sen1995 I was able to track down this documentary from William Shatner, about all of the actors who have portrayed the various captains on Star Trek. Very interesting! Of course I loved what Scott had to say (and the lovely things Connor Trinneer said about him, too) but also Patrick Stewart, Chris Pine and Kate Mulgrew. But man, Avery Brooks is just too bizarre for me. I ended up having to fast forward through his parts. Scott was riding horses with Bill and singing, which highly amused me. :-)
Unfortunately the weekend ended on a sad note. My uncle called me to give me an update on my aunt, and things look pretty bad. Her kidneys are barely functioning. It sounds like she might not last the week. [sigh] He did send me a photo of himself, his wife, my grandmother, my cousin and my aunt taken at the hospice center when she first arrived. Probably the last photo I'll ever have of her. My uncle said that the hospice center is very nice and that she's being well looked after, which was good to hear. Thanks again for the good thoughts and hugs and support you've all sent me this past month, I've really appreciated it.

Definitely! I was really impressed by the writing. Kept me guessing the entire time, just like Scott’s character.
Prayers and peace to your aunt. I'm so glad she is in good and caring hands and that your uncle is keeping you in the loop.
Thank you, sweetheart. ♥ ♥
