I've got my eye on you!

This one's for all the Sentinel fans on my flist. :-)
I finally got my office painted at home so I can now unpack all the boxes and put everything away. This weekend I tackled several boxes and came across all sorts of Sentinel things. Among them was this picture below of myself and Garett Maggart.
Back in 2005 I was lucky enough to have been a part of helping run the Cascade Convention. I videotaped the panels and also got to escort Paul DeMeo around from table to table during the breakfast event.
It was during the breakfast that I got this awesome picture. Everyone was milling around, waiting for everyone to get their food and take their seats and Garett was just standing there, looking around. I walked up and asked if I could get my picture taken with him, and he's all like, "Barb! Sure!". And before I can hand my camera to
charityflint, Garett has wrapped his arm around my shoulder, pressed his face against mine, plucked the camera from my hand and took this great photo of the two of us:

I absolutely love the way it came out, and just the fact that Garett snapped the picture himself really makes it special to me. :-)
When I saw him next, at the following Moonridge event, I brought the photo, which I had put in a black mat. He really got a kick out of it and remembered when it was taken, signing it "Nice pic".
That was the last Moonridge event I've been able to attend, and I really, really need to make firm plans to go to the next one, because I've really missed seeing Garett and hanging out with my Sentinel friends. :-)

P.S. - on a totally different topic, the Def Leppard / Poison / Cheap Trick concert on Friday was AWESOME! Andrew and I had a fantastic time. *g*

Date: 2009-09-04 01:30 am (UTC)The Sentinel will always hold a special place in my heart. It was my first, true fandom that I actively took part in, from the first day the show came on the air. I made friendships then that are still just as strong today, thanks to Sentinel bringing us together.
Our fanbase was pretty rabid back then (heck, we brought the show back from cancelation!) and I still have people coming to me today to get copies of the episodes. Good to know we're still going strong! Jim and Blair forever! :-)

Date: 2009-09-04 09:02 pm (UTC)The Sentinel was my longest "obsession" and I guess my first true fandom as well. <3 I bought the first season as soon as it came out and I still have a bunch of episodes on my laptop.

Date: 2009-09-08 05:15 pm (UTC)Honestly, if the last episode hadn't left off with Blair "dying" I wonder if we would've rallied together so strongly. I'm just glad we did! That's an experience I'll never forget. :-)

It irritates me to no end that Paramount hasn't released seasons 2-4. With all the crap that gets put out on DVD and not the rest of Sentinel?? Grr....
