Ah yes, another Monday. Blech.

So how were all of your weekends? Mine was spent working on things around the house with the hubby. We still have about 20 boxes to unpack and I got six unpacked on Saturday while John was doing things outside. Then on Sunday we worked in the second bathroom, getting the towel racks and toilet paper holder up on the wall. We were going to start painting my office, but realized we had no food in the fridge, so went grocery shopping instead. We'll try again this weekend to get the office painted, and then we need to re-tile the kitchen floor. That's going to be a big job that I'm not looking forward to, but it's gotta be done. Then we can finally buy a new table and chair set to go in there. :-)

Onto fandom things...

• Someone must've rec'd my Jensen/Jared story, Touched by Darkness, over the weekend, because my counter suddenly jumped up over 100 hits on Sunday. Cool!

• I'm busy working on the cover to Where There's Smoke..., my new ebook with Dark Roast Press, the sequel to Burnin' for You. I love working with half-naked firemen photos. :-) The story's currently with my editor. I hope to have it back soon, make the changes and get this sucker published!

• I've now seen the new Star Trek movie five times. I think the last time I saw a movie five times was Batman Begins. And I'm not even a Trekkie! I can't believe how much I love this movie! When's it coming out on DVD? Christmas time?

• Did anyone watch Merlin on Sunday on NBC? I'm so thrilled they're finally showing it here in the U.S.!

• This one's for all the Sentinel fans on my flist. How's this for a bizarre coincidence? This weekend up at Big Bear Lake, CA, was the annual Moonridge Zoo event, that Garett Maggart always attends. I haven't been able to go in several years, and that totally bums me out. Well, while I was unpacking those six boxes over the weekend, one of them contained some of my photo albums, plus a box of loose pictures. While I was going through the loose ones, I came across this...

Yep, me and Garett back in 2004. I had gotten new license plates, so I brought one of my old ones for him to autograph. :-) But what are the chances I'd find this photo the same weekend that the event is going on?? Too weird!

I heard the event was very nice and Garett was his usual awesome self. :-) Does anyone have a link to someone's page who took photos this year? Or video? Oh, and one of the new wolf cubs is named Blair?? That's so cool!

• Oh, wanted to say Hello to all the new folks who've friended me over the past several days. Welcome to my journal! Enjoy!

Ok, gotta run. I'm horribly behind in answering comments. Sorry!

Have a good one, guys. :-)

Hi, Barb! I'm terrible at posting pics. Am obviously missing the gene that some people have the enables them to run right home and post pics; all I ever want to do after a big event is take a nap! And then I get back to work and completely forget to do anything. But I'll send you some.

I'm SO jealous that you were there!! I would LOVE to see any pics that you've got. Did you have a good time? I saw a couple pics that MJ posted on Sentinalia and Garett's hair is so short! He needs more of his curls back. :-) But he still looked good. I've GOT to make it out there next year. Is it true the gov't won't let them move across the lake now?

Good luck with the unpacking and fixing up the house!

Is it possible for you to make the Sentinel calendars again? Please, please, please! I hope you say yes. I really miss them. I know you'll get a lot of people who want to buy them!

Thanks, Barb,

Judy

Hi Judy!

I love it that you enjoy my TS calendars so much. :-) What I need to do is have a TS episode marathon one weekend to get me back in the Jim and Blair mindset so I'll be inspired to make new calendars. *g*

Hi Barb,

Please get in the mindset! LOL. My calendars are just creaking with age ((::

I hope the monitor that you're wearing, or will be wearing shows nothing inconsistent with your present medication. I had no idea that you had some heart issues.Bummer. But I assume the monitor is just practicing safe medicine to keep you healthy.

Sending prayers and lots of good thoughts to you and hoping that everything turns out okay!

LOL! You know, I'm pretty close, actually. I moved recently and over the weekend I unpacked a box that held all of my original TS VHS tapes. :-)

Me, too! Thanks so much for your concern, Judy, I appreciate it.

Sending prayers and lots of good thoughts to you and hoping that everything turns out okay!

Aww, thanks! I should have the results by Monday, so I'll let everyone know.

That's right, I remember you saying Touched by Darkness was the first one your read! I've had an idea for a sequel scribbled down in my notebook, but it's been so many years since I wrote the original that I don't think anyone would be interested in a sequel now.

And yes, I've met both actors from The Sentinel (Richard Burgi and Garett Maggart) several times and gotten their autographs and my picture with them. They're both wonderful guys. :-)

Ooh, tying in a sequel with Jensen's lasik surgery - that's a pretty good idea!

Yes, Garett was very cute as Blair Sandburg, with his long, curly hair. :-)

Richard will be back on Desperate Housewives next season as a semi-regular.

Garett and Richard are very good friends in real life. :-)

I'll have to see if I can find some of my old photos with both of them, from the conventions I was at.

Yes, Richard was wonderful in Harper's Island! And Jim has been fantastic as well. I've never been a fan of Katie's, especially in SPN, but she's not too bad in HI. I'm looking forward to finding out who the killer is in a couple of weeks.

Hehehe.... I'm up to 7 :-D I hope it comes out before Christmas... I don't think I can wait that long! Plus I would love to get it for my mom for her B-day in October since my love of ST is all her fault, LOL!

This weekend up at Big Bear Lake, CA, was the annual Moonridge Zoo event

I remember that zoo! Used to go every time we went to Big Bear and they were open.

Seven! Awesome! Have you seen it on IMAX? Wow! That was cool! I hope it comes out before Christmas, too, because I wanna see what kind of extras are on there. Hopefully a gag reel!

What gets me is, I'm not an ST fan. My dad was and I tried watching a few eps but just didn't get into it. Not until Wrath of Khan came out. Then I got hooked on the movies. To this day I haven't seen 90% of the original eps!

It's such a great place and they do great work there. And they've upgraded much of the park over the last couple of years. Last time I was there for the event I adopted a raccoon and a opossum. :-)

IMAX was incredible!! It was the first movie I've seen in that format. It just blew me away. I may be going for time #8 soon <G>. I will be highly, highly upset if they do not have a gag reel. Having interacted with Karl Urban before, I can say he'll mostly likely be hysterical, LOL!

I think I was born watching the original show. My mom and I would spend all day in front of the TV during the ST marathons even though we'd seen them all many times before. I liked the first 5 or seasons of Next Gen but TOS will always be my favorite. As far as the movies... well this one is the first I've liked since ST IV: The Voyage Home. I've seen V through X but I wasn't very impressed with them. IV would be my favorite. Wrath of Khan is a very close second. If they hadn't killed Spock (and I still cry over that when I watch it), it would be #1. Spock is my favorite of all the characters :-D

OMG, I swear Karl was the biggest surprise to me in the film. I didn't expect him to be so sarcastic and funny as Bones! He rocked!

Awww, that's so cool! What a great memory. :-)

As for the other ST incarnations the only one I ever watched was Enterprise (I loved Scott Bakula!) and I'm probably the only one, but I loved it. :-) And when in the movie Scotty talks about Admiral Archer's pet beagle I nearly died!!

As far as the movies... well this one is the first I've liked since ST IV: The Voyage Home.

I loved that one! Like you, Voyage and Khan are pretty much the only two that I really, really enjoyed. (and I totally still cry over Spock *G*)

NBC is streaming it at their site, if you get a chance to go over there and watch. It's a really good show and Arthur is SO cute. :-)

As for editing, I'm not sure yet. I recorded the two on Sunday but haven't had a chance to watch. I'm sure they cut stuff out so they could cram in another commercial. :-(

My profession is graphic designer. I'm an artist and I work for a vitamin company, creating the labels that go on the bottles.

A month ago I graduated from my Citizen's Police Academy classes. I'm not officially a police officer but now I can do civilian volunteer work for them and eventually be a civilian patrol officer, which will be great. :-)

My office at my house is my extra bedroom that I put my computer and bookcases, etc. in. :-)

And yes, no more lifting boxes and unpacking until I get the heart test results! *g*

Ahhhh

Right! and how is your job getting in this crisis time? fine, not worst? I hope so! And thank God you have a job, because there are lots of people who don´t. Ahhh so you can be a civilian patrol officer? and if you were that, what exactly you can do?

Right! 72 hours to wait for result right? Hoping the hours get fast!

Take care of your heart and of yours!

have a nice day!

I tried to record Merlin because I was watching the new round of Ninja Warrior at my BF's house, but the power went out by me. Again. Fortunately, NBC.com is streaming it, so I'll have to watch it before next Sunday. In my copious free time, of course.

They actually showed two eps on Sunday, back to back, which I didn't realize. I'm glad my DVR did! I need to watch them and see if they've edited anything out of the UK version for some stupid commercial.
