Yep, that's what I'm talking about, people - the new X-Files movie starts today and I am SO PSYCHED to see it right after work. God, I've been waiting for this for six years! I know hardly anything about the plot, thanks to Chris Carter keeping a tight lid on things, for which I'm grateful. I actually didn't want to be spoiled for this.

I dug out all my old X-Files shirts and I've been wearing a different one each day this week (along with my XF watch!). My co-workers have been greatly amused by this. :-)

See, X-Files holds a special place in my heart. I'd been watching the show from day one, and as soon as I got my first home computer I went searching for XF online and came across a newsgroup for it. (Anyone remember those? *g*)

I picked up my AgtSpooky nickname right away, courtesy of Agent Fox "Spooky" Mulder and I've had the name ever since.

The newsgroup also initiated me into the world of fanfic, and I wrote my first fanfic story ever, Two of Hearts, a Mulder/Scully 'shipper fic. Yes, that's right, I'm a 'shipper and proud of it! To this day I think Mulder and Scully make an amazing couple.

I wrote many M/S fics until I came across my first ever slash fic, called A Living X-File, with Mulder and Skinner, a crossover with The Sentinel, that I was currently watching at the time. Well, wow, were my eyes ever opened after reading that! LOL!

Soon after that I wrote my first ever Mulder/Skinner slash story, called One Step at A Time. It was due to that story that I met my friend [livejournal.com profile] mayphoenix. [waves! Hi sweetie!]

I was at countless X-Files conventions during the heyday of the show and collected tons of memoribilia, which I still have, and went to see the first movie, Fight the Future, about a dozen times in the theater. :-)

So yeah, I'm a bit excited to be seeing Mulder and Scully again after all these years and I hope the movie does well so that we can see them again.

Any of you excited about the movie, too?

I was a big X-Files for the first 4 seasons, after that I watched it casually. However, when I saw the trailer of the new movie I got excited again, and I'll be watching it tomorrow morning.

Did you enjoy the movie? I've seen it twice now, and I was a little disappointed. It didn't feel like an XF episode to me. More like horror with all the body parts, and Mulder and Scully were separated too much for my liking. But me being a huge 'shipper, I did really enjoy the relationship stuff between them. :-)

I hope it does well enough for another movie a couple years from now.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. I thought that story was good, though I agree with you that the story didn't have an XF feeling to it. But I did like it.

It was good to see Mulder and Scully again. I felt that they stayed true to the characters and they still had the same chemistry.

I was pleasantly surprised that Nicki Aycox had such a big role for someone who is credited as 'victim #2'. I loved her in SPN and it was good to see her in something else. I'm looking forward to meeting her in September.

Another movie in a few years would be very welcome.

Yep, yep, I agree. Though I think it's kinda funny that even after all these years, and six of them living together and being intimate with each other, they still don't call each other by their first names. :-)

I know! At first I didn't recognize her, with the different hair style, but when she started speaking I was like - that's Meg! LOL! When fandoms collide, eh?

LOL. I didn't even think of that, I'm used to them being just Mulder and Scully, but you're so right.

Yeah, I love it when actors from old fandoms guest star in new ones, such as in SPN; Amber Benson, Billy Drago, and next season Mitch Pileggi.

I watched X-Files when it first was on tv. I hate to admit it somewhere in the last two seasons I stopped watching; especially after Mulder left.

I saw the first movie when it came out in theaters and was a little disappointed as it took a lot of the stuff from the show.

My favorite episode and the scariest in my opinion: The Calusar.

Why?
1. a ghost
2. Creepy Kid
3. possession and exorcism.

The warning at the end of episode to Fox Mulder: "Be careful, the evil knows who you are."

I know what you mean. I hung on to the bitter end, because it was like watching a train wreck, I couldn't look away. :-)

I enjoyed the first movie immensely. But was a little disappointed in this second one. It didn't feel like an XF episode to me. Oh, good choice! Wow, I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite, but Beyond the Sea and Pusher are right up there for me.

After the warning given to Mulder, I was hoping that more episodes would have the "evil" looking for Mulder. But they never continued with that story line.

Have you ever written an X-Files/Supernatural crossover? I can't help but think that they would make for an interesting one. It's sort of odd how few I've actually seen. I admit I'm not a huge fanfic reader anyway. I do read but in spurts, a short fic that sounds interesting here, a long chapter divided one there so I could have misses that there are tons of X-Files crossovers. I did think there would be alot more of them though as they seem like such a perfect match for crossing over, especially given all the XF alum who work on Supernatural now.

Oh wow, no I haven't but what a great idea! I'm surprised I haven't heard of anyone writing one already! Because like you said, they're a great match. Hmm...maybe Sam and Dean will have to meet up with Mulder and Scully while investigating a sighting of The Jersey Devil or something. :-)

Thanks for the plot bunny!

hi, just wanted to say, I've seen the movie just yesterday, been a huge fan since the first episode and i LOVE the movie. I think its very well done, all the little things between mulder and scully are still there (like the talking in front of everybody just with there eyes, if you know what i mean) and somehow its also a very different movie to the series and to the last one and so much seemed to have happened between them and it was funny and scary and absolutly gross and OMG Skinner!! ;-) and... oh, i just loved it. ;-)

And Skinner! SQUEE! Oh god, best part of the movie! Everyone in the theater was cheering. :-)

Hey, did you stay till the end of the credits and see M&S in the boat? Too cute!

I hope it does well enough for another movie a couple years from now.

It's funny how much of what you said applies exactly to me.

1) I watched from day 1.
2) My first posted fanfic was XF (Skinner sex if you want to know, LOL)
3) I got online just to find XF stuff.
4) Went to more XF conventions that I can count (have TONS of great behind the scenes stories)
5) Had the online nickname of Eve12 for the longest time ( a friend & fellow fan was born the day before me of the same year so she got to be Eve11, LOL!)

XF was definitely my first hard core fandom.

Other great memories:
1) working on the first XF website
2) being in an episode
3) being buddies with Mitch P. and Nick Lea
4) have Chris Carter call me into his office (I felt like I was going to see the principal, LOL) and have him tell a Cremation security goon to back off cause I was his friend
5) met A LOT of awesome people like [livejournal.com profile] surabufix
6) traveled tons and got to see many great places

So yep... XF has a special place with me too :-)

You know, I always wanted to get into X-Files, but somehow, I never could. I was a casual watcher, but not a fan.

However, it still holds a special place in my heart, because it brought my sister and me closer. I knew she was an X-files fan, and she knew I was a KFTLC and Highlander fan. One day, as we were walking our dogs one day, talking about TV shows, and we practically tripped over our dogs confessing that we both wrote fanfic for our shows.

:)

I went to see the first X-files movie with her; I'll probably wait this time until it comes out on DVD, since she's away for another year halfway across the world.

I've seen it twice now, and I have to admit I was a little disappointed. The pacing, IMO, was too slow. And it didn't feel like an XF episode to me. More like horror with all the body parts, and Mulder and Scully were separated too much for my liking. But the relationship stuff we did get between them was great. :-) But that kiss at the end was filmed so horribly! I wanted to see more than the back of Mulder's head! Argh!

Skinner popping up was hands down the best part of the movie. Everyone in the theater cheered. :-) And my slashy heart nearly exploded when he gathered Mulder up into his arms and started stroking his hair! Squee!

I also had no idea that Nicki Aycox was in it! When fandoms collide!

So what did YOU think of it?

OH my god...I just remembered. I taped the episode where Fox is swimming and he is wearing a speedo...

I rewound that tape sooo many times just to watch him get out of the pool....many many many times.

I wish I remember the name of that episode.

I'm a huge X Files fan and Mulder/Scully shipper. I didn't start watching right away, War of the Coprophages was the 1st episode I ever saw, but once I started I couldn't get enough! I am thrilled the movie has finally arrived and plan on going tomorrow afternoon. Hope you enjoy it!
