Look out, New Jersey, here I come!

Woot! I'm off to Eastern Media Con 2 this October!
My good friends Gloria, Kath and Kelly run this convention, and I was really bummed that I couldn't attend the first one last year. I heard nothing but amazing, fantastic things about this multi-fandom con and I was determined to go this year.
And now I am! Of course I'm traveling with my ever faithful companion,

I've signed up for all sorts of workshops they're having on making songvids, putting a zine together on a shoestring budget and a writer's workshop as well. I've been asked to run a panel on Photoshop, which I'm considering doing.
All of the panel suggestions so far on the Yahoo Group list sound awesome, and if they run the four-track panels like they did last year, I might have a hard time choosing what to attend. :-)
There's going to be a vid show, so this weekend I started work on a brand new Supernatural songvid. Took me hours to get all the clips together (that's always the most time consuming part) but I've got them all now and can start putting the vid together this week.
I've never been to New Jersey or New York so I hope to find some time at least one day to go sightseeing. Do I have any native NJ or NY folks on my flist? Is there an easy way to get from Newark, where the con is being held, into New York City? Will I need to rent a car or is there public transportation I can take?
So is anyone else attending EMC2?

Date: 2008-07-17 01:51 am (UTC)LOL! The friend I'm going with has been to NYC once before and even she said we should avoid driving if at all possible. :-)
Thankfully, as long as you can get to the train or bus station, NYC is very easy to navigate on foot.
Awesome! I'm not a stranger to public transportation, so I think I'll do just fine. *g* Thanks again for your help!
