Morning, everyone!

So...did we all have a good laugh last night? Ha! Me and [livejournal.com profile] charityflint laughed so hard I think we hurt something. :-) Heck, I'm still chuckling over a few things and can't wait to get home tonight to watch it all over again!

Oh! Oh! They played JunkFood last night! Yes!! They're the band that won the MySpace contest to have their song on SPN and I've been waiting to hear it. They played "Next to You" during the bar scene when Sam and Dean first start talking to the college kids. Love that song and I voted for JunkFood so it was great to finally hear it.

Ok! So on to Tina Charles's watercooler review of Tall Tales from tvguide.com and a few of my thoughts at the end.

C'mon, let's all laugh again!

(Keep your fingers crossed our ratings are WAY better than last week's. I'll be back around 11am CST with the numbers)

You oughta give those Purple Nurples a shot )

I joined the [livejournal.com profile] spn_fridayfive list and here's my first contribution:

1. Wendigos or freaky-females-in-white-clothing?

Y'know, I'm gonna have to go with Wendigos for this one, simply because it brings to mind Dean with peanut M&M's and his infamous line "Sweetheart, I don't do shorts."

2. Prank wars or towel scenes?

Awww, c'mon how do you choose?? Geez, ok, I'll go with the prank wars 'cause without the pranks, there would've been no towel scene! (So just when is Dean gonna get a half-naked towel scene, eh?)

3. latin-speaking!Dean or latin-speaking!Sam?

Dean all the way, baby! He just needs to speak it MORE.

4. FBI uniforms or suits + tie?

Hmmm....aren't they one and the same? But since they were also wearing kick-ass trenchcoats as the FBI agents in Night Shifter, I'll go with the FBI uniforms. :-)

5. Rock salt or holy water?

Oh, rock salt all the way. I just love it when Dean fires the sawed off shotgun one-handed in Hell House. Damn, that's sexy!

From Marc Berman at the Programming Insider:

Rounding off the 9 p.m. hour were the second-to-last episode of Fox’s The O.C. (Viewers: 3.63 million; A18-49: 1.6/ 4) and the CW’s Supernatural (Viewers: 3.19 million; A18-49: 1.4/ 3), which suddenly does not seem like such a good fit out of Smallville with retention of just 63 percent in total viewers and 70 percent among adults 18-49.

Half hour breakdown:

Supernatural
9:00 p.m. V: 3.35 million, A18-49: 1.4/ 3
9:30 p.m. V: 3.04 million, A18-49: 1.3/ 3

Well....at least we were up from the 2.83 million of last week, but Marc still branded us a "loser" this week. [sigh] This falling retention rate is just not good. :-(

And to compare, here's how the other CW shows did:

(I'm starting to include the ratings for Smackdown from the previous week, the day after SPN airs, because their ratings need to be taken into consideration as well, to compare against ourselves. I continue to be dumbfounded that wrestling pulls nearly 5 million viewers a week and looks to consistently be CW's highest rated program.)

WWE Smackdown (from last Friday): 4.82 million (SPN pulled 2.83 million)

Smallville: 5.07 million
Gilmore Girls: 4.31 million
Beauty and the Geek: 4.21 million
Everybody Hates Chris: 2.79 million
Girlfriends: 2.62 million
Veronica Mars: 2.62 million
All of Us: 2.56 million
The Game: 2.54 million
One Tree Hill: 2.25 million
