Well, my morning got off to an interesting start! I start work early (6:45am) and I'm the first one in the office. So there are no other cars in the lot where my office is located, which is on the opposite side of the building from everyone else. In other words, it's kinda lonely down at this end.

Anyway, we've got this flock of Canadian geese hanging around our end of the parking lot. One of them has made a nest there and we all see her out there every day. Well, when I pull into the parking lot this morning, the geese are in an uproar for some reason. Squawking and honking and a couple of them flew away to land on the building next to mine. I'm like, "what's with these guys this morning?" as I start to swing into my parking space.

And then I freeze. From around the back corner of my building comes a coyote, trotting as big as you please, like he owned the place. My mouth just hung open as he ignored the geese and trotted right past my car. All I could do was watch as this fairly large animal made his way across the whole parking lot and into the forest preserve which borders us on two sides.

This is actually the second time I've seen a coyote in our parking lot, but the first time it was a long ways off, not up close and personal! I kept thinking that if I'd have been about 45 seconds earlier, I'd have been caught between my car and the door to the building when it came around the corner. Yikes! Thanks heavens for some traffic getting in this morning. :-)

So yeah, there's my exciting wildlife encounter! LOL!

MEEP! I'm glad you were a little bit late, due to traffic. 'Cos yikes!

*hugs*

I actually checked airfares to Dallas, but there's no way in hell I can go. *sighs* Waaaaaaaaaant to GO.

I totally don't know what I would've done if I'd have been out of my car when it came around the building. Yikes, indeed!

Awww, are you sure you can't make it to Dallas?? Keep checking the airfares. There's always a chance they might actually go down. Would love to see you!!

Whew!

Holy crap! I can't even imagine that, knowing that parking lot like I do. I sounded like the coyote had a very specific destination in mind, so even if you were out of the 'Stang when he had appeared, it's likely he would have ignored you. Or run away. By themselves, they don't tend to be very brave.

Pretty crazy, none-the-less.

Oh! That would have been awesome to see! I'm so jealous.
It's been 30 years, and I still miss the coyotes that used to come sing under my bedroom window every night when I was a kid. I'd curl up on the end of my bed and wait for them. When we moved to San Antonio when I was 8, I didn't sleep for the first week we were there, because I wasn't used to the sounds of a city all night long, and there were no coyotes to sing me to sleep.

(Guess it's kind of obvious where I got my name, huh?)

I have to admit I was a bit freaked at first, but as I continued to watch him I was like wow, that was pretty cool! :-)

I'd never even heard a coyote until three years ago, when I was in Big Bear, CA on vacation, staying in a cabin. It made me jump that first night, being so unused to hearing that sound, but I quickly came to like it the rest of the week we were there. :-)

Did you ever think of moving back to where you grew up, so you could hear them again?

(Guess it's kind of obvious where I got my name, huh?)

Yes! I was actually wondering if you'd see this and make a comment here!

Hee ^_^ Coyote! I just lived vicariously through you for a moment there.

Psst. You remember Fangoria Remix (http://spikess.livejournal.com/187880.html)? I'm working on the sequel, and I've got a guest spot reserved for you in the fic if you want it ^_~ All I need is to know how you want to be described.

It was kinda scary but neat at the same time!

You're doing a sequel to Fangoria Remix?? No way! Geez, that story was priceless. :-)

All I need is to know how you want to be described.

You want me in it?? Wow, thanks! Totally cool! Geez, describe me? Hmm...slim, blonde, hyper-active, glasses-wearing fangirl with a huge crush on Jensen/Dean. :-) How's that? Hee!

A lot of the great things in life are like that ^_~

Aww, thanks ^_^ The sequel will be a quick look at the wacky things that happen over the rest of the convention, which is basically Jared trying to convince people that it's really him and Jensen convincing people that he's an Ackles-look-a-like. But I've got some nifty moments in it, mostly comprised of stuff that has really happened at conventions I've been to, so I think it'll be as good as the first one. ^_^

How's that? Hee!

That works! *snickers evilly* I think you'll like your part... of course, I'm not telling you a thing about it ^_~ Will let you know as soon as it's posted.

Hopefully the fic will turn out as good on paper as it is in my head.

Of course I'll let you know when it's posted! It'll probably take a few more weeks - work is hectic and my muses have been giving me the most cracktastic plotbunnies.

Wildlife . . . and CW's summer schedule

Date: 2007-05-02 06:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sen1995.livejournal.com
So yeah, there's my exciting wildlife encounter!

Sounds like good practice for what I believe is going to be an even bigger wildlife enounter - all you lucky ladies when you get a look at the living, breathing Jensen . . . in uniform! I am officially jealous and will once again, Barb, be living vicariously through you! I'm counting on you to give Jensen a hug for me!

Seriously, what is it with you and JoAnn and wild animals - first she is out driving near her home and sees a zebra standing in the front yard of a house on her route, and now you see a coyote at your workplace!

Some news: Futoncritic posted/updated a summer schedule for the networks today and SPN is going to be run in its normal time slot and at 9:00 on Sundays! I'm hoping this will not only bring in new fans but maybe, if it does well there, maybe it could be a new time slot for it next year . . . even though it would be up against football for part of the year, I still think it would be a better timeslot than Thursdays at 9:00. You can see the schedule here: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/guide.aspx?id=summer_2007

Lastly, I was at the imdb to check on Jared's movie (I wanted to see if they had information about when filming was scheduled to end to see if Jared might have time to travel to Texas to see a play in June . . . .). Anyway, I noticed that another actor appearing in his movie is Gina Holden, who played Haley Collins in Wendigo.

Well please keep your fingers crossed for me that this encounter with an SPN star actually happens! I swear I won't be able to take another cancelation. I'll have to make sure to get two hugs from Jensen - one for me and one for you! :-)

Ok, wait. Jo Ann saw a ZEBRA?? That has got to be explained to me!

Oh wow, a double dose of SPN this summer?? Fantastic! Very nice to see that CW chose our show to double pump. Great news! I, for one, wouldn't mind it being anywhere other than Thursday nights.

to see if Jared might have time to travel to Texas to see a play in June

Hee! Oh, don't tease me, Deborah! But couldn't you totally see Jared doing that, for his best friend's stage debut? Geez, now you're gonna have me straining my neck, looking for Jared! LOL!

is Gina Holden, who played Haley Collins in Wendigo.

You're kidding me! What a strange coincidence. Do you know what part she plays? Thom Kinkade's sister or girlfriend perhaps?

Oh, there's no way this will be cancelled. This is work - this is the *reason* that appearances have to be cancelled! Trust me - you are going to see Jensen - twice! I just know you are plotting how to get pictures - and maybe video? I so would like to hear him say "I want the truth!"

Ok, wait. Jo Ann saw a ZEBRA?? That has got to be explained to me!

Yep, isn't that amazing? Just driving along and, if I recall correctly, turned to take a shortcut through a neighborhood, rounded a corner, and there it was. JoAnn, are you there? Tell your story to Barb, please.

Oh wow, a double dose of SPN this summer?? Fantastic! Very nice to see that CW chose our show to double pump. Great news! I, for one, wouldn't mind it being anywhere other than Thursday nights.

Amen! It's going to be a long summer - it would be nice to see the boys twice a week! It would be nice if they didn't rerun the eps on Sunday - just show an episode on Thursday and then a different one on Sunday, to give people just discovering the show a chance to see more of them. And yes, any night but Thursday, but I'm really not holding out much hope that it will be moved.

Hee! Oh, don't tease me, Deborah! But couldn't you totally see Jared doing that, for his best friend's stage debut? Geez, now you're gonna have me straining my neck, looking for Jared! LOL!

Oh, I could totally see it - he is from Texas, too, so will probably be home anyway, if filming is done (or for a weekend trip?). And I don't think you will need to strain your neck much - if Jared shows up, you will know it! I would still love to see a picture of you standing next to him - okay, standing between him and Jensen!

Do you know what part she plays? Thom Kinkade's sister or girlfriend perhaps?

I don't know. There is only a first name for her character at imdb - Hope. I checked Kinkade's website (I suffered for you so you don't have to!) - his wife's name is Nanette (and she is described as either his childhood sweetheart or high school sweetheart, so probably the only girl he ever dated) and he has 3 sisters, none of whom is named Hope. So she's either a friend, classmate, maybe Peter O'Toole's character's daughter? No clue. But I liked her in SPN - I used my Dean Wendigo icon in her honor.

By the way, a guy by the name of Ed Martin has posted a review of What is and What Should Never Be. Apparently he got a screener copy or something (not sure how big a fan he is - he refers to Hollywood Bablylon a number of times, but calls it only Hollywood). It's spoilery, but I'd say we already knew about 95% of the stuff in ther - but it's the details that are new - and they make the episode sound even more heartwrenching than I was imagining (and believe me, I was imagining major 'wrench). And though the guy is mysterious about what happened to dad in this alternate reality, from one thing he says I'm afraid I might have been right. If you don't mind being spoiled a little more for this one and want to read the review, go here:
http://blogs.mediavillage.com/ed_martin/archives/2007/05/supernatural.html#more

I will only post one line from it here, because it is something everyone who comes by your LJ already knew:

This week's chiller, titled What Is and What Should Never Be, is another winner, and it features what may be the best performance ever by series lead Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester, one of the two demon-hunting brothers around whom the show revolves.

Yeah, but that's just till the finale!

Note to self: pick up lots of Kleenex!
From: [identity profile] agt-spooky.livejournal.com
Oh, there's no way this will be cancelled. This is work - this is the *reason* that appearances have to be cancelled!

Ha! Good point!

I just know you are plotting how to get pictures - and maybe video? I so would like to hear him say "I want the truth!"

Who me? Plotting to video tape something? [snicker] You know me too well, Deborah! LOL!

JoAnn, are you there? Tell your story to Barb, please.

Yes, please, Jo Ann! A zebra?? I must know!

Amen! It's going to be a long summer - it would be nice to see the boys twice a week! It would be nice if they didn't rerun the eps on Sunday

Yeah, I mean really, why repeat the same episode twice? It's already a rerun - show two different ones!

And yes, any night but Thursday, but I'm really not holding out much hope that it will be moved.

[sigh] Unfortunately me, too. Why can't they see how much better it did on Tuesday nights and how much it could flourish if put back there??

And I don't think you will need to strain your neck much - if Jared shows up, you will know it!

Ha! Yeah, he'd be pretty easy to spot, wouldn't he? :-)

I would still love to see a picture of you standing next to him - okay, standing between him and Jensen!

Oh god, be still my beating heart! I'd so look like a midget between those two. :-)

I don't know. There is only a first name for her character at imdb - Hope. I checked Kinkade's website (I suffered for you so you don't have to!)

Hee! Thanks for doing that. So her character is still a mystery. Hmmm...oh well, it'll still be nice to see her again. I liked her in Wendigo, too.

By the way, a guy by the name of Ed Martin has posted a review of What is and What Should Never Be

Can you believe I actually contained myself and haven't clicked on the link you gave me?? What's with me lately with not wanting to be any more spoiled??

and they make the episode sound even more heartwrenching than I was imagining (and believe me, I was imagining major 'wrench)

Oh geez, this one's gonna kill us, isn't it?

And though the guy is mysterious about what happened to dad in this alternate reality, from one thing he says I'm afraid I might have been right.

Hmmm....some kind of illness or accident then?

and it features what may be the best performance ever by series lead Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester,

Oh. My. God. Lots of kleenex is right! I'm gonna be a mess by the end of this episode, I just know it!
