I worked late tonight and just got home, but I had a chance to see these pictures during my dinner break this evening and thought about them the rest of the night. I so love these boys and for the life of me I can't figure out how this episode is going to go.
In that one picture, is that the strange girl that Dean sees who makes him start remembering his old life? I wonder if it starts at this party? There are a couple of pictures where Mom, Jess, Carmen and Sam seem to be looking strangely at something, like maybe Dean starts talking to this girl (who I would guess the others couldn't see, or something like that? I don't know, but I sure want to see this!

Date: 2007-04-19 01:42 pm (UTC)That was my thought as well. She looks kinda...dead, you know? Like she's a spirit appearing to Dean. And yes, the rest of them do seem to be looking at Dean weirdly, like he's said something that makes no sense, to them at least.
I'm also wondering where John is. Why isn't he having dinner with the rest of them?

Date: 2007-04-21 05:11 am (UTC)You know, I made a comment earlier to one of your other posts about John's gravestone, saying that I wondered if it was actually from Ep20 instead of the finale but then discounting that, mainly because of the year of death on the stone (2006). But I've been thinking more about it and am really starting to think that Dad might be dead in this reality. Why else would he not be in these pictures or mentioned in some of the episode blurbs we've seen? And it would be a great way to add even more angst to Dean - that even in this reality where they never went into hunting his Dad is gone also.
Just a thought. I want to see this episode now!

Date: 2007-04-22 08:39 pm (UTC)Ahh, really? I really didn't want to be right about him being dead! So if that is the case, I wonder how? As the gravestone says 2006, it would have been fairly recent, which would mean that John would be in his early 50's (do I recall correctly that he was born in 1954 just like Mary - and me! - which would make him 52 in 2006). What do we know about John - that he was in the Marines, co-owned an automobile repair shop, and was married to Mary and they had two children. One would assume from the way things appeared to be in the pilot ep that he and Mary would still be happy together and I suppose he would still be in the automobile repair business (but I suppose both of those things could easily not be true -- though I would hate to think that Mary lived and yet she and John got divorced!). So maybe he died of some sorta normal thing, like cancer or something? Or got hit by a car, or had an accident at work? Or could he have been in the military reserves and got shipped to Iraq? All speculation, of course. I tend to go with the disease/accident thing, something to show Dean that even though his Dad never got into hunting, he still died, and didn't die while saving someone.
So maybe he appears in a flashback? Maybe he appears to Dean to tell him that he needs to snap out of this dream reality and get back to protecting Sammy? Who knows - but I want to see this episode so bad!

Man, I am totally befuddled as to how they're going to work him into this episode. Who knows, maybe at the very end of this episode, after Dean gets back to the real world something happens that is a springboard taking us into the finale - Sam has a vision of John, perhaps? Kinda along the lines of the end of Asylum where Dad calls at the very end. It had nothing to do with Asylum itself, you know?
Ok, geez, is it time for this episode yet?? LOL!

Date: 2007-04-22 10:08 pm (UTC)Also, in two pictures you can see that Jess also has a ring on her left ring finger - someone on one of my lists wondered if these pictures might be from Jess and Sam's engagement party. My thought was that if Sam was looking for rings before Jess died in the other reality then it would now be about 18 months later than that in this reality so I'm thinking if it has anything to do with Jess and Sam that it might be a rehearsal dinner. But I'm actually leaning more towards it being Sam's birthday - this will air on May 3, right, so right at his May 2 birthday.
Again, all speculation!

Yes, what is doing? And look at Mary's face in the third picture. This could be the slightly amused, but disbelieving "I can't believe my child is doing this, but what can I do" look, I often have when looking a my children :-)
