Hello everyone and welcome to Episode Six of my summer TV discussions. :-)
Since most of our favorite shows are on hiatus and after the success of my TV poll, I thought I'd bring up a different show every other day or so for some friendly discussion - what you like about it, what you don't, whatever comes to mind. And who knows, if you're not already watching this might entice you!
So today let's talk White Collar!
I knew Matt Bomer from when he was on Tru Calling and Tim DeKay from Carnivale, so I decided to give WC a shot. Plus it looked like a great buddy-buddy show, and I've always been a sucker for those. :-)
It didn't take long for White Collar to become one of my most favorite shows. The writing was smart, the chemistry between Matt and Tim just sparkled on screen and I loved the supporting cast. Though I have to be honest and say I was a little apprehensive about Tiffani Thiessen, having only seen her on Saved by the Bell. But she's turned out to be fabulous as Elizabeth. Not to mention Mozzie, Jones and Diana. Love them all. The only character I have a problem with is Sara. I just don't think Hilarie can act her way out of a paper bag and I don't see any real attraction between Sara and Neal. No chemistry. I'm hoping we see less of her next season.
I love how well the show has walked the thin line with both Neal and Peter. Deep down Neal is a good guy, but he'll never not be a con man. And Peter truly cares about Neal, even though he's a criminal. It's an interesting dilemma for both characters and I enjoy how that aspect has been handled.
I just enjoy the show, period. I could gush about Peter and Neal's relationship till the cows come home, but I'll shut up now and give you guys a chance. :-)
So sound off about White Collar!
