Hey all, here's the cover to Rising Son #6 and the description:

Sam Winchester has been kidnapped, and his father will stop at nothing to find him! But the clues are few, and even if John does find the culprit, will Dean back him up in the fight? The shattering conclusion to Rising Son is here!

Man, I really love Dustin Nguyen's art!

Supernatural: Rising Son #2

I went to my comic book store on Saturday and picked up issue #2 of Rising Son, and wow, I'm really surprising myself by liking this series! Especially after the dismal failure that Origins was.

My thoughts behind here in case folks haven't read it yet... )

In case any of you are reading the Rising Son comics, here's some info on the covers and descriptions for the next few:

Rising Son 3

The sacrifices John Winchester has made for the "greater good" of hunting are tremendous, but he finally takes the biggest step of all: arranging a first "hunt" for his older son Dean. Is the young man ready for the horrors his father has hunted for years? Will he finally "connect" with an emotionally distant father in the only way possible?

Rising Son 4

John's decision to start his son Dean down the road to the dark world of Hunting has left him unsure about what to do with his younger son, Sam. There's something special about Sam — but is that quality to be nurtured or feared? Could a mysterious woman trailing the trio hold the answer?

Rising Son 5

After John's shattering realization last issue, he must come to terms about the possibility of who or what Sam is – and what to do about him. But will his decision be made for him when Sam disappears from their motel room? Could the mysterious black car that's been following them hold the answer?

TV Guide's website has an article up about the next six-issue Supernatural comic, coming this spring, called Rising Son.

Here's just a little blurb:

Set a few years after Origins, the story picks up with an 11-year-old Dean and a seven-year-old Sam traveling with their father John. "Whereas the first series was more about John and his becoming a hunter, this one's much more of a dysfunctional family story," explains writer Peter Johnson, who's also a co-executive producer on the TV show. "We're really going to explore the differences between Sam and Dean in this one. Dean is becoming aware of what his dad's up to and we'll see him training and hunting a little bit, while John will start to key in on something different about Sam."

Also, thank you GOD there's gonna be a different artist this time around. I only hope the stories are much better, because frankly, Origins sucked. But with Sam and Dean being older, I'm hoping that means they'll be more involved in this series of comics.
