It’s five months later and Jensen is nearly a full-fledged paramedic. But becoming a medic means no longer being able to work with Jared at Station 127 and giving up his chance at a promotion to Lieutenant. As graduation looms, will Jensen change his mind? Then add in a young man Jensen rescues from a fire that becomes an obsessed stalker, and Jared’s altercation with a victim’s husband that threatens his career, and things turn explosive at the FDNY.

SUCCESS! The story is DONE! Woot!

Yep, that's right, I've finished Playing with Fire, my Fireman!Jensen/Paramedic!Jared sequel to Light My Fire.

And here's how I did:

30,000 / 30,000 (100.0%)

My actual word count ended up being 30,044. I've now written my longest fic EVER. :-)

Thank you all for your cheerleading along the way, I really appreciated it. I've got a huge editing job ahead of me, then it's off to my beta. I hope to have the story posted in two weeks. :-)

I'm very happy to say that as of this afternoon, I've reached my 20,000 word goal for Playing with Fire, my Fireman!Jensen/Paramedic!Jared sequel to Light My Fire. YESSS!

20,000 / 20,000 (100.0%)

However...I still have 2 1/2 pages left to go on my outline, so I'm not finished yet!

Here's my next goal:

21,084 / 30,000 (70.3%)

I'm thinking 30,000 might be a bit ambitious, but even if I don't reach it, that's perfectly fine, because I did reach my 20,000 word goal and that's what was important to me.

So I've added a few more words to Playing with Fire, my Fireman!Jensen/Paramedic!Jared sequel to Light My Fire. My progress has slowed somewhat, but I'm still writing each and every day, AND I've passed the halfway point! Woot!

Even better is that wilde_moon made me a banner for Playing with Fire and it ROCKS. She did a totally awesome job and I can't wait for you guys to see it when I get the fic finished. :-)

Alright, so here's where I am right now:

12,544 / 20,000 (62.7%)

I've added 3,579 words since Wednesday. Yay! I'll probably take the weekend off and then hit it hard again on Monday.

sn_24lover got a sneak peek of the work in progress fic yesterday and she told me she cried with the scene that I left off with. Yes! Music to my ears! That was a hard scene to write and I was hoping that I'd bring some tears with it and I guess I accomplished it. :-)

So I didn't officially enter the SPN Big Bang challenge, but it's my goal to have my next fic be at least 20,000 words long, which would be the longest fic I've ever written.

I started writing the story - Playing with Fire - the long awaited sequel to my Fireman!Jensen/ Paramedic!Jared fic, Light My Fire, on Wednesday, and I'm averaging about 1730 words per day, which makes me happy.

I thought I'd do a tally thing here every so often with an update of how I'm doing, so you guys can cheer me on. :-)
