The weekend wrap-up

John and I spent our 22nd wedding anniversary on Saturday at the Scottish Highlands Fest. It was hotter than hell and we could only spend about 4 hours there before giving in to the heat, but we had a great time. How about some pictures? :-)
Here are the t-shirts we picked up - the Celtic cross for me, the Scotland one for John.
The first event we attended at the Scottish Highland Fest was the dog agility demonstration. All of the dogs ran the course really well, from the 2 year old puppy to the 11 year old senior. Always fun to watch!
We took a bit to watch the 56 lb. stone throw at the Scottish Highland Fest next. Holy crap, these guys were hurling that thing nearly 80 feet! Most impressive.
Besides all the dogs at the Scottish Highland Fest they also had several other animals, including this stunning falcon.
This year John and I got to watch a rugby match at the Scottish Highland Fest. First time I've ever seen one in person. Really fascinating to watch. And damn, those guys are gorgeous. LOL!
There was a British car show there, too. My favorite was this blue Triumph. Fabulous!
And finally, what's a Scottish Highland Fest without bagpipes? :-) We got to watch two teams compete. And some really handsome guys in kilts!
On Sunday we kind of paid the price for being out in the sun for so long on Saturday, as John and I both woke up sunburned and sick. And we didn't feel good for most of the day. I was able to go get my hair cut but that was the extent of my activities, spending the rest of the day and evening on the couch watching TV and reading. Thankfully I'm feeling back to normal this morning.
