Sam and Dean on Hawaii 5-0??
May. 9th, 2013 05:10 amOk, all the kudos for this find go to my eagle-eyed best friend
charityflint. She texted me and was like, "Did you see the Supernatural poster on Hawaii 5-0 last night?" I'm like, "What??"
Sure, enough, that IS a poster of Jensen and Jared on the little girl's wall! I present the photographic evidence:

Isn't that awesome? LOL! So you've got to wonder, who in the props department is a Supernatural fan? :-)

Jun. 21st, 2012 07:50 pmEvening, folks!
Here's a bit of a spoiler via E!Online for Hawaii 5-0 next season, regarding Steve's girlfriend, Catherine.
( Jess: You've been holding out on Hawaii Five-0 fans on the scoop front! Care to make it up to us now? )

Hey guys! I forgot to put in my posts about Grimm and Hawaii 5-0 that I'm looking for a couple of good LJ communities about them. Something along the lines of
supernatural_tv, where it's just news and spoilers, not fanfic and icons, etc. Can anyone recommend some to me?

Changing Channels - let's talk Hawaii 5-0!
Jun. 5th, 2012 05:15 am
Hello everyone and welcome to Episode Two of my summer TV discussions. :-)
Since most of our favorite shows are on hiatus and after the success of my TV poll the other day, I thought I'd bring up a different show every other day or so for some friendly discussion - what you like about it, what you don't, whatever comes to mind. And who knows, if you're not already watching, this might entice you to!
My dad was a big fan of the original Hawaii 5-0 and when I was old enough he got me interested in it as well and I really enjoyed it. To this day if I come across a rerun on one of our local channels I'll stop to watch.
So needless to say, I was really excited when I heard about this reboot. Especially because Alex O'Laughlin had been cast as McGarrett. I felt so sorry for the guy. Here he had a hit with Moonlight then it became a casualty of the writer's strike that year. Then CBS tried again with him with Three Rivers, which I personally loved, but also flopped. I had my fingers crossed that the third time would be the charm for him. And it was!
For the first time I was surprisingly okay with the gender swap with Kono from the original, unlike my feelings toward BSG with Starbuck and Boomer (really, don't get me started). I liked Daniel Dae Kim from Lost, but for me the wildcard was Scott Caan. I had never been a huge fan of his and was worried he wasn't going to have any chemistry with Alex. Boy, am I glad I was wrong!
I thought first season was firing on all cylinders, with the action, the cases, the first threads of the "mythology" with Steve and his dad, and of course, the characters. I couldn't have asked for a better bromance between Steve and Danny. Pure gold, those two were! And I loved the familial relationship between Chin and Kono, too. Let's not forget Max and Kamekona! Fantastic secondary characters. Kamekona is like Steve and Danny's "Huggy Bear". Hee!
There really wasn't much not to love about first season and I couldn't wait for season two, expecting more of the same. Boy, I couldn't have been more wrong. [sigh]
Now I have nothing against female characters, I really don't. As long as they're written as smart and capable of holding their own with the boys and not a Mary Sue, I'm totally good with them. I had no problem with the addition of Jenna, the CIA agent. She was smart and capable and I didn't feel that she was that intrusive on the core characters. I was actually sad to see her go.
Then there was Lori Weston. I nearly stopped watching the show because of her. That character was written so horribly and Lauren German could do nothing with it. It got to the point that I was fast forwarding through any scenes that she was in. Unlike with Jenna, the whole dynamic of the team was thrown off with Lori in the mix. We hardly got any Steve/Danny scenes because they wanted to shove Steve/Lori down our throats. With 5 people on a team, someone is always left out and I hated the entire feel of the show.
So you can imagine the dance of joy I did when they gave Lori the boot. Does anyone know why, actually? Was she only planned for so many episodes or was it fan backlash? Either way I didn't care, I had my show back! Woot! And I did enjoy the rest of the season immensely without her. Steve and Danny got back into their groove and I was a happy camper. :-)
So yeah, bring on season three! Can't wait to see what the fallout is from that cliffhanger of a season finale.
Now it's your turn! Sound off about Hawaii 5-0!
Book 'em, Danno!
Jun. 10th, 2010 08:23 pmI am SO ridiculously excited for the new Hawaii 5-0 next season. My dad was a huge fan of the original and when I was old enough he got me hooked on the reruns. And now with Alex O'Laughlin as Steve McGarrett - be still my beating heart! (I still pine over the loss of Moonlight)
I'd seen a couple of shorter trailers before, but this one is much longer. I had no idea that James Marsters was the bad guy! Everything about this show looks fantastic. Anyone else going to tune in to this one in the fall?
