Head 'em up and Move 'em out! Going offline

So 45 days after we told our jerk of a landlord we were moving out, the day has finally come. YAY!

My best buddy charityflint is coming over this afternoon and then my friend Dawn and her son Cody are coming over after work. We're all going to load up the UHaul van and our cars and make probably two trips back and forth with stuff we don't trust the movers to take.

And of course it's going to be POURING RAIN all freaking day. I'm so upset and pissed off and stressed out. It's not like we can put this off to another day, you know? We have to go today, no matter what the weather. It's going to be unbelievably miserable.

The actual movers are coming at 7:00 am tomorrow. Ugh. But it was the only time they had available. So far right now it's not supposed to rain, but that can change in a heartbeat around here.

I'll be going off line later this afternoon and won't be back on until probably late Wednesday night or Thursday after we get the cable and internet hooked up at the new place.

Wish us luck and I'll post some pics of the townhouse when I can. :-)

Good luck! I once helped a friend move in the pouring rain. No UHaul--my boyfriend and I had to sit in the back of a pickup truck holding on to a mattress as we drove 30 miles on the interstate. I thought it was hysterical, but my friend felt awful. He would have done the same for me, though.

LOL! OMG, at least we had a covered UHaul truck to protect us from the monsoon! But we're all moved in now. It was a long process and we're glad it's over. :-)

Know moving can be very stressful, but after you get into your new place, bet y'all are going to love it. Sounds as if the landlord and situation are so much better. Looking forward to hearing from you after you get settled.

We're all moved in now. It was a long process and we're glad it's over. Still lots and lots of work to do in the house, but yes, we know we're going to be much better off here. Just sitting there in the living room looking out over the lake was worth all the hassle! :-)

I have moved 3 times in the last 4 years and usually moved the same as you are doing, fragile stuff one day, moving van the next. Every one of those days was in February and it was either raining or snowing. Don't even bother trying to keep the floor clean!

Oh wow, 3 times in 4 years?? This is my first move in 6 years and that's too much! We're all moved in now.
