Well guys, we've come to the end of season one of Almost Human. Let's just keep our fingers crossed it's not THE END, you know what I mean?

Another good, solid episode. Glad we at least got a glimpse into Kennex's past, about his family. A few more highlights:

• Loved the whole review process for the androids. Rudy's comments were completely hysterical. Loved this one from Kennex: "Flipped a van once. That was pretty cool. Didn't know he could do that." Ha!

• Yet another classic car conversation: "You like to expose yourself while riding shotgun in the cruiser." - "I apologize for scanning your balls." ROTFL!! For those of you who don't know, that original conversation in the earlier episode was completely ad-libbed by Karl and Michael. I love it that the writers incorporated it again!

• The Wall - I kept thinking that this thing spanned for like, hundreds of miles or something, but apparently it's just blocking off part of this one city?

• Ooh, can I have a printer that makes a cupcake??

• Dorian singing Lionel Richie. LOL!!

• Dorian acting/talking like an MX. Priceless. :-)

• I find it interesting that cyborgs are a big no-no. There are apparently very clear lines between all-human and all-robot.

• I'll just end with this - nothing says "I love you" like a new leg. Awww!!

If this is truly the end of Almost Human at least it didn't end on some huge cliffhanger and everyone was left in a good place. Now all we can do is sit and wait to find out about it's fate. :-/

What did you guys think of Straw Man?

While I'm glad that the episode didn't end on a cliffhanger, there are still so many things left to explain. I want to know more about the other side of the wall! From what I've heard, the chances for a renewal are not thaaaat bad anymore. I read that Bones' ratings last week were actually lower, just like The Following.

The printer is awesome! I want one that prints every meal I want. Homemade lasagna? Or maybe some cooked vegetables. Everything you'd need lots of time and ingredients for really.

I really had to laugh when Dorian appeared with the wrapped leg. It just looked so funny to me :D

Thinking about the show's fate make me feel kind of nauseous...

On one hand I’m glad that there are still so many things left hanging so that there’s plenty of story to tell in season two. On the other I’m kind of glad that Wyman at least didn’t leave Dorian and/or Kennex hanging between life or death, you know? It did feel like he wanted it to be an ending if it had to be. But let’s hope not!

Oh my gosh, the food I’d have that printer make! Yum!

I laughed SO hard when Dorian showed up with the leg. That was SO freaking priceless.

If we have to wait until the May upfronts to find out what happens with AH I’ll pull my hair out.

I really hope that this show will be renewed, but until then, I wish someone could give me the proper order to watch the eps, so I can get an idea of what the show was supposed to be like, before fox decided to screw them over.

If you’d like to find the proper order, click on my “almost human” tag and look for my “Sleepy Human with an Arrow” post. The very first comment from violetraindrop contains a link with episode numbers, etc. They really, really screwed with this show.

I agree with you that this episode was a fun and solid one to watch. Do want it to continue and see what they do about the wall and the future relationship growing between Dorian and Kennex. And did love the bit about the leg. Didn't know they improvised the dialogue in the car. That was a big laugh.
Your glass "lava lamp" was nice though I can understand why you prefer color, although with the LED light it does make it look nice. Bet your easter egg is going to turn out splendidly.

Everyone’s comments have been so nice about my glass that I’m really looking at the piece in a whole new way now. :-)

Hope your ceramics class is still going well!

Oh, when Dorian apologized for scanning his balls, oh, that one killed me! And Kennex's face when Dorian was singing! Heheheheeeeee!

I found Rudy's review comments funny, but also a tad interesting. He would have been just fine if he'd said Dorian could care for his baby, but then he has to go off about not having a baby but looking for the right person. And then he obviously gestures and speaks to the only other man in the room about makin' babies. As I recall, he didn't really then try to retract his gay innuendo. I just thought that was kinda interesting, that perhaps Rudy is bisexual, and he's OK with it, though he's not OK with interviews!

If the writers are as good as I hope, and if we get another season *crosses fingers*, I think a very interesting episode could center around cyborgs and people like Kennex with an artificial leg, and where the line is drawn.

Regarding The Wall, I was unclear whether the bad guy was abducting people from within the wall, or outside it. I'm also wondering if certain cities have walls, as you mention, just walling off an unwanted sector. The one victim mentioned she was living in "New Pittsburg," so maybe old Pittsburg was now behind a wall.

And yes, I am glad we didn't have a cliffhanger. Goodness, I hope we get more of this show.

I just love knowing that so much of those car conversations are completely ad-libbed by Michael and Karl. Brilliant!

I picked up on all of that, too, and was thinking the same things you were. I think that would be kinda cool if he were bisexual. Makes it interesting that he picked Aphid as his screen name since they’re asexual. Hmm....

I think a very interesting episode could center around cyborgs and people like Kennex with an artificial leg, and where the line is drawn.

Yes, totally! Since Kennex didn’t purposely do that to his body there seems to be not stigma attached to him, but wanting to alter your body is apparently a social taboo. And I want to know much more about the Chromes, too!

Regarding The Wall, I was unclear whether the bad guy was abducting people from within the wall, or outside it.

Yeah, I think it was within the wall but I wanted to know why he kept dumping the fake bodies right near it. What was the significance of that?

I'm also wondering if certain cities have walls, as you mention, just walling off an unwanted sector.

Yep, same here. So many things left hanging! On one hand I’m glad that there are still so many things left hanging so that there’s plenty of story to tell in season two. Yup, I was glad that we were not left hanging if they decide, in infinite stupidity, to not renew the show.

Another good episode, but so many balls in the air left unanswered if we don't get a renewal. Honestly, it really felt like the showrunner tried to frame this episode as if it was a series finale just in case they didn't get a pick-up.

I'm guessing FOX is going to wait now until the May upfronts to announce the decision on this show. I feel like it could be a toss-up at this point.

Argh. If we have to wait til May I’ll tear my hair out. It’s just so not a good sign that Bones was moved into its timeslot, you know? But I’ll take it back even if it gets moved to Friday.

Friday would be fine by me if they would just renew it. Did you see that FOX renewed The Following and three of its comedies yesterday? No word on Almost Human. :(

[sigh] Yeah, I saw that about a minute after I responded to your comment. That's pretty much the final nail in the coffin. :-( The Following sucks so bad this season that I gave up on it. And yet they renew it??

I loved it! Karl & Michael have such great chemistry together. I was laughing when John was saying all the stuff he didn't say to the review board and Dorian's apology, LOL!

While I'll understand if it's the end (and I'm sure there will be more info at the ComiCon I'm going to that Karl will be at in a few weeks), I'd really like to know more about the Wall and I want to see John and Valerie have some quality time together :-D

I liken Karl and Michael’s chemistry gold to Jensen and Jared. It’s hard to find, you know? It would be a shame to waste it with only one season.

Oh man, if we haven’t heard anything about AH’s fate before you go to ComicCon, please let me know anything Karl says. I’m really hoping he’ll be optimistic. [fingers crossed]
