Since I've decided to no longer watch Supernatural because of a certain vile character who I now so despise I can't even look at him - I'm instead going to concentrate on shows that I actually enjoy!

Like Arrow! See my shiny new icon? :-)

I didn't start watching Arrow until around Christmas and as of last week I'm finally all caught up. What an awesome show!

Let's see:

• Oliver is da bomb! And Stephen Amell himself is a freaking riot, especially on Twitter
• I've grown to like Diggle much more
• Love Felicity to death! If she and Olli don't get together…
• I'm still on the fence about Roy. Do we really need another sidekick? I think the team's full enough
• Bring back Malcolm Merlyn ASAP!
• RIP Tommy Merlyn - I was really broken up about that
• Laurel - can we please get rid of her? She's the biggest black mark on the show for me
• I'm enjoying the flashbacks this season much more than last season
• Can we keep Walter and ditch Moira?
• The guest stars on this show rock! It's a fangirl's dream!

Do I have any other fellow Arrow fans on my flist? What are your likes and dislikes? Let's chat!

P.S. - Goodbye, Dean Winchester. I'll truly, truly miss you. And Jensen, I'm sorry you're stuck on a show that treats your character this way and has done for so many years.

Oh no, haven't watched this week's episode yet...was this the straw that broke the camel's back? I've been watching for years now only for the eye candy that is Jensen...but, it's getting harder and harder to suffer through the show just for that. I hope when it finally ends he gets another series. I'd like to see him on my TV each week.

Yep, I’m done. I hate to turn my back on SPN, I really do. But there is nothing at this point that Sam can do to redeem himself in my eyes. What he said in these last two episodes can never be taken back. He’s not possessed. He’s got his soul, etc. I’m sick of the way Dean has been destroyed systematically over the years so that Sam can keep being built up as the most important, the most righteous. So I’m through. I feel that continuing to watch is just supporting what they’re doing to Dean and I won’t do that.

This episode just goes to prove why I've HATED and LOATHED Sam Winchester since episode 1. He's such a selfish, whiny crybaby who only thinks of himself. He's not changed one bit.

I'm about to stop watching only because Dean is apparently too lazy to shave anymore and I cannot stand the facial scruff.

I’m glad I’m not the only one feeling that exact way about Sam. And that’s why I’m done with the show. I just can’t stand what a horrible person they’ve turned him into and made Dean into his whipping boy that just comes back for more. Makes me sick.

LOL about the facial hair. My friend Chris made the same comment and I told her that’s supposed to be our visual cue that Dean is depressed. :-)

I've been watching Arrow but I've been a fan of archers and Green Arrow for years, looks over at the pile of comic books and graphic novels... yeah.. I miss Tommy and I'm on the fence about Roy, although I'm waiting to see how they handle Barry Allen, I'm not really thrilled with Laurel but I do like her dad.

The only exposure I ever had to the Green Arrow was on Smallville! And I did love Justin Hartley’s version.

I still can’t believe they killed Tommy. I think he would have made a great addition to the team. I really liked Barry Allen’s introduction and I’ll be tuning into that show next season.

I didn't get to see much of Smallville as the ex kept the DVD's when we split, I may get around to it some day.

I wish they had kept Tommy he was an interesting character and not bad on the eyes.

I don't think I'll ever be able to give up on Supernatural (for weird personal reasons). That doesn't change the fact that it's probably still my least favorite show right now.

I stopped watching Arrow after S1 (I initially watched the first few episodes to get enough background for Seth Gabel's episodes lol) because I hate Roy. Actually, I realized after a while that I only care about half of the characters and only truly enjoyed the episodes focusing on the island. At that point I could still get away with skipping Roy's (and most of Thea's) scenes, but he's obviously much more important now judging from the tumblr gifs.

I loved seeing Seth on Arrow! Was very sorry to see him killed. But he played a great psycho!

Roy - yeah, I’m not really thrilled with him, but he is most definitely sticking around now that he has super powers of his own and is now Oliver’s sidekick. Not very happy about that.

I'm more or less watching it as a completely different show now. Sometimes I wonder what Jared and Jensen think since their Sam and Dean seem so out of character at the moment.

Seth's episode was the only one I watched this season ;)
He was such a great comic book villain. A little bit campy, but that was perfect.

I watch Arrow, but to be honest, half of the time I'm not sure why lol

- I do really like Oliver.
- I also like Diggle and think he's good for Oliver.
- LOVE Felicity. Next to Oliver, she is, without a doubt, my fave.
- I didn't like Roy, but knew he'd be getting a bigger role because of the comics. For that reason, I tried to like him more and I think I'm OK with him now. I haven't seen this week's ep, though, so I hope I'm not speaking too soon.
- I don't need to see Malcolm Merlyn back. Don't miss him at all lol
- I do miss Tommy though.
- I didn't mind Laurel last season but can't stand her this season. I know she's grieving (I guess) and I want to be sympathetic but I just can't. I want her gone. And she can take her sister with her. Leave the dad, though :)
- One of the reasons why I'm never sure if I actually like the show is the flashbacks. I don't like them. At all.
- But I'm with you on the Moira front. She can go anytime, as long as she leaves Walter. She can take Thea with her too, for that matter. Thea is a character I don't really like or dislike. She's just kinda there.

Sorry you're leaving Supernatural. :( I'll miss our chats lol

Diggle needs a storyline in this back half of the season. I still can’t believe they killed Tommy. I think he would have made a great addition to the team. Felicity can certainly stick her foot in her mouth *g* but I love how awkward she can be and how flustered she is around Olli. Yes please, can we dump both Laurel and Sara on the island?? Katie Cassidy is the reason I never started watching Arrow because I hated her on SPN. But my friend Chris kept dangling John Barrowman in front of me to get me to watch and I finally gave in. Still can’t stand Katie and try and skip as much of her stuff as possible. Laurel’s such a useless character! I totally forgot to mention Detective Lance. I do like him and hope he gets promoted back to Detective soon. Moira just grates on my every nerve because every word that comes out of her mouth is a lie. I don’t blame Walter for leaving her! The flashbacks in S1 drove me nuts because it was just Oliver constantly whining about something. But now that we know Slade is alive I really want to know what went down with them and also how Oliver and Sara got separated.

Sorry you're leaving Supernatural. :( I'll miss our chats lol

Not gonna comment on the SPN part, because we have very different opinions on that and I don't fight about it. It's one of those we agree to disagree things.

I watch Arrow and like it, but am not really invested in it. The thing that bugs me most:
How does anyone who knows him NOT recognize Oliver in his Arrow-outfit? I mean, seriously. So many people who know him well spend plenty of time with "Arrow" close by and that hoodie + eye-makeup (now replaced with an actual mask, which is a little bit better) combo really doesn't do much to disguise him (I'm talking about close range, not from a distance).

LOL on the “not recognizing Oliver” thing! I know! Especially in the episode(s) where he’s training Roy and is basically right on top of him, in his face. And then Roy’s all o_O when Olli takes his mask off. Seriously?? LOL!

You're giving up on SPN? I really wish I could. There is nothing left of the show I once loved so much. It's just an hour of the asshole Sammy show now. :( But I just can't turn my back on Dean and Jensen. Dean was just so ripped apart and broke at the end of the last episode. *sobs* Amazing work by Jensen.

Sam on the other hand? I hope he dies slow and bloody.

Arrow, I sort of watch. It's on while I'm busy doing other things, so I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I know enough to get by. LOVED Tommy! Felicity is awesome. Laurel and Sara can go live on the island and never come back. The dad seems okay though. I actually like Moria, and I guess Oliver is okay.LOL. The flashbacks drive me bonkers. And Roy, eh.

*Edited to fix my Moria mistake, I meant Thea...but either way I like them both.

So sorry about your breakup with Supernatural (I must email you about this! I want to understand!), but let me just say I love Arrow so very very very much. Have watched it from the very first episode, and it's always one of the highlights of my week! I don't always really know what's going on -- the mythology is dense and lots of characters are based on the comics of which I know nothing --- but I love all these people greatly.
Hmmm....perhaps I shall also try to entice you to Teen Wolf?

You know you and I are on the same page WRT SPN. I've only been sticking around this long for Jensen/Dean anyway. And they want me to hate Sam, fine, I hate him.

As for Arrow, I love it! I've been a fan since it premiered, and I'm happy to hear you've gotten on board the Arrow Love Train! I honestly do think it's the best show the CW airs. :D

I'm normally all about the Olicity - though I admit last night my girl kind of pissed me off. But, still, I think she's the one Oliver should end up with. At the same time, I'm not so broken up about him hooking up with Sara last night. They're pretty hot together - especially when they're both suited up. ROWR!!!!

What this year's flashbacks, especially last night's, have proved to me is that Oliver was always with the wrong sister anyway. He and Sara were far more suited to each other than he and Laurel.

Katie Cassidy is DREADFUL in this role. I know she's a lightweight actress, but there is something seriously off with her here. And she looks absolutely awful - like the poster child for anorexia. I honestly don't know why the network and studio haven't stepped in - she looks that sickly to me.

I know Moira's a bad girl, but, dammit, I can't help but love her a little bit. LOL! I think it's because I really like the actress. And Walter is a doll! I wish they could find their way back to each other. ;)

I thought it was a bit out of character for her to suddenly confront Moira like that and then to tell Oliver, to insert herself into the Queen’s lives like that. Not that I’m not glad that Oliver finally told Moira where to go!

At the same time, I'm not so broken up about him hooking up with Sara last night. They're pretty hot together - especially when they're both suited up. ROWR!!!!

LOL! I knew that was coming! Though her hooking up with Nyssa I never saw coming!

He and Sara were far more suited to each other than he and Laurel.

I absolutely agree. I don’t think the actress is all that great, but character wise, yes.

Katie Cassidy is DREADFUL in this role. I know she's a lightweight actress, but there is something seriously off with her here. And she looks absolutely awful - like the poster child for anorexia

Still can’t stand Katie and try and skip as much of her stuff as possible. Laurel’s such a useless character! And it’s interesting that you mention her appearance - Chris said the same thing to me. She really does look terrible. Her face is all drawn in and her legs look like sticks. I do wonder if there is a serious problem there. If so, I really do hope she can get some help.

I know Moira's a bad girl, but, dammit, I can't help but love her a little bit. LOL!

LOL! But OMG, every word out of her mouth is a lie! Are we even supposed to believe that Robert was unfaithful or is that another story she told?

And Walter is a doll! I wish they could find their way back to each other. ;)

I absolutely love that actor and I’m glad that at least they’ve brought him back in some capacity.

I haven't watched SPN since sometime last season. I just got tired of the angel/demon/god kill Sam/Dean again stuff. Seriously, I want old school SPN back. Saving people, hunting things.

Do love Arrow though! Stephen Amell... can't wait to meet him and hopefully get a pic with him at the ComiCon up here! He's a riot and is so passionate about the show. Okay, he's got a great body too, LOL!

Felicity - love her! A geek after my own heart! Would love for her to get Ollie.

Digs - he's grown on me. He needs some story of his own again.

Laurel & her sister - I don't know who bugs me more so I try to ignore them both.

Slade - can't help but have a little love for the bad guy, LOL!

Have to squee a little whenever Nick Lea is on screen :-D

Thea - I go back and forth with her. Sometimes she's just too whiny but then she is only 18/19.

Yes on Walter, no on Moira. Want both Malcom and Tommy Merlin back!

Roy - he's okay. I have no desire to have him killed yet.

yes, I imagined that,, the two lasts episodes,, wow they are really making Sam a villain in this story (and that withour counting Sam leaving Dean on Purgatory).... I would like to know what Eric thinks about the story,,,

I don't know why, but I can't stop watching it,, I'm so hooked, I need to know what's going to happen.... Its funny cause there are a lot of series I've stopped watching them cause I didn't like the story anymore or they were changing a lot of the storyline,, but with spn,,, I don't know, maybe the writers found a way to bewitch some of us, so we couldn't stop watching spn.

Something inside me is hoping all Sam is doing, all hateful things he said in this episode and last one, was because of Cain's mark, maybe that mark is making the brothers to separate them, or maybe Gadreel esence that is still in Sam is doing something in Sam,,

cause Sam is telling so hateful things in those two episodes, especially in last one "The Purge", and they were said intentionally to hurt Dean.

Every line was directly to attack him

the:

-"You think you're my savior, my brother, the hero. You swoop in, and even when you mess up, you think what you're doing is worth it because you've convinced yourself you're doing more good than bad... But you're not. "

that was totally just to put Dean down, I seriously was :O

then this:

-"You are certainly willing to do the sacrificing as long as you're not the one being hurt."

I was: "I'm sorry??? Do you remember when he went to hell for 30 years? "

Those statements were said just to hurt Dean in all the things he loves.

well that's what I wish, but I remember what happened on season 8, Sam leaving Dean in Purgatory, so, who knows?

While I do hope that’s the case - that Sam is under the influence of something, how many times are we going to do this?? It goes all the way back to Asylum when Sam was possessed by the doctor, for crying out loud! It’s old and unimaginative and sloppy writing. But I guess I’d rather have that than have Sam really mean all the hateful things he said to Dean.

I'm sorry you're leaving SPN. I'll never leave it, unless they kill off Sam &/or Dean, but that's not gonna happen. :P

You need to tear down characters to build them up again and I know the show will give us a satisfying and wonderful resolution to all this angst and pain by season's end. They'll get the boys out of that tree, it's just going to take a little time. The writers themselves have said this won't last, that the brothers will reach a resolution, we simply have to be patient. I can't wait to see what happens, despite them causing me heartbreak week after week (and it's so delicious!).

As for Arrow, I love it as well and I also keep wishing Felicity and Oliver could be a couple. ♥ :) If you love Stephen on Twitter you need to follow him on Facebook. He occasionally answers fan questions via video. It's so very cool! He's a neat guy.

I really appreciate all the terrific female characters they have on the show. I don't think that much of the lead character, actually - he's all strong-jawed hero and unfortunately it strikes me as a bit one-note. I actually started watching it in season one, but it didn't hold me beyond a couple of episodes. I gave it another chance with S2 and with the larger cast of characters, I like it better.

I agree that the character of Laurel is very hard to sympathize with. I'm curious where they are going with her. My current theory is that they are grooming her to turn into a villain, but that might be wishful thinking on my part. :)

Actually, Stephen Amell is highly underrated. He's an awesome actor. All the proof you need for that is to watch the ep where he plays present day Oliver, Oliver before the island, and Oliver on the island. And every incarnation is different, yet recognizably the same character at the same time

I was commenting on the characters, not the actors. No need to jump to Amell's defense. ;)

There’s just something about those tough strong-jawed heroes that get to me. :-)

Laurel is just so...blah. As the seasons have progressed I’m failing to see what the point in her character is. Though I do like your theory she might become a villian. Anything to keep her away from Oliver! LOL!

One of my favorite female characters is Cyn, Roy’s friend. I hope they use her more.

I love Oliver, Amell is awesome.

Diggle is amazing, I like him better with each ep. (and why aren't there more people shipping him and Olliver?*grumble)

I love Thea and Moira and Walter.

I like Felicity and Sarah.

I'm ok with Laurel.

I loved Tommy, missing him so much.

Not sure about Sebastian Blood, don't think him and Slade are quite as interesting as Merlyn was.

Not a big fan of the island flashbacks though.

I love that not only is Oliver a great character, but Stephen is a great person.

I was totally shipping Oliver and Tommy. [sob]

I love Thea and Moira and Walter.

I don’t think I’m ever going to warm up to Moira!

I loved Tommy, missing him so much.

I know Tommy’s death was a turning point for Oliver, but I feel that it was such a waste.

Not sure about Sebastian Blood, don't think him and Slade are quite as interesting as Merlyn was.

Totally agree about Sebastian. He’s kind of blah. I think Slade’s got more ruthlessness in there than we’ve seen. I think things are going to get very interesting with him soon.

I did read recently that Malcolm is supposed to turn out to be the Big Bad in the back half of the season. Fine by me!

Me!!!

I started to watch it since the first episode and I loved it! Just, in the first season I really dislike the island scenes the plot over that was crappy! The bad guy just wanted to attack a dammn plan and that's it? why wanted to keep hostage Oliver, if he wanted totally other thing. He could kill Oliver and end of the show. Because Oliver didn't have a space on that plot. But, this season FINALLY have a sense,a point the island plot. Just, one thing that didn't like to much, was that now the bad guy is Olliver's friend. Why until now he decided to appear and not before??? That's writers fault. Why get out a bad guy until now, when he has been all this time?that's trash. But for the rest everything is fine. Well, one thing. Haven't you notice that Laurel o the actress is loosing weight on her face? her jaw is thinner than before, like anorexic.

........

• Love Felicity to death! If she and Olli don't get together…

---I saw in one article, that the writers will do that, but not in the close future.

• I'm still on the fence about Roy. Do we really need another sidekick? I think the team's full enough

---- Well, they need someone with more physical power. Oliver does not have it and Roy has it. Maybe, just while the oliver's island friend ( I forgot the name) is around, they need someone with super power to fight against him. Maybe, some times the Roy character will be put aside because not always they will require someone with the force of him.

• Bring back Malcolm Merlyn ASAP!

---I wonder how he got back from death. But, I don't remember ( and I have been lazy about getting back to the lasts episodes how he died?)

• Laurel - can we please get rid of her? She's the biggest black mark on the show for me

---Hahahaha the thing is that she is a bad actress. And maybe she does not have a heavy weight on the show.Maybe you can get rid of her and the show is still good. But, what about the personal life of oliver, without Laurel you don't have anything.

• I'm enjoying the flashbacks this season much more than last season
They have a point!!! IN the last season that was pointless.

• Can we keep Walter and ditch Moira?

I don't think so,i read somewhere that walter's actor has signed up for 24

Do I have any other fellow Arrow fans on my flist?

Yes, me! :D

What are your likes and dislikes? Let's chat!

I like that finally all the stories have a reason to exist. have a story to tell about the characters life. Maybe, Laurel's story is a bit "blah" I don't care, but still is a story to entertain, the same with Thea's story, there is not much about it but it is to fill blanks. I mean, if you have bunch of characters you have to put a interesting story or if you don't have one, then related it to the others in some way that is not boring.

Dislike: The bad guy, the came from nowhere after all this time? why? Just that.

P.S. - Goodbye, Dean Winchester. I'll truly, truly miss you. And Jensen, I'm sorry you're stuck on a show that treats your character this way and has done for so many years.

-----I think I saw three episodes of this season, The first one, the second one just forwarding it,and the third one the same. I couldn't stand seeing that now suddenly Crowly was so easy to catch when they couldn't do it in so many season, really? When he was able to disappear every time he wanted to? Now he was like a puppy, being the king of hell, AHA! MY ASS! And then, seeing castiel like a human all the charisma that that character had was gone. I truly don't know how many people still watch that show. Is just a crap, I think it was worst than smallville in its bad times. But, while the people watch it, the network will order more episodes. It is another samllville, and I am sure there will be a tenth season as smallville, pretty sure about it.

I have to agree - the flashback scenes in the first season were boring.

But, this season FINALLY have a sense,a point the island plot. Just, one thing that didn't like to much, was that now the bad guy is Olliver's friend. Why until now he decided to appear and not before???

Yes, the flashbacks this season are much more interesting. I don’t know what’s going on with Slade and where he’s been and what happened between him and Oliver to make them enemies. Can’t wait to find out!

Well, one thing. Haven't you notice that Laurel o the actress is loosing weight on her face? her jaw is thinner than before, like anorexic.

Yes! And you’re the third person to mention that to me! She really does look bad. I do wonder if she’s really sick.

---- Well, they need someone with more physical power. Oliver does not have it and Roy has it.

That’s actually a really good point! I hadn’t thought of it that way.

---I wonder how he got back from death. But, I don't remember ( and I have been lazy about getting back to the lasts episodes how he died?)

Oliver shot him in the chest with an arrow on top of that roof, but then he just left him there. Obviously Malcolm wasn’t dead!

---Hahahaha the thing is that she is a bad actress. And maybe she does not have a heavy weight on the show.Maybe you can get rid of her and the show is still good. But, what about the personal life of oliver, without Laurel you don't have anything.

Katie is a very bad actress. Hated her on SPN, too. You really could get rid of her. I mean, they got rid of Tommy and he was a part of Oliver’s personal life.

I like that finally all the stories have a reason to exist. have a story to tell about the characters life.

Same here. Things seem much more cohesive this season.

I couldn't stand seeing that now suddenly Crowly was so easy to catch when they couldn't do it in so many season, really? When he was able to disappear every time he wanted to? Now he was like a puppy, being the king of hell, AHA! MY ASS!

I hated all of that with Crowley, too. He’s such a great character, and they made him useless by chaining him to a chair in the basement. When they finally let him out it was much better.

And then, seeing castiel like a human all the charisma that that character had was gone.

I did like Cas as a human for a little bit. He’s always funny when he’s all awkward like that.

It is another samllville, and I am sure there will be a tenth season as smallville, pretty sure about it.

Oh I can guarantee that there will be a tenth season of SPN.
