Had a pretty quiet weekend. It was raining on Saturday, but the hubby and I went out to my comic book store to pick up my books, then went to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. Yum! I made him drive home so I could read my comics. :-)

Was beautiful out on Sunday, especially for being mid-October. Went grocery shopping, did laundry, and sat down and read the three new Star Trek Enterprise scripts I got off eBay. Collecting scripts for shows that I'm really into has been a hobby of mine for a long time. I'm fascinated by the differences by what was originally written and what actually ended up on the screen. Sometimes the changes are good, sometimes not, IMO. I was thrilled to finally get my hands on the script for Desert Crossing, one of my favorite episodes and I couldn't believe how different the end scene between Archer and Trip was written. While I would have liked to have seen a line or two of the dialogue kept, overall what was filmed was much better. Though I really had to LOL at one part. Twice now it was written or filmed about Trip teaching Archer to scuba dive and twice it was cut from the actual episode. :-)

But hands down, the absolute best part of the weekend was Saturday night. Thanks to my wonderful friend [livejournal.com profile] sen1995, I was able to watch the live stream of the X-Files 20th Anniversary panel at Paley Fest. OMG, it was so awesome!! David and Gillian looked amazing and they were SO FREAKING ADORABLE WITH EACH OTHER.

I swear they were like this for most of the panel, all touchy-feely with one another:

Gillian was a freaking RIOT, laughing and laughing about stuff, then getting David going and the poor moderator (a fanboy himself) was just trying to hold on for dear life and keep the panel on track. Ha! They were each asked to choose two clips and I couldn't have been happier with their choices - two were funny (Scully's autopsy scene from Bad Blood and Mulder and Scully shooting each other in The Ghosts Who Stole Christmas) and two were more...relationship driven (Mulder and Scully playing baseball in The Unnatural and Mulder and Scully dancing in Post-Modern Prometheus). They had so many stories to share, most I'd never heard before, and answered quite a few questions from the audience.

It was just a fun hour and a half, a trip down memory lane for a show that's still near and dear to my heart. And to hear David and Gillian talk, it still is to them, too. :-)

Let’s see, I’ve got X-Files, Smallville, Supernatural, Houston Knights, The Sentinel, Quantum Leap, Starsky and Hutch and Enterprise.

I often wonder the reasoning behind why things get changed in the scripts.

Wow, memory lane. Every Friday night, 9:00, was reserved for Hubby and me time with the X-Files. Gillian is still a very beautiful woman.

Do we know if Supernatural is doing Paley this year?

Don’t you miss “appointment TV”? Sitting down with your family to watch your favorite program?

I got to meet Gillian last year and she’s truly gorgeous in person. That wasn’t the best screen cap of David I posted, but he looked amazing, too!

No Paley for Supernatural this year, unfortunately. :-(

Just go to YouTube and search for "x-files paley" and it's all right there! They're seriously so cute together, now moreso than even when the show was one. Love them!
