Oh yay, another Monday. [sigh] I already know this is going to be a very looooong day at work and I'm not looking forward to it. :-(

How was everyone's weekend?

Mine was pretty fun. Spent the day and early evening on Saturday with my best buddy [profile] charityflint and the hubby. There was this new French Bazaar that opened up a couple months ago that we just found out about that we wanted to check out. Holy cow this place was a pit! It was indoors and at first we couldn't even find it because there was no sign out front. There were supposed to be 60 booths but when we walked it only 8 of them were occupied and it was like the worst flea market ever. Needless to say, we spent about 10 minutes in there and were really disappointed it didn't turn out to be anything.

Next we headed off to With Love Dessert Boutique, another new place that was having its grand opening that weekend. They specialize in all things yummy - donuts, cupcakes, pastries, frozen yogurt, etc. They were giving away all sorts of things that weekend. We ended up with free ice tea and samples of the frozen yogurt. We each bought a croissant and I also got a cupcake and John got a danish. We sat and ate there and everything was delicious!

Continuing on with our food day the next stop was a bakery called Nothing Bunt Cakes (clever, eh?). Yet another new place we wanted to try. We each got an individual size cake. I got cinnamon swirl, John got white chocolate raspberry and Charity got chocolate chocolate chip. OMG, SO GOOD! It put us in a diabetic coma, but it was so worth it! LOL! And in a case of bizarre timing, there was a car show in front of the bakery, and Charity is quite the gear-head, so we stopped and looked at the pretty cars.

So since the French Bazaar was such a bust, we took Charity to our regular French Market. She loved it! Most of the food places have samples out and Charity ate her way around the market. She said it was the best lunch we'd ever taken her to! She also bought a lot of stuff, too, from soap to cheese. I also got something, too. There was this coffee stand there and as soon as I saw their shirts, I knew I had to have one. Why? Well look at what it said!

They looked at me kind of strange when I asked if the shirts were for sale until I told them, "My cat is named Bean!" Then they all laughed and were like, "You really DO have a Bean!" They did have a couple shirts there but had no idea what to charge me since no one had ever asked. One guy gets on the phone and calls someone and the guy on the other end says $10.00. But when the guy hangs up he says to me, "I heard $8.00, didn't you?" Wasn't that sweet of him? :-)

We left the market and did have a real lunch afterwards at my favorite Mongolian BBQ place, Genghis Grill. I had some left over so the waitress was going to box it up for me but instead she threw it in the trash. Grrr…. She ended up giving me half off my meal for the mistake. Then we went back home and hung out for awhile, had dinner and then Charity headed for home. It had been really hot and humid out all day and with all the walking around we'd done I was pooped and ended up falling asleep at like, 9:30!

Sunday was a total slug day. Watched a couple of movies, did the laundry. Nothing exciting.

Though this week, after work, is going to be freaking busy for me. Yoga tonight and Tuesday night, my glass class on Wednesday, my Adobe seminar all day on Thursday and finally dinner with the hubby on Friday to celebrate our anniversary since I'm tied up on Tuesday. Yikes! I'm already tired. :-)

Ok your turn! What did YOU do over the weekend?

Sounds like your weekend was a great one. Unfortunately, I am just got out of the hospital so didn't get to do much. After a transplant one has to be careful, but somehow I contracted a n]pneumonia and am still fighting it. But I did get out a bit more this weekend. I envy all the stuff you get to do with your friend and husband. The shirt for Bean is great. I had to put a stop to my getting anymore T-shirts since couldn't close my drawer!
Glad you are taking another glass course. Really wish they would offer one here but alas no. I will be looking forward to pictures of your pieces though.

Oh, I’m sorry to hear you were in the hospital. :-( Pneumonia is no fun! I’m glad that you’re on the mend, though.

I’m so bad with t-shirts, too! LOL! It’s my only clothing weakness. I don’t buy shoes or purses, etc. but I’ve never met a t-shirt I didn’t like. *g*

Not only did I sign up for those two classes, but just last night I was also able to sign up for a stained glass making class. Now that should really be fascinating. Have to wait til August for that one, though. I’ll be sure to post pics of my bowl that I make tomorrow!
