Second Annual Pet Appreciation Day today!

Last year on May 2nd I started Pet Appreciation Day, in honor of my cat, Chloe. She had her photo in the Cat Fancy calendar but sadly we lost her just days before. So I wanted to celebrate her life and Mandy's as well. And now we have little Bean. :-)

So like last year I hope you will all post pics here of your fur babies, the ones you have now and the ones you've lost. And tell me about them! Let's make this a fun day all about our four-footed "children". :-)

And I'll start it off! Here are Mandy and Bean, the little stinkers. Mandy is 14 years old now and Bean just turned 1 year old last month. They continually keep us on our toes and bring us joy every single day.

They are too cute.. My boys Buddy and Mojo always have me on my toes..My girls Krystle,Gypsy and Diamond are always in my heart,as are my boys at the Bridge,Trooper and TJ.

Thanks for this lovely tradition - that´s what we can call it now the second year in. Chloe purrs over that :-))
You know my present chaos gang - still a challenge (Blood, Sweat & Tears, as I lovingly call it) but NO REGRETS whatsoever.
The ones I´ve lost are too many over the years to tell you about but they´re all warm memories till we meet again on the other side - what a hustle that´ll be :-)))

I’m glad I did this a second year (and I know Chloe is, too) but besides yourself only my friend Laura participated, which disappointed me. I know I’ve got a ton of pet-lovers on my flist. Was hoping for more sharing.

Well, last year I lost both Sheba (to Degenerative Myelopathy) and Edaline (to kidney failure). So now it's just me and Jimmy Page, the dog I was fostering and didn't want to keep at first. Now, he's not going anywhere. :)

And I still cannot figure out how to paste a photo into a comment, so you will just have to believe me when I say he's a cutie. :)

I’m so sorry about Sheba and Edaline. Losing one is hard, but two in a year is heartbreaking. I’m so glad you’ve got Jimmy, though and he’s found a permenant home with you. :-)

HEHEHEH! They're SO super adorable. I've got four of the little monsters around my house right now because my father in law dropped off his 3 with us while he hikes the Appalachian trail. I've got one that wants to be in my lap ALL the time and "no" is not an acceptable option, one that meows a lot and has eyes so huge it's like she's staring into my SOUL, and one that was feral for a long time and so is super skittish. The last one is really sweet once she gets to know you though and if you sit real still, she'll come out, give you the tiniest of meows, and then lay beside you. XD

This is Silver, she is 7 years old and she likes to eat, every time and everything, yes even napkins and kleenex :P

She likes to be around people, and she barks a lot when there is an animal crossing the street, and barks A LOT, but surprisingly, she doesn't bark when she gets by mistake outside the house, behind the patio door. :P

I love her, she is very cute :D

Silver is beautiful! Is she a weimaraner? That’s so funny you mention paper products - my friend’s dog does the same thing! LOL! How can that possibly taste good? :-)
