Germany - Day 7 and 8

Hey everyone!
So the Germany leg of my Great International Vacation is starting to wind down. But not before I did two more really neat things - visited the ruins of a castle and went to an amusement park. Oh, and went to France to stand along the shore of the Rhine. :-)
On Monday,
lausbub0402 took me to Rotteln Castle, which is right near where she lives. OMG, so cool! It was built in 751 A.D. There's only about half of it still standing, but what's there is really big. Had a great time wandering throughout all the parts of the castle, both inside and out, and climbing up one of the towers. What a view! It's no wonder they built it where they did.

Then yesterday we all went to Europa Park, the HUGE amusement park. It was my 40 and 1/2 birthday gift from Claudia. :-) I'm a massive roller coaster freak so this was the best gift! And I have to thank her for letting me borrow her husband for basically the entire day, going from one coaster to the next. :-) I was totally exhausted by the time we got back home, but it was SO worth it. I need to come back some day because you really need two full days to go through the entire park.

Tomorrow we're off to Ireland! The weather's not supposed to be that great while we're there, but I'm still hoping we get to do some sightseeing and take some photos. Don't know what kind of WiFi connection I'm going to have at the hotels, so this might be my last post until I get back home to Chicago. If it is, I'll talk to you all in about a week!

By the way, did you get to test your German on the trip?
