I'm disappointed to see such low ratings for this freaking AWESOME (to borrow Dean's words) episode. But I know Fringe and Grimm were back last night, so that didn't help.

That is disappointing, especially for such a great episode. And it doesn't really help that the new episode of Fringe was amazing as well (and had a great promo).

It was just like Frontierland last season. People went nuts over it, yet it got the lowest ratings of the entire season! I just don’t get it. I totally agree about Fringe. Loved the episode and how this season is chock full of twists and turns.

It is really disappointing. It was a great episode, and one of the best since the psychic episode, in my opinion. *Sigh*

It’s certainly been MY favorite episode, hands down. It was just like Frontierland last season. People went nuts over it, yet it got the lowest ratings of the entire season! I just don’t get it.

OMG, how could you lose with Dean, Ratboy and Josef all mixing it up?? LOVED IT! I swear I nearly fainted when Dean first came out of that dressing room and then when he put the hat on I did fall off the chair!

I think it was one of the best for the whole season, sweetie. I sure don't understand it.

Overall, it seems that this season has had much worse ratings than last season, which sucks because it's actually an improvement over last season. I'm wondering, with the numbers being so bad, if we'll get renewed. Sure, winning the PCAs helped, but I still can't help but wonder about Supernatural's future.

True, we were well over 2 million for all but 2 episodes last season, while this season we’ve only (barely) cracked 2 million once. Granted, we also have Grimm to deal with this season, but I think a lot of people weren’t happy with how Sera ran last season so didn’t tune in this year. Plus the fact that she’s now killed off two fan-favorite characters so that’s not earning her many points this season, either.

I know what you mean. Although Misha is supposed to be back soon, who knows if it will be as Castiel? Sera really drove me nuts last season with how herky-jerky the season's consistency was, but it got better toward the end. This season's episodes have been a lot more consistent, but the storyline feels like a retread of something we've already seen. Sera is killing this show. I wouldn't want to have to put that one my resume: "Took over Supernatural in sixth season, managed to kill the show completely by the end of the seventh season."

Because Sera wanted him gone in the first place, I’m sure it won’t be. She probably got flack for the sagging ratings because people were so pissed that she killed him off they told her to bring him back for sweeps. So to get even I’m sure he’ll be something evil that Dean will have to kill. Because it’s not bad enough that Dean lost the only real friend he’s had in years, now he’ll have to kill him.

Sera really drove me nuts last season with how herky-jerky the season's consistency was, but it got better toward the end.

She tried to do WAY too much last season and every storyline suffered for it. Look at Eve. The “Mother” storyline was bulit up and up and then when we finally saw Eve she was dead and gone in just a few episodes. Wha...? She was way too focused on Soulless Sam for 11 freaking episodes to care about anything else. That right there is what drove me away for half of the season last year.

This season's episodes have been a lot more consistent, but the storyline feels like a retread of something we've already seen.

Because we have! Gosh, where have we seen a Reaper giving someone a choice? Would that be in IMTOD? Plus countless other examples. Just because we wanted the feel of seasons 1 and 2 doesn’t mean we want them duplicated exactly, Sera!

Sera is killing this show. I wouldn't want to have to put that one my resume: "Took over Supernatural in sixth season, managed to kill the show completely by the end of the seventh season."

[snort] I’d laugh if that wasn’t so sadly true! The ONLY saving grace has been that the rest of the CW shows perform even more poorly than SPN. As much as I love Sam and Dean I wish that wasn’t the case because I don’t think I can take much more of Sera as a showrunner.

You’re probably right about the renewal if we can pull things back up. On the whole SPN has been a fairly solid performer on a Friday night against stiff genre competition.
