Morning, guys!
MAN, did I have a busy weekend. And in the middle of it I realized that I don't think I've mentioned on here since last year when I bought my tickets that I'm leaving for Vancouver this Sunday for the Supernatural convention. Yay! Myself and my best buddy
charityflint are flying out together and meeting up with our other very good friend,
hollylyn1217. The three of us are going to do the tourist thing from Sunday to Thursday, when we're then meeting up with my other lovely friend
lausbub0402. The four of us are rooming together and are planning on having an amazing time, including going out drinking and dancing one night to celebrate my upcoming 40th birthday. Hey, who else on my flist will be there and would like to come party with us??
So yeah, busy weekend. Went to yoga Saturday morning, then Charity came over in the afternoon and we had lunch and then went to see Cowboys and Aliens. Awesome movie! And how could it not be with James Bond and Indiana Jones running around together? ;-) We went shopping after that, then had dinner then spent an hour or two finalizing our plans for Vancouver, what we wanted to see on what day, etc. So far the weather forecast looks pretty good.
On Sunday, because I'm a total nerd, I went to see the Glee movie in 3D. OMG, loved it! LOL! The 3D thing isn't for me (trying wearing a pair of glasses on TOP of your own glasses and see how uncomfortable that is) but I really enjoyed the movie. Man, I wish I'd have been able to see that concert in person, but I was in Portland on the only date they were playing here in Chicago. I had to laugh because the movie ends and the credits start rolling and the dozen or so people in the theater all get up and leave. But I liked the song they were playing so I stayed. Good thing I did, because the concert came back on and they showed one last song! And everyone missed it but me. Ha! And then they showed that adorable "Mini Warbler" kid during the rest of the credits.
They showed the trailer for the remake of Footloose, which I wasn't interested in when I heard they were making it (because I love the original) but man, I've completely changed my mind. It looks incredibly faithful to the original and the kid playing Ren is kinda cute. :-)
The rest of the day was spent shopping and running around getting things ready for the trip. Oh, I also finished reading The Mythology of Supernatural. Good book! I'm not a religious person, so it was very informative for me to learn the meaning of many of the signs and symbols used on the show.
Well, I guess that's it for my weekend recap. Before I go, I've sold several copies of my Supernatural fanzine pdfs and I wanted to say thank you to those of you who purchased one. Happy reading!
So how was YOUR weekend?
