From Zap2It.com comes a short article about a returning guest star on this week's Supernatural. One that I'm quite happy to see back! I'm only hoping they survive. Then again, this is Supernatural. What am I saying? :-)
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Amber Benson made quite an impression when she appeared in a Season 2 episode of "Supernatural" as Lenore... a vampire, of course. She was one of the rare creatures that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) let go free, since she'd opted to live on animal blood instead of killing humans.
We're so glad that the writers remembered that they still had this particular character in their bag of tricks. Right now, the Winchesters need all the allies they can get. Benson returns to the series for the first time since 2006 in the Friday, April 29 episode "Mommy Dearest."
Sam and Dean interrogate Lenore about the Mother of All, who has been released from Purgatory and is now on a havoc-wreaking road trip across the country. Lenore isn't particularly forthcoming with the information, though. "Eve? I have nothing to say about Eve," she snarls. "I'm trying to stay away from her."
She reveals that Eve's voice in the heads of the monsters drives them to commit evil deeds. "They left and started killing again," she says of her friendly vampire cohorts. She herself has been hiding in a basement, trying to resist the call of the Mother. Catch the clip below and tune in on Friday at 9 p.m. EST on The CW to see if Lenore finally meets the wrong end of a machete.
I'm thrilled to see Lenore back! I loved her in Bloodlust. I was hoping she'd partner up with the boys to help take out Eve, but man, from the way that clip ended it certainly doesn't sound like it. :-( I'll be really irritated if the writers only brought her back for this one scene and then she dies. Hopefully the boys will be unable to basically murder her in cold blood. But Cas? With the way he's been acting, I wouldn't put it past HIM to do it.

Date: 2011-04-27 01:05 am (UTC)Missouri! Gosh, I loved her and I’m so upset that in the last five years they haven’t been able to bring her back. I know a lot of people didn’t like her because they thought she treated Dean like crap. I totally disagree. She just wasn’t going to put up with any of his bullshit and I thought she went about it in a humorous way.

Date: 2011-04-26 01:32 pm (UTC)So what was your post about? Ah yes, Lenore the vampire.
It's great to have her back, I loved her in Bloodlust and was always wondering what she might be up to.
Maybe she does team up with the boys? That would be much better than being killed by one of the boys, although I think neither Dean nor Sam would do it.
I'm not so sure about Cas either, he's really acting kinda strange lately and I don't know what to expect next from him.

I can’t imagine either of them just coldly chopping off her head. That’s just too much like murder and that would never sit well with them.

I’m pretty much hating what Sera is doing to Cas. You know it’s going to turn out to be him that pulled Sam out of the cage and left his soul there. She’s setting it up so that he’s written out of the show next season (like the rumor going around). He’ll either go completely bad and the boys will have to kill him (I will REALLY be upset if that’s what happens) or the boys will say they can no longer trust him and tell him to never come back. Either way the future looks bleak for Cas and that saddens me, because I love that character.
