Leverage - The Boost Job

Ugh. Another Monday? Already? Where did the weekend go? Apparently mine was spent being a slug for part of the day on Saturday, getting caught up with TV shows on the DVR and then house cleaning. Spent part of Sunday doing laundry and finally hanging up fannish pictures on my one blank wall in my den. Been meaning to finish that room for a year! LOL! Then Sunday night John and I watched the first 2 hours of The Shining mini-series that I got off of Amazon. Wanted to watch it because it was filmed entirely at The Stanley Hotel, which we visited in in June. It's so cool seeing so many part of the hotel that we also walked through. :-)
Many thanks to
deanvica23 for the lovely postcard I received on Friday. Thank you, sweetie!
And we had new Leverage last night! Woot! I again give this one a thumbs up, too, for unexpected revelations that happened. I love it when a show surprises me. :-)
So let's get to it! Here are my thoughts on The Boost Job…
• Okay, for some reason I expected it to be one of our team in that truck in the beginning that was being chased by the cops.
• Loved Parker rambling on about stealing cars and everyone just looking at her. "I was a car thief!" Ha!
"Tahiti. No, Hawaii. For two weeks! No, ten days." - LOL!
• "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride." Ha! Good one, Nate! I remember riding on that at Disney. :-)
• I'm not a car person. I'm lucky I can identify my Mustang and my Jeep. Was that a Dodge Challenger that Nate was driving? And it's really Eliot's car?? Sweet! I can totally picture him driving that.
• And Penzer's car - that's a Shelby Cobra, right? Only reason I recognize that one is because LaFiamma from my beloved Houston Knights drove that. Freakin' gorgeous!
• "Don't cross the streams. Ghostbusters." - "Man, I don't listen to you." LOL! Good lord, I could listen to the Eliot/Hardison banter all day!
• And here came the surprise revelation - more on Parker's backstory - stealing cars as a kid with another kid named Kelly, who left her high and dry with the police. I loved Hardison here. "He left you?" That was so touching. You can tell, yet again, how much he cares for her.
• Loved Parker telling Hardison that she has no idea how to break into that car, telling him to do it since he can hack anything with a battery. Ha! And then Hardison, "I got it!" and the trunk opens. [snort]
• Who thinks Eliot twirling a baseball bat is THE SEXIEST GODDAMN THING EVER? :-)
• And more with Parker - you can so easily tell she sees herself in Shorty.
• Holy crap! Eliot got hit by a car! And fell in the water!
• A wet Eliot is a pissed Eliot.
• "I got hit by a car - Get over it!" ROTFL! Oh, Parker, I love you. :-)
• The surprise Parker flashback with her as a child getaway driver made me laugh, but I don't know if it was supposed to!
• All the stolen cars were cop's cars? LOL! Good one, Nate!
• Aww, they got Shorty a job. I really enjoyed Parker's interaction with her throughout the episode. Well done.
• Did you all notice that everyone at the table had a plate of food in front of them except Eliot? Is he on a diet? ;-)
Another job well done this week on Leverage! And of course I'm still celebrating that we're going to get a fourth season! Woot! I've got my fingers crossed this means there'll be another ConCon next spring, because this time I WON'T miss it. I NEED to see Chris Kane in person for the first time! :-)

Date: 2010-08-02 01:40 pm (UTC)Well they have been saying that if we got picked up for Season 4, there would be another Concon. We were lucky enough to have front row seats this year...and it was FANBLOODYTASTIC!!!

Woot! Music to my ears!

Front row?? OMG, I would've died being that close to all of them! You lucky, lucky girl. :-)

Date: 2010-08-03 12:14 pm (UTC)Man, he just looked SO pissed....*snorts*
I reckon we'll hear soonish re Concon, cos they didn't give themselves much time to organise it this year.
Not only front row, but the most centre seats they had. It was wonderful and overwhelming cos the cast were literally just feet away from us, definately the best convention I've ever done, not just because of our seats but everything.

Yeah, they put that together pretty quickly last time, didn't they? Did things go off without a hitch or were there some snags? I can only hope it was better organized than the horrible SPN Creation Cons.
Not only front row, but the most centre seats they had.
Holy crap, no way! Did you just get lucky or were you able to choose your seats?
definitely the best convention I've ever done, not just because of our seats but everything.
I'm really glad to hear that, because I want to go to the next one and I've had it up to here with the crappy way Creation treats people. I want to go to one organized by someone else!

Date: 2010-08-02 04:30 pm (UTC)Ghostbusters, FTW. I love those movies. As someone else said, I liked that everyone had a little spotlight in this one. Although Sophie's 70s Barbie dress needed to be burned.

Date: 2010-08-02 05:21 pm (UTC)I was, too, actually. And I was also pleasantly surprised by Bill's acting ability. Isn't he a stand up comic?
Eliot owning a car much like the General Lee? SO not a surprise. HA!
I didn't even think about the General Lee! LOL!
Although Sophie's 70s Barbie dress needed to be burned.
I totally forgot to mention that! That sucker actually hurt my eyes. :-)

Date: 2010-08-02 05:25 pm (UTC)Yep. He's one of my favorites, actually. He's actually done a couple of sitcoms too, but they've mostly been based on his stand-up persona. Last night was completely different and I thought he did a great job.
I didn't even think about the General Lee! LOL!
For a minute, I actually thought it WAS the General Lee, just without the numbers. It was quite similar.

Date: 2010-08-02 07:01 pm (UTC)Eliot reminds me of a cat when he fights, so it's appropriate that he hates water..

Date: 2010-08-03 01:59 am (UTC)Me, too! They've done such a good job of that over three seasons. There's still lots to learn about all of them.
Eliot reminds me of a cat when he fights, so it's appropriate that he hates water
ROTFL!! Oh man, you killed me with that!

Date: 2010-08-03 05:35 pm (UTC)I've been writing down ideas for the sequel for a while now. I'm hoping one of them finally jumps out at me as "the one" so I can start writing. :-)
