Good lord, last night's Leverage episode was COMPLETELY MADE OF WIN! \0/
How much did I like it? Hmmm…let's see…
• Talk about fandoms colliding! Alona from Supernatural and John Schneider from Smallville. Awesome! Then we've got lines from The Princess Bride and The A-Team!
• Sing it, Alona! Wow, she sounded really good. I read an interview with Chris right before this episode, and he said he called Jensen and asked if Alona could sing and Jensen said yeah, totally. I do wonder how Jensen knew. It's not like Jo was singing on Supernatural! Did the cast go out for karaoke? :-)
• Look at bad ass John Schneider!
• Alona sounds very strange with that southern accent
• Sing it, John! LOL! Gotta love that music video. ;-)
• LOVED Parker dancing around the bar while pick pocketing everyone. Ha!
• "Don't ever do the smurf thing again." [snort] Eliot and Hardison's relationship is just as good as Parker and Hardison's. :-)
• "Worchester Studios" - I swear when I first saw that it said WINCHESTER studios.
• Wow, great continuity with The Two Horse Job, with Eliot having only been in love once. I loved the scenes with Eliot and Alona's character. He deserves some loving', too!
• ELIOT SINGS!! I squeed so hard I scared the cats. God, what a beautiful song. I bought it off iTunes immediately and have been playing it on repeat. My friend
celtprincess13 told me that Chris was playing his own guitar.
• Awww, Eliot kissed Alona's character! So sweet! And I really had to smile when he took out his earpiece. :-)
• "I just want your autograph." ROTFL! Eliot's face! Priceless!
• Parker channels her inner Lady Gaga/Bjork!
• Eliot chased by fangirls! I didn't stop laughing for about 10 minutes. :-)
• Good lord, Eliot in the studio with Hardison also had me in stitches. "Go ahead. Say 'pitchy' again and see what happens. I don't even think that word means what you think it means." ROTFL!!
• John S's character's ringtone should've been the Dukes theme. [snort]
• Eliot takes out the bad guy with a microphone stand! Woot!
• The fight going on in the studio behind Parker and Hardison had me howling with laughter as you keep seeing Eliot waving his arms and pounding on the glass. LOL!
• Okay, I want one of those t-shirt with Eliot's face on it!!
• Parker on stage in that outfit was awesome. Ha!
• John took out Eliot with a single punch?? Wha…?
• Alona steals the show! Again, lovely voice.
• Ah ha! I knew Eliot wouldn't have done down with one punch if it wasn't planned. :-) "If you're gonna hit someone in the stomach, make sure it's the solar plexus." LOL!
• Awww, Eliot could've had the girl. So sad. :-(
• Eliot's all set for another autograph and all she wanted was the time! ROTFL!
FANTASTIC episode and I can't wait to go home tonight and watch it again. I'm enjoying third season SO much more than second season. I'm glad that they're back to their winning formula.
Next week is the episode Aldis was talking about in his interview last week, where Eliot and Hardison are stuck together running through the woods for the whole episode. Oh man, can't wait! There should be some priceless dialogue between the two of them. :-)

Date: 2010-07-19 06:02 pm (UTC)Loved it, too - and a Christian interview about it
Date: 2010-07-19 03:55 pm (UTC)And I came across an interview with Christian where he's asked about Alona and singing, and he mentions our dear Jensen:
On influencing Tal's performance of his song:
- "I called Jensen Ackles who had worked with her on Supernatural-- Jensen's a good friend of mine-- and I said 'Hey can this girl sing?' And Jensen said 'Absolutely, man,' so we ran with it. You never know where the word of mouth is going to come from. I didn't call a director; I called one of my best friends who is an actor...I gave her a couple of pointers, but the girl knows how to sing, so I didn't have to lead her too far. She had never sang country music before so-- it's hard to tell people how to put heart into a song, but she already had that-- so I explained to her in full detail why I wrote the song. She got that whole concept, and she ran with it."
The entire interview is here:

And on a different note, JDM is scheduled to be on
Craig Ferguson again tonight. I love his appearances with Craig, partly because I just love Craig, but mostly because the two of them seem to have such fun together and we get to see a wonderful side of Jeff.
Have a great day!
Sorry!

Date: 2010-07-19 04:03 pm (UTC)Alona apparently has sung karaoke at some of the cons.
John S's character's ringtone should've been the Dukes theme. [snort] I missed his phone's ringtone (thank God for the dvr so I can watch this ep again and again), but John Schneider's ringtone was "Dixie", same as the General Lee's horn. So there was a little Dukes of Hazzard homage going on there!

Date: 2010-07-19 06:01 pm (UTC)I never even knew who Chris was when Leverage first started. I'd heard his name mentioned in conjunction with Jensen, but that was it. I was curious about this guy, so that's why I first started watching. And I was impressed! Then I had a bunch of people tell me he was on Angel, so next thing I know I'm borrowing DVDs from a friend of mine. :-) You had to love to hate Lindsey, didn't you? *g* I totally liked Chris' shorter hair back then, so these long flowing locks took some getting used to! LOL!
Definitely watch season one of Leverage. It rocked from beginning to end. I wasn't a fan of season two, because they added Jeri Ryan to the cast (Gina Bellman was on maternity leave) and I really dislike her. And because of Gina being gone a new storyline needed to happen and I thought the show went a bit off the rails because of it. But they're back in fine form this year!
As for Alona - tell me about it! How'd she get so darn lucky?? :-)

Date: 2010-07-20 01:17 pm (UTC)This season feels like they picked up right from where "The First David" job left off
Exactly! This season has a completely different tone to it, back to what season one felt like. I mean, I'm very happy for Gina becoming a mother, but the show went off the rails in season two because they had to invent a reason for her to be gone. I'm SO glad the team is back together again!

Date: 2010-07-19 11:05 pm (UTC)I did like Alona in this episode. For whatever reason I am not a big fan of Jo, but Alona did really well on Leverage. And I'll give her an A for her Southern accent.
John and I have a long history of me enjoying his singing voice. I've got him on my Ipod along with Christian. So I loved the fact that we got to here John sing as well.
And, of course, Eliot was wonderful! I wondered if that was Christian's guitar. Part of me was wondering if that was Dante's as well. Probably not, but hey.
I loved Parker's Lady Gaga/Bjork outfit!
I still have to download Christian's song. Pretty sad when you're so broke you can't afford 99 cents for a song. But I will get it eventually!
Eliot and Hardison stuck together running through the woods next week? I will laugh out loud!

Date: 2010-07-20 01:13 pm (UTC)This was totally classic Leverage - great from start to finish!
I did like Alona in this episode. For whatever reason I am not a big fan of Jo, but Alona did really well on Leverage.
I never liked Jo until Born Under a Bad Sign. I've never seen Alona in anything except SPN, so it was nice to see her in a different role.
So I loved the fact that we got to here John sing as well.
Total bonus! Chris, John AND Alona!
Part of me was wondering if that was Dante's as well. Probably not, but hey.
Oh, good thought! I know Dante's isn't very big, so who knows.

Date: 2010-07-20 12:36 am (UTC)Elliot with the fan girls was priceless. Chris is such a great singer and I love how he got to play his guitar in that episode. I have to get the song now.
Parker was so cool with all her stunts she did. The outfit alone had me giggling and then with her on stage LOL.
I so forgot that John can sing, he still sounds good.
I was also jealous of Alona getting to kiss Chris. What a lucky lady!
