THEY'RE GETTING MARRIED!!

Attached photos from ARD "Verbotene Liebe" homosexual dream couple Thore Schoelermann (as Christian Mann) and Jo Weil (as Oliver Sabel), who step in front of the altar in episode 3681 (air date tentatively August 27th) and are married by Dirk Bach (as Priest Hinze), in Cologne.













Sorry the pics are so small, but it's easy to tell what's going on.

I'm SO thrilled they're getting a wedding! They've been though so much crap lately and things have finally been getting back on track, which has been great, but I never in a million years expected them to be getting married. :-)

The folks on the FL community I'm on were going on and on about Dirk and I was completely lost. I take it he's a well-known German TV actor?

Thank you for telling me who Dirk Bach is! The folks on the FL community I'm on were going on and on about Dirk and I was completely lost. Now I understand. :-) I wonder how he's going to be playing a priest!

Yeah, me too! He mostly works as a comedian or comedy actor; I've never seen him in a serious role. Btw, there's a wikipedia article about him, if you want to know more: Dirk Bach.

More trivia: Cologne is regarded the gay capital of Germany. ;D It's a beautiful city, and I'm fortunate enough to live not far away from it.

Oh sweet! Thanks for the link about Dirk. Okay, now that I know a bit more about him I can understand why everyone was talking about him playing the priest. :-) Now I'm curious, too!

I didn't know that! Is gay marriage legal in Cologne? Or is it more of a civil union kind of thing? Is that why they picked that city for Christian and Olli to have the ceremony?

Gay marriage (that is: civil marriage, since churches still don't allow gays to marry) is legal in all of Germany, not just Cologne. But Cologne has been traditionally popular with gays and lesbians, the city has one of the largest gay scenes in Germany. :)

It was looking pretty bleak there for awhile, wasn't it? I loved the last episode where Olli tells Christian that he's still going to New York but that Rob is NOT going with and he's bringing Christian instead. :-)

I wonder if we'll actually see them in NY, since both actors were there for that convention a few months ago. Perhaps they did some filming for the soap while they were there.

Forbidden Love is great! Yes, it's a German soap opera, but if you click on the link in my post it will take you to YouTube, where the episodes have English subtitles. :-)
