agt_spooky: (SN-Sam and Dean (Scared?))
[personal profile] agt_spooky

Just finished reading issue #3 of Supernatural: Beginning's End and wow, what a head trip. Literally!

So far this was the most interesting of the three issues, as I went from being highly disturbed to highly amused.

Why you ask? Because Dean spends the entire issue carrying around Sam's severed head, having a conversation with him while the two of them solve the case.

I kid you not! It was both highly disturbing to think about this but also highly amusing as Sam's severed head bites the arm of one of the other characters.  :-)

95% of this issue is just Sam and Dean, which was nice. Before Sam gets his head chopped off they have some good conversations about hunting, about Sam and John fighting, things like that.

John makes an appearance right at the end, and his conversation with Sam is bittersweet, since we all know what really happens down the line.

So yeah, this was kinda a crazy, whacked-out issue, but I liked it!

Hey Barb,
short and stupid question ... is it a comic series? What is it about? Is the story from the past before the TV show, like SPN: Origins?
We don't have it over here, so sorry for asking ;).
Thank you!

Hey Dominik!

Yep, it's a comic series that's set right before Sam leaves for Stanford.

Origins was first, followed by Rising Son and now Beginning's End.

[snort] Wasn't it?? I couldn't believe Dean was carrying around Sam's head! It was both disturbing and funny at the same time. :-)

I'm such a terrible fan as of late with merchandise...but where do you subscribe to these? (I just checked out Amazon and no go...) Do you order them from Wildstorm or is there someplace else that has them?

I actually don't subscribe to get them as my local comic shop carries them. But I would think that Wildstorm would have a subscription service.

If not, I know that my own store does, through their website: dreamlandcomics.com

I'm telling you, it was totally bizarre! Nothing like having a back and forth conversation with the severed head of your brother! LOL!
