Just another Manic Monday

So how come the work week drags by and then the weekend disappears in the blink of an eye? Hmph.
Had kind of a busy Saturday and Sunday. John and I spent a good part of Saturday working in the family room/basement. John steam cleaned the carpet in the spare room, finally getting rid of the musty gross smell from after the flood.
Then we worked on opening up a bunch of boxes and getting more of my Star Wars stuff put away in the display cases. We've still got about nine more boxes to go, though. [sigh]
Speaking of the flood and my SW stuff, I have to give a HUGE public thanks to
matchboximpala. She's part of a book swap community and has located all but one of my lost hardcover books that are being sent to me at NO charge. This right here is why I'm so very thankful for the LJ community, for people stepping up to help others unselfishly. You guys are the best. :-)
Sunday found John and I grocery shopping then taking Chloe back to the vet for her chest xrays. Once again my little girl was fantastic and they were able to take the xrays no problem. We were given a CD with the three images on there to take to Radiocat next Monday when they admit Chloe for treatment.
Have you ever seen what the inside of a cat looks like? I was curious so I opened the picture files on my computer last night.

I was thinking a lot about taking Chloe to Radiocat next week. She's going to think we abandoned her, being gone from us for four days, and us not being able to visit, stuck in a cage all that time. I nearly started to cry. It's times like this I wish humans and animals could understand each other so she'd know we're coming back for her.
And now it's Monday already. :-( Back to the office and the same ol' grind. Bleh.
Oh, I've got a ton of comments to answer back from Friday, so bear with me.
What about you guys? Have a good weekend?

Date: 2010-04-26 02:40 pm (UTC)I'm sure the folks at Radiocat will take great care of Chloe and spoil her rotten. When I had to pick up Nicky from his surgery, they had this whole list of things he'd become accustomed to while under their care.
Which I did. Because I'm totally in charge.
*rubs Chloe's neck*

The folks there are SO lovely. They really care about the animals. And they don't admit more than 10 cats at a time so each one can have plenty of individual attention.

[snort] Yeah, sure you are! Just like we are with Chloe. ;-)

Date: 2010-04-26 03:29 pm (UTC)My weekend was...crap. My throat hurts like crazy since Friday afternoon. I'll go to doctor in half an hour (at 6pm), because I had to go to university today, so I don't miss the stuff for the exam.

That's a good point about Chloe. We probably won't be able to unglue her from our sides for two weeks after we bring her home. :-)

Date: 2010-04-27 05:44 pm (UTC)It´s so hard to give our babies away, isn´t it?! At least it´s nothing acutely life-threatening to worry about and YOU know that you´ll get her back. But I know your feelings so well....a few years ago I had to give one of my parrots to a vet clinic for stationary treatment for 10 days without being allowed to visit....how to make them understand that we´ll come back to take them home???....so, yeah, I can feel your pain.
*HUGS*

Exactly! It's going to be really hard. But I'm imaging her little face lighting up when she sees that we've come back for her. :-)
