Supernatural - Beginning's End #1

I picked up the new Supernatural comic yesterday and discovered that there are two covers. The one on the left is the photo variant cover and the one on the right is the normal cover. I know that at least the first three issues will be like this, with two covers.

As for the story - so far it's nothing groundbreaking. We all know that Sam hated the hunting life and resented John for pulling he and Dean into it. And that's pretty much what the first issue is. There was only one thing that I found interesting - whether or not Dean knew about Sam's acceptance into Stanford. I know that the comics aren't true canon, but I often wondered if Sam confided in Dean or if he sprung it on he and John at the same time. This issue gives us an answer.

PM me with the answer, cuz I don't want to read this comic series. The premise sounds kinda boring, unfortuantely.

Also--why the hell is John wearing a suit blazer for hunting? Anyone? Anyone??

Sam confided in Dean. It's just a one-panel scene where Sam is looking down at his acceptance letter and Dean is sitting in a chair across from him and wants to know when he's going to tell John.

Personally, I'm glad that Sam told Dean before John. I think Dean would've been so hurt if Sam would've kept that from him.

As for the blazer - LOL! I swear I didn't even register that until you pointed it out. I don't believe he's actually wearing that in the comic, though. :-)
