Jensen Ackles - A Few Good Men - one year later

Wow, was my weekend crap. I was unable to get more than a couple hours sleep on Friday, Saturday OR Sunday nights, leaving me like a zombie during the day. I don't know what's causing my insomnia, but it needs to stop!! And how come whenever I'm not feeling well and not on the computer for the weekend, there's an SPN con going on and I miss everything. [sigh] Looks like I'll have to head on over to Supernatural Wiki to get caught up. But yes, I do know the news about Jared and Sandy and it's not something I'm going to discuss here. I feel badly for both of them. I do think it is SO sweet that Jensen's family was at the con to see Jared, though. Awww!

Speaking of Jensen, it was one year ago today that myself and charityflint were in Fort Worth to see Jensen in A Few Good Men.



It's hard to believe that I was sitting there in the theater with Jensen just a few feet away from me. He was simply AMAZING as Lt. Kaffee and simply breathtaking in person. :-)

That spontaneous trip down to Texas is something I'll never forget. It was a fantastic experience and I truly hope Jensen does more theater in the future, because I know I'll be first in line to buy tickets!

The film A few Good Men was on here in the UK the other night and I sat and watched it and my husband said to me - "Are you seeing Tom Cruise or Jensen Ackles?" Like he had to ask lol! I would have loved to have seen him in that play and likewise I hope he does theatre again and I can get enough money together to travel to see it!

You know, I loved the movie before I saw the play and watched it just a day or so before I left for Ft. Worth, and I've got to tell you, IMO, Jensen blew Tom Cruise out of the water! I haven't been able to watch the movie again because all I want to see is Jensen instead! :-)

I hope he does theatre again and I can get enough money together to travel to see it!

I've totally got my fingers crossed he does, and if so, you must see him. You won't be disappointed!

I had no idea there was a con this weekend either, LOL! My Saturday morning was crap. Had to go out to a location and replace a POS system that died... before I even had breakfast! How rude is that? I didn't even get to eat until 11am.

Can you believe it? I've got the photo he signed with my ticket stub attached to it hanging in my cubicle at work and I suddenly realized on Friday that it would be a year today. Man, I wish I was back there experiencing it all over again!

I wish I could help you, Spook, but I break all the rules; I read in bed(romances, scifi, fanfic printouts, NO horror), I watch tv in bed, and I go to bed at different hours, midnight one night, 1 a.m. the next, etc., etc. So that's what you SHOULDN'T do. I've read that you're supposed to use your bedroom only for sleeping and sex--well, that's one out of two for me(hee)...

As for Jared and Sandy, well, things happen; after all, Jeffrey and Mary Louise busted up, and I was sad about that,too. But they're all adults, and things will work out, or not. That's life. For me, I think it's kind of odd that some fans are sending Jared sympathy cards--it's a kind gesture, but c'mon, people, nobody died; let's just respect their right to solve this in their own way.

I've never seen "A Few Good Men." That got me thinking (as I tend to do), what other movies haven't I seen, or just saw bits and pieces and never saw the whole thing? Easy.

1. "The Great Escape." And why not, since I adore James Garner and Steve McQueen.

2. "Bullitt." See #1.

3. "Flashdance." (I know a woman who is absolutely astonished I've never seen this, because she is a huge fan of the flick and loves Michael Nouri(urk). And she's crazy about "Top Gun," which I also haven't seen. I can take Tom Cruise in limited doses now, because of the couch-jumping and the Scientology; I still think the best movie he ever did was "Risky Business").

Okay, I ramble. Did you see "Swingtown," and what didja think? I loved the music(Kripke, bring back our tunes!), and ohGod, the clothes! The hair! Diet Tab(EECH!)!! Shag carpets and ugly kitchens!

But ohh, Grant Show. He is so, so smarmy and horribly seductive with that porn star 'stache and those ghastly polyester shirts...

Holy cow, you really do! LOL! I'm guilty of reading and watching TV in bed, but I do generally try and turn the lights off at a pretty consistent hour. Thankfully I slept well last night so I'm hoping my brief bout with insomnia is over!

Saw your post on the "SN" Newsletter. I saw the play four times in three days. LOL! My friend's said that I was nuts. But, I didn't care. In my humble opinion, each and every performance that he gave was different from the one before and better in so many ways.

I'm like you, I SO hope that he does more stuff on stage. He was just phenomenal in this. He was also VERY sweet in person. He was staying at our hotel and a few of my friends met him before Friday night's performance and he was very sweet and very charming to the both of them.

Oh gosh, yes. When he came out on Saturday night we were told he only had like, 10 minutes, but even though it was getting past 11pm, he stayed until every single person had an autograph. What a sweetheart!

He totally nailed it and I have told anyone who would listen that was his best performance that I saw. Glad that I'm not the only one who thought so.
