Garett Maggart on CSI: Miami last night
May. 13th, 2008 09:13 amOk, so I was so stoked that I was going to see Garett back on TV again after so long, that I couldn't wait for CSI last night.
And wow...that was totally and completely underwhelming. [sigh]
I mean, I knew going in what kind of character that Garett was going to be playing, but come on! Three seconds into the show and Bang! And for 2.5 seconds of it, he was entirely obscured by smoke! Then we get a one second pan up his body that at least was clear and you could see his face.
Next time we see him, it's just the back of him from his in-car surveilence camera. [sigh]
The next and final time we see him, five minutes before the show ends, Garett gets his big scene - about 30 seconds of dialogue. And that scene was filmed so horribly with terrible lighting and a gritty texture to everything, it made Garett look terrible! Garett is a handsome man, but they made him look 10 years older by how they filmed that.
I was just hoping for so much more. I was so happy that he comes back to tv after so long and lands a part on CSI, but it left me terribly disappointed.
I hope that Garett going out for this part means he's got the acting bug again and that he'll actively pursue other things, because he's a WAY better actor than what was shown last night.
It was still good to see you, Garett, but I wanted to see a whole lot more!

Date: 2008-05-13 03:35 pm (UTC)But really -- I cannot stand CSI: Miami, for the simple fact that Caruso is a terrible actor. The man can't deliver a line with his head held up straight; maybe his ego has made him top-heavy or he's got a weak stalk of a neck, because he always turns his head to the side when he talks. Drives. Me. NUTS. Garret is hands over fists a better actor -- why isn't HE the star of his own show?!
I'm also hoping this means he's ready to get back into the limelight, though. I miss him so much.

yeah, our baby's all growed up! *sniff* :)
Yeah, no more baby Blair with the long curls. :-)

The strange thing is that I used to watch Miami for the first two years, only because I liked Caruso. I ended up hating the rest of the cast so much I stopped watching. But wow, when I watched it Monday night, I couldn't believe how bad Caruso had gotten!

ROTFL! It's true! And him doing that has gotten so much worse since the first couple of seasons!

I've been asking myself that since Sentinel ended.

God, me, too. It's fabulous that we've seen Richard near constantly since TS ended, but poor Garett just fell off the map.

It's too bad he's not in Vancouver, he'd make an excellent former Myths and Legends prefessor of Sam's who is a ManWolf (since they already RUINED werewolves FAIL FAIL FAIL!). I wonder who could play his gay lover, the cop who is a ManJaguar?
You should SO write this, btw ;)

I wonder who could play his gay lover, the cop who is a ManJaguar?
I love it even more!!
You should SO write this, btw ;)
Oh god, don't give me any ideas. I'm still trying to get your "Dean buys Sam clothes" story done. The whole thing is completely outlined! Why can't I actually start writing it?? Argh!

Did you see Richard on Reaper tonight? Hilarious!
I had to record it so I'll watch it tonight, but I've only heard great things about it!
I still always hope that somehow the two of them will end up working together again sometime!
My god, that would be freaking amazing!

Very true! He's a great actor, no matter how small the part. :-)
