Well holy cow, where did the weekend go? I guess it was lost in the blur of work, work, work to get all of my merchandise ready to sell at Media West next week. Spent the majority of both Saturday and Sunday getting things printed and priced and boxed up and I'm nearly finished. Which is a good thing, considering I only have a week left to get everything done!

Hope all you mom's out there had a great Mother's Day, including those of you like me, whose "children" are furry and have four feet. :-) My two girls, Mandy and Chloe, gave me a pair of lightweight hiking boots (for my upcoming trip to Yosemite) and a new wallet (which I desperately needed). Then the hubby took me to dinner (where the food was great but the service sucked, so I complained to the manager and got $$ taken off the bill).

Ended the night playing with my new electronic toy, the Sony eBook Reader (http://www.abt.com/product/30964.html), which my gov't stimulus check bought me. :-) This thing is awesome! I'm not one who can sit at a computer and read, be it my desktop unit or my laptop. I'm just not comfortable sitting at a desk or with a computer perched on my lap that gets hot and heavy. So I print out all my stories, which ends up using a ton of ink and paper.

The eBook Reader is a great compromise between reading on a computer and printing everything out. Not only can you read on it, but it's also an .mp3 player and you can also upload photos to it. The interface is very easy to use to upload files. I highly recommend it!

Hey, if you guys have a minute, can you send some good thoughts to my best friend, [livejournal.com profile] charityflint? She's going through some very rough times right now, and I hate it that there's nothing I can do for her, to fix things. I feel so helpless, but at least I can send positive thoughts her way, to let her know she's got a support system here.

Ok, well, better go and get this week started...

I'm so sorry to hear that, of course I'll keep you both in my thoughts and try and send her some special vibes and virtual hugs.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. She's suffered quite a few losses, one right after another, so good thoughts are definitely needed. :-)

Hey, Happy Mother's Day! Sounds like you got a great haul!

I've e-mailed [livejournal.com profile] charityflint and my thoughts are with her.

The e-book reader sounds great!

Yeah, it was pretty good! What about your furry children? Did they get you anything? :-)

I've e-mailed charityflint and my thoughts are with her.

Among other things, her step-mother passed away this morning, so thanks for sending her a note, I know she'll really appreciate it. [[hugs]]

Hey Barb, I'm sending you a comfort song in hopes it will help your friend. It's written by a Duluth songwriter named Sara Thomsen and she wrote it for a friend that was going through similarly tough times. This is the link to her music page, the song is Holy Angels and the mp3 file is about halfway down the page.

I love you, my friend.

I opened up my email this afternoon and saw a couple of notes from folks on LJ and just couldn't place them. I realized what you must have done and just had to come over here and see for myself.

You are the most thoughtful, wonderful, beautiful friend I have. You have no idea how touched I've been by the lovely notes from people who just want to make me feel a little better. You know how upset I am, and the little unexpected notes of support have made me smile. Thank you so very, very much.

Because I hate being so cryptic, I feel comfortable telling all of your Flist--My incredibly brave and dearly loved stepmother passed away this morning. I miss her tremendously, but know her pain and suffering is finally over.

I love you, my friend.

And I love YOU and I wish I could fix everything that's been happening to you and your friends and family and make it all better, but I can't and I hate it. So the least I could do was let you know that there are a lot of people out here thinking about you, sending their love and support.

I wish you were here so I could just give you a hug.

I'm glad we're going to Media next week, so you can get away from everything for five days and be surrounded by your friends and smile and laugh.

Call me when you can, let me know how things are going down there.

Love and hugs,
Barb
