Well, at least we are back to being the number 2 scripted show on the CW. Though why does it feel like someone just copied last week's results? I mean, to get two weeks in a row 2.53 mil. and 1.0/3 demo is rather weird.

Also, according to this post in the sam_dean comm (http://community.livejournal.com/dean_sam/4324254.html), last week, we went up to 2.63 mil. in the finals, though I didn't find it anywhere else :(

ETA: Ah, found the link: TV by the Numbers (http://tvbythenumbers.com/2007/11/18/supernatural-ratings-2007-2008/1814).

Hey, thank you for this! The programming insider never did put up the final numbers and I couldn't find them anywhere. I'd never heard of TV by the Numbers, so I'll be sure to check there if PI doesn't have them.

Nice to see we went up!

It is nice. And 100 000 viewers too! That never happened before, IIRC.

Barb, the TV by the Numbers site is great, and the guy who writes it has become a big SPN fan. I really like the site because it also reports the timeshifted data (includes people who watch the show within a week instead of just w/n 24 hours), though you have to wait weeks for it. But SPN really goes up when you figure people who watch it on DVR during the next week. I checked the 3rd season shows beginning with the Christmas ep:

A Very Supernatural Christmas went from 3.02 million to 3.37 million
Malleus Maleficarum went from 2.95 million to 3.33 million
Dream a Little Dream of Me went from 2.68 million to 3.10 million
Mystery Spot went from 2.97 million to 3.41 million
Jus in Bello went from 3.23 million to 3.59 million

I'm looking forward to the DVR+7 numbers for the other new eps - I think we will get the ones for GF next week.

Nice to see we went up!
Amen. And Travis Yanan at the PI site reported that the final numbers for Time is on My Side were 2.545 million (2.55 if you round it to 2 decimal points!), so it went up a little also.

Awesome! The more SPN fans in the media the better!

Hey, was that you who posted yesterday, asking for the SPN numbers? I see you haven't gotten a reply yet.

But SPN really goes up when you figure people who watch it on DVR during the next week

I'm definitely not surprised by that, considering the competition it's up against on Thursday - most people tape it to watch later.

Thanks for all those numbers!

Hey, it's a little bump but we'll take it!

LOL! Why am I not surprised that you loved last night's ep? :-) Poor charityflint sat on my couch with her eyes closed most of the time! Then my hubby snuck up and scared the crap outta her. Ha!

Oh man! I woulda loved to watch that with you gals! Truly, it was a spectacle of gorish delights. I little quiet and a little dry, but oh well--network TV.

Okay, I did majorly squick about the eye stuff, but other than that, awesome ep.

I'm kinda behind on my squeeing, so this is gonna be a semi-longie...

Okay, "Long Distance Call." LOVED hearing JDM again, even if he was a fakeJohn. Really interesting how Dean and Sam fell back into their relationship roles with John. Loved the angst and the 'moment's over, have a brew' coda. And the noose was really tightening around Dean, the Deal is coming up and he's truly scared. The ep was heart-rending as well as scary, because who hasn't lost someone they'd want to talk to just once more? (The shot of the girl's mother in the mirror was creepy beyond words.)

And shallow of me, I know, but: BLACK SUITS. Cheap they may have been, but ohh, I love to see our boys in black!

"Time Is On My Side"--jeez, where to start... that exorcism right at the start, and Sam doing Latin? (Yum. AND scary). Billy Drago was a badass. He was funny-scary in "Brisco County," but when he's in full creep mode, like in X-Files' "Theef" and this one, he can make every hair on your body stand on end. (Agh, pulling his head straight after Sam runs him over!)Just for sheer, flat-out gore, "Time" beats "Home" by a mile.

And Steven Williams--"21 Jumpstreet"! "X-Files!" Shoot, "Blues Brothers!" His scenes with Jensen were hilarious and chilling, what SPN's best at. When he says there's no happy endings, does he mean that if Dean survives, this is how he'll end up--alone and friendless, with a headful of supernatural horrors in his head? Or is he hinting at something worse? (Almost hope so.)

And yes, I damn freakin' CHEERED--Bela is gone(yes, I know other LJers have pointed out that she didn't get chewed up by the hellhounds--damn--but let me dream, ok?)And the guys punk'd her with sex dolls(I want to see some fic about those, heh). The abuse backstory did not redeem her in my eyes. I don't think the demon was a crossroads demon, just one who somehow homed in on her helplessness and pain and exploited it. The backstory could have been done better, revealed a bit at a time over the past few eps instead of being rushed through all at once. Usually I trust Lady Sera, but this is just another example of how bad an idea Bela was. No offense to all Bela haters (of which I'm one), but really, Lauren Cohan did all that she could with a character that was badly conceived from the start.

Okay, "Rising Son..." Yep, the non Dustin Nguyen-cover stinks. But inside! The art is way superior to "Origins"--you can see everyone's faces, for one. Liked seeing John's thoughts, his guilt and pain over his hunting and how it's affecting his boys. Loved the contrast on how he saves the town from a beast, and then loses his job. It looks like Sammy will soon be the 'chubby 12-year-old' he talks about in the Pilot--poor little guy uses food for comfort. Nice nod to the show, as well as the panel with babes when John tells Dean "you gotta learn to enjoy the scenery once in a while." (That's when I started thinking, hey, there's a lot more women than men in this town...) Very good effort over all, and I'm definitely looking forward to the next issue.

Now I'm going to interrupt my usual SPN squee for "Swingtown." Not only because it's set in a Chicago suburb in the 70s, but it's got Grant Show! (Happy happy joy joy!) Love how CBS is calling it A SERIOUS DRAMA and sex has really nothing to do with the plot, even though the promos are full of softcore swapping--I know I'm not gonna get to see Grant's ass like in "Dirt," but I can hope! Seeing people doing the Hustle and guys in leisure suits are going to burn my retinas, but Grant is wearing a mustache that makes him look sooo deliciously sleazy...

Ok, think I'm done for now. Got to stock up on tissue for next week!

Okay, "Long Distance Call." LOVED hearing JDM again, even if he was a fakeJohn.

Me, too! Oh how I wish it could've really been John. [sigh]

Really interesting how Dean and Sam fell back into their relationship roles with John.

Yeah, boy, that didn't take long, did it? Dean instantly obeys and Sam instantly questions.

Loved the angst and the 'moment's over, have a brew' coda.

The coda was great! "Me, too?" "Do you want a poem?" "Moment's over". LOL! Ah, so typically Winchester. :-)

The ep was heart-rending as well as scary, because who hasn't lost someone they'd want to talk to just once more?

Exactly. My heart was breaking for Dean the entire episode.

And shallow of me, I know, but: BLACK SUITS. Cheap they may have been, but ohh, I love to see our boys in black!

They've been doing the suit thing a lot this season!

"Time Is On My Side"--jeez, where to start... that exorcism right at the start, and Sam doing Latin? (Yum. AND scary)

I LOVED how Sam just rattled off the exorcism, totally emotionless. Yikes!

Billy Drago was a badass.

That man creeped me the hell out! With his stitched up face - gross! LOL! But I did laugh at the head-straightening thing after Sam runs him over. :-)

And Steven Williams

I never liked him as Mr. X in X-Files, but as Rufus he was great.

When he says there's no happy endings, does he mean that if Dean survives, this is how he'll end up--alone and friendless, with a headful of supernatural horrors in his head? Or is he hinting at something worse? (Almost hope so.)

I'm thinking that he means the alone and friendless, which, unfortunately, is how I think most hunters end up after they "retire." Sad life they lead. :-(

And yes, I damn freakin' CHEERED--Bela is gone

The ONLY reason I watched the episode in the first place!

And the guys punk'd her with sex dolls(I want to see some fic about those, heh)

LOL! I totally laughed when she pulled down the covers. I was expecting just bunched up pillows but sex dolls?? Too freaking funny!! And yeah, where's the fic??

I don't think the demon was a crossroads demon, just one who somehow homed in on her helplessness and pain and exploited it.

Hmm...interesting thought.

Usually I trust Lady Sera, but this is just another example of how bad an idea Bela was.

Exactly. They had NO idea what to do with that character and it showed. Painfully.

But inside! The art is way superior to "Origins"--you can see everyone's faces, for one.

While I'm not thrilled with the inside art still, yes, it's a vast improvement over Origins for sure!

It looks like Sammy will soon be the 'chubby 12-year-old' he talks about in the Pilot--poor little guy uses food for comfort

Oh man, I didn't even think of it that way!

Nice nod to the show, as well as the panel with babes when John tells Dean "you gotta learn to enjoy the scenery once in a while."

Yeah, John's starting his boy off early, eh? :-)

Very good effort over all, and I'm definitely looking forward to the next issue.

I am, too, especially with the way this one ended.

Now I'm going to interrupt my usual SPN squee for "Swingtown." Not only because it's set in a Chicago suburb

I didn't know that it was set here! Cool!

but it's got Grant Show! (Happy happy joy joy!)

No way! Man, I don't remember seeing him in any of the commercials! He's one good looking guy. Hey did you ever see him in Point Pleasant as the bad guy? Creepy and sexy!

Ok, think I'm done for now. Got to stock up on tissue for next week!

I am SO scared for this episode!! And my buddy Charity is down in Florida, so I've got to watch it alone. :-(

Oh, I love "PP." Wouldn't it have been great to see our working-class boys up against Grant's uptown slink??
