Ouch.

What happened? SPN had pretty good exposure the last few weeks from the TVGuide, EW and such.

I know! Totally disappointing. :-( I'm wondering if because Sam and Dean weren't in it for awhile at the beginning, people thought it was still Reaper on in SPN's spot and changed the channel. :-(

That's probably it; it didn't look like SPN the first few minutes.

I hope next week the ratings are back to normal.

Yeah, this was going to be a love it or hate it episode, that's for sure. But still, I was hoping for some nice ratings, for it's first ep back after the strike. :-(

I think that it was a very bad choice to use this sort of ep right after the strike. They should have either canned it totally or move it to next season. After a two months hiatus, there should have been an ep with a HUGE impact. This one didn't even feel like SPN.

But maybe Kripke chose it that way on purpose. They filmed it because it was cheap and finished fast so that they could concentrate on the rest?

I finally had a chance to watch it over the weekend and I have to agree with you. It just didn't feel like an ep of SPN to me. Parts were funny, yeah, like the bleeped cursing (hee!) but the camera stuff gave me a headache and I just really wanted more Sam and Dean in it.

And the best part from the script sides never made it into the episode, where Dean talks about John, so that was a total bummer for me. :-(

I understand why they did this ep, since it was already written before the writer's strike, but it would've fit better before the strike, since I was hoping for a better ep to come back to after all these months.

On the other hand, the ratings were so awful that maybe it was better that they didn't use an important ep? I still don't understand what happened with the ratings. I mean, that's a re-run ratings for us. And even if you added the 300.000 viewers from the Chicago area, it would have still barely breached 2.50 mil. viewers. AND the ep is still not yet posted on iTunes. Did everybody decide to just pretend that the ep never happened? O.o

That's a good point! I really don't understand what happened, either. I mean, I thought that it was fairly well advertised that SPN was returning on the 24th. Did people think that after 10 minutes with no Sam and Dean that it wasn't SPN? They thought Reaper was still on in SPN's place and they turned it off?

I don't think so. The ep began at 2.38 mil., then dropped to 2.04 mil. So, few people watched it from the beginning :(
