Gonna be an "off" kinda day

I'm feeling kinda outta sorts today.

I think it's because I'm still trying to get back into the rhythm of things after having been sick for a solid week.

I mean, I missed everything while I was laying in bed, the main things being reports from both conventions that Jensen and Jared were at. There's just no way possible for me to try and read back an entire week's worth of my f-list, so I have no idea what was said at any of the panels, haven't seen any photos...[sigh] It totally sucks.

Then a couple of other things are irritating me.

Last night I watched Shadow and seeing once again how well the writers handled Meg, what a great character she turned out to be made me so mad all over again that after that success, we're suddenly saddled with two utterly useless bimbos this year that have completely ruined this entire season for me. I miss my show, goddammit. I miss how good it used to be and I want these girls gone so I can go back to watching it next year. (And please, don't get into an argument with me. You like the two of them, fine. I have no problem with that. Just don't tell me that I have to as well)

And then there's the Friday the 13th and My Bloody Valentine movies for Jensen and Jared. I want to know why the minute I say that I don't like horror movies it automatically means I'm slamming Jensen and Jared. WTF? One statement has nothing to do with the other! And I'm tired of defending myself. Just because I won't watch horror movies does NOT mean I'm not happy for either of them getting movie work. Would I rather they be in a genre of film that I would watch? Yes, of course, but the more exposure they get the better, and I hope it leads to more movies for the both of them. So get off my back, people.

Yeah, can you tell I'm a bit off today?

You know, I like horror movies, but i think it's hard to have a very good one on screen. Usually they are lame.

I am worried for the choices they make, but I hope they can get more exposure.

Me, too! I mean, for a tiny actress, she pulled off being a demon beautifully. And they knew how to use her! In small, very effective doses. Not like ramming Ruby down our throats constantly.

As for the horror movie thing, yeah. I don't like horror films at all. The truly creepy ones (the psychological thrillers) because I don't like to be scared (I watched the first 14 eps through my fingers! *g*). The 'slasher flicks' I just find silly. (And annoying, when the girl is screaming screaming screaming and ohmyGOD, just shut up and DIE ALREADY *g*) Anyway! That said, I am all for Jared and Jensen doing whatever movies they think are good choices for themselves. And heaven help me, I'll probably watch them, for the guys. Because I do love them that much, and I'm happy for whatever films they do.

If I knew I wouldn't feel horribly guilty for doing any writing that isn't big bang or sweet charity, I'd do you a little ficlet. Who knows, I may still. *g* But I hope you feel better, honey. *hugs*

You would think that was apparent, but I guess not. I swear, people in this fandom get entirely too protective of the boys sometimes and take everything as a personal attack against them. I miss the show too. In the first season, EVERY episode was good, so good that it's difficult to pick just one as a favorite. The second season, there were a handful of bad episodes, but there was something good about the majority, although there were only a few standout favorites. This season? A handful of good episodes, with drawbacks to each one. I want to be as excited about season four as I was about season one. But Kripke and co (and I don't count Jared and Jensen and Kim among that grouping) are not making it easy.

Yep, absolutely. Even Route 666, my least favorite, still had several moments in it that gets me to watch it over a few times.

and Ruby is as subtle as a jackhammer. The good news is that Kripke has acknowledged that Bela was a mistake and hopefully we won't see her next season. Unfortunately, he is enamoured with Ruby so we are stuck with her.

I actually saw My Bloody Valentine *cough* when it was in a local theater's roll call for a Halloween slash fest. I was pretty young but that movie totally freaked me out. Of course I also adore horror movies (though I loathe torture porn) so, if possible, I'll probably watch both actors' endeavors in the theaters. My hubby will probably stay at home with the baby. He still hasn't forgiven me for tricking him to watch 28 Days Later. I told him it was a medical thriller. Hee...

I believe he survives but I can't be sure because my eyes were closed for long durations. The killer was dressed up in full mining gear complete with gas mask and hard hat. His choice of weapon was a pick-axe and that thing was just nasty!
