Morning, guys! So, did you all have a good Easter? Anybody get something really cool? Like Jensen and/or Jared in your basket? ;-) With just the hubby and I, things were quiet, but nice. He gave me a giant chocolate egg and a cute bunny cake from our favorite bakery. Yum! Then he made pasta carbonara, salad and garlic breadsticks for dinner. Double yum!
Oh, thank you
mickeym for the virtual chocolate bunnies!
And THIS is the other virtual bunny I snuggled up with last night:

Yes, that's Young Jared in Cry Wolf. What a cutie!
I just do NOT do horror movies. Blood and guts splashing across a screen for two hours is not my idea of a good time. But since I seem to be the only person on the planet that hasn't seen Cry Wolf, a friend of mine bought it for me last week. I've been putting off watching it because of the aforementioned blood and guts, but I wasn't doing anything last night, so I popped it in, trying to prepare myself for the gore of a stupid teenage horror flick.
But you know what?
I really LIKED this movie! LOL! The blood and guts I was expecting really never happened. It was more about scaring people than anything else.
Jared wasn't in it enough for me *g* but I thought he was great in the parts he was in. And I even admit to going back and slo-mo-ing the part where he whips off his hoodie, then pulls down his white wife beater to show off his chest. Hee! I loved that they made his character, Tom, from Texas! I loved the part where he picks up what they think is Randall's tongue ring, covered in blood, and Tom licks his fingers! The look Jared gives when he tastes it is hysterical! LOL!
I really liked the main kid who played Owen. What a cutie! And his British accent was to die for (Gary Cole's fake accent on the other hand made me cringe). I also really liked the girl who played Dodger. I know her from something else but I can't place it.
Why did no one tell me that Jon Bon Jovi was in this movie????
So as the movie's going along I'm sure I've figured out who the bad guy is, and at the end I'm like "Ah HA! I was right!" - only to be proved completely wrong with the final scene between Owen and Dodger.
DAMN, but that movie had more twists and turns than I could count! For a teenage horror flick I was actually impressed by how intricate the plot turned out to be.
So yeah, thumbs up for Cry Wolf! But thumbs down for the extras on the DVD. Why in the world was Jared's the only screen test NOT shown?? I'm waiting and waiting and...nothing. Big bummer!
You guys that have seen it - did you like movie?
P.S. - I'm horribly behind in replying back to comments, sorry! I'm not ignoring you, promise!
Oh, thank you

Date: 2008-03-25 01:19 pm (UTC)Ha! No way! We have strange choices in Easter viewing, don't we? :-)
Jared looks all young and chubby in this movie and he's so adorable!
He was very, very cute in this, playing the rich jock. And yeah, Sandy was adorable as well. *g*

Date: 2008-03-24 04:09 pm (UTC)Hey, where's the picture of Jared and Jensen (the second one down) from? I've never seen that one before.

Date: 2008-03-25 01:28 pm (UTC)The pic is a manip of a photo of the two of them with a fan. They were standing next to one another, just not that close. :-)

I know! It's a good thing I liked Owen or I might have been bored with not enough Jared. *g*

Date: 2008-03-24 05:20 pm (UTC)I have owned this movie for a few years now (I immediately bought everything with Jared in it after getting hooked on the show after the pilot :-) and I like it too. I wish he was the lead though - as cute ad the actor who played Owen was, I would have loved that to have been Jared's role.

Date: 2008-03-25 01:31 pm (UTC)Oh, gotcha! That totally makes sense, then. Thanks for the info!

That would've been awesome. Jared could've totally carried that movie as the lead.

Date: 2008-03-24 05:53 pm (UTC)Aw, c'mon! That stuff is awesome!
Okay, yes, I'm a gore hound. I love buckets of blood and viscera splattered across my movie screen. Yeah, I'm weird. You're surprised?
I thought Cry Wolf was…okay. Overall, the movie was kinda meh, but there were some really good twists. And that ending? Made it all worthwhile

Date: 2008-03-25 01:35 pm (UTC)LOL! No, I'm not! Just remind me never to go to the movies with you. ;-)
And that ending? Made it all worthwhile
Wasn't that totally fabulous?? My mouth was just kinda hanging open there as the truth finally came out. Awesome twist!

Date: 2008-03-24 06:15 pm (UTC)Have you listened to the commentary yet? The writer/directors say a couple of nice things about Jared. For instance, they didn't want to audition him, I can't remember if they say why, but whatever excuse they give it's just to cover up that thay're obviously idiots. But his agent kept after them. So when they did finally audition him, he totally won them over! (OF COURSE!) He put a sense of humor into Tom, whom they say on paper was just a typical jock.
I liked Cry_Wolf too. What did you think of Sandy? I liked her in this much more than in SPN. I don't know if she was nervous about SPN, or the weird contacts were throwing her off or what, but she seems much more natural in Cry_Wolf to me.

Date: 2008-03-25 01:42 pm (UTC)Yep, that was my main thing, since I already knew Jared's fate and knew that was safe. I just didn't want to see all the gore I was expecting to be there.
Have you listened to the commentary yet?
Actually, no, I haven't. Interesting that they didn't want to even audition him! I'm glad his agent was persistent! And yeah, I never got the impression that Tom was just some dumb jock, so kudos to Jared for improving upon the character description.
What did you think of Sandy?
[looks around nervously] I'll probably be shot for saying this, but...as an actress I just don't care for Sandy. I just don't think she's very good. Then or now. I'm sure she's a lovely person, but as an actress she leaves me cold. [shrugs]

Date: 2008-03-26 09:41 am (UTC)As far as Sandy, I'm certainly not gonna shoot you! *LOL* I think that's probably a common opinion.

Whew! I was sure I was in the minority. :-)

Date: 2008-03-24 07:29 pm (UTC)I did watch House of Wax a week or so since it was on TV so I TiVo'd. Unfortunately, the goriest stuff was with Jared, so I ended up watching it, and kind of wish I hadn't. Paris Hilton got (killed) off easy in this film compared to Jared, if you ask me :(

Date: 2008-03-25 01:45 pm (UTC)I know! They're SO not my kind of movie, either. At least Cry Wolf had an ending that made sense, unlike Devour! LOL!
But Cry_Wolf surprised me, it was more thriller than horror
Yes, it was much more thriller, which was fine by me!
However, I can't believe you watched it AT NIGHT.
LOL! Yep, by the time the movie got over it was around 10:30 pm. :-)
I did watch House of Wax a week or so since it was on TV
See, now I only wanted to watch Cry Wolf because I knew what Jared's fate was, and since I also know what his fate is in HoW, there is NO way I'm watching that one! Nasty!

Date: 2008-03-25 01:51 pm (UTC)LOL! The Jensen and Jared horror movie bookends!
it was more of a mind games tale, and it didn't all fall apart at the end like "Devour" did
Exactly! I loved all the twists and turns and trying to figure out who was doing what, and the ending rocked compared to Devour, that's for sure!
Sure wish it had a LOT more of Jared
Gosh, me, too! I think he could've been the lead in this and done a fantastic job.

Date: 2008-03-24 10:24 pm (UTC)downloadmovie sitting around here for ages but I haven't watched it yet. But I saw Flight Of The Phoenix with Jared the other day and figured I really needed to catch up on my Jared filmography so I really must watch it one of these days! :)(no subject)
Date: 2008-03-25 01:54 pm (UTC)Oh, go for it! I think you'll enjoy it, too.
But I saw Flight Of The Phoenix with Jared the other day
See, I'm avoiding that and House of Wax because I prefer Jared to actually survive. :-)

Date: 2008-03-25 11:28 am (UTC)I'm glad you liked it. I personally LOVED it. :D
And SANDYYYYYY, yay!

Date: 2008-03-25 01:55 pm (UTC)Well Randall implied right off the bat that there was something going on with those two. ;-)
I'm glad you liked it. I personally LOVED it
Yes, it was really good! I'm very glad I was pleasantly surprised by it. *g*

Date: 2008-03-28 07:27 am (UTC)I *hated* HoW - I fast forwarded through all the scenes Jared wasn't in, and when Jared's character got killed, I stopped watching and sent the movie back. Blech. Don't know how it ends, don't care.
Loved Flight of the Phoenix, however, because I love Giovanni Ribisi. So even though our boy dies quickly (and I thought really lame-ly) it is an interesting movie and worth seeing. The reveal at the end is a gut-punch.
Devour? Um, yeah. What?

Date: 2008-03-28 03:24 pm (UTC)I totally agree. I'll take mind games and scares over blood and guts any day. And Jared was a cutie. :-)
I *hated* HoW - I fast forwarded through all the scenes Jared wasn't in, and when Jared's character got killed
See, that's why I won't even watch HoW. I knew Jared's character died and I just didn't want to see it! Same with Flight of the Phoenix, but that movie sounded like it least had a plot. *g* I might check it out based on what you said!
Devour? Um, yeah. What?
Oh god, don't even go there! LOL!
