A new week - a fresh start
Mar. 3rd, 2008 11:40 amWow, you just can't seem to shut me up today, can you? :-) Actually, since Saturday! Which means that yes, I'm feeling much, much better this week.
My weekend was busy but not hectic, allowing me to shake off whatever it was that was getting me so down last week, by getting out of the house and doing some things.
Jensen's birthday definitely helped, too, as Saturday was filled with squee and pics and fic all about my favorite actor, and you can't not smile when your flist is filled with all of those kinds of goodies. :-)
I want to thank all of you who sent hugs and good words to me on Friday, at the height of my strange depression. That really, really helped me and I love you all. ♥

Date: 2008-03-03 08:24 pm (UTC)Without wishing to drag you down again - as I feel sure that your feeling low was based in no small part on this - I cannot believe you had to pull a post from your LJ expressing your love for your current fandom or did I read that wrong? No need to go in to details but people never cease to amaze do they!
You are usually such a positive, upbeat individual so I was sorry to read you were below par and glad to read you are doing better.

As for the post I had to pull - I read an interview by an author who has written one Supernatural tv tie-in novel and is in the process of writing a second one. The author was blasted by much of our fandom for bad characterizations and not even getting the appearance of the characters right in the first novel.
In this recent interview he gave, he was very nasty to us SPN fans, saying he doesn't care what we think. Basically he's mad that he was called on his mistakes and now his panties are in a twist and he's acting like a child.
So I called him to task on his remarks and I got people fired up about what he said - there's no way we're buying another book from him. I mean, he really shot himself in the foot by pissing of the people who would buy his stuff!
Anyway, he has an LJ, too, and he found my post. He refused to comment on what I wrote about him, but instead took issue with a comment someone else left, calling it slander. He then continued to act like a child and sent all of his friends over to my LJ, crying foul with this other person's comment to my entry. It got so bad I had to remove the post because I was tired of it all.
If it was MY post he was taking issue with, I would've fired right back, but because he didn't like what someone else had to say, I didn't feel right jumping in on the middle of it, you know?
He should've acted like an adult, and contacted this other person via email, or myself via email, and just asked us to remove this comment and it would've been over and done with. But instead he threw a temper tantrum. I guess he doesn't realize this painted him in an even worse light to SPN fans.
I hated to remove the entire post, since I want people to know what a low opinion he has of SPN fans, but he went entirely crazy.
Gosh, are you sorry you asked? LOL!

Date: 2008-03-04 02:18 am (UTC)I wonder what his publisher would think of that kind of behavior? Not very professional...
Anyway, glad you're feeling better, and that things are looking up! Lots of excellent Supernatural stuff going down in the last 24 hours or so to make us all happy!

Date: 2008-03-04 06:04 pm (UTC)Tell me about it! The man is an immature child. Several people want me to get a campaign started where we tear our copies of Nevermore in half and send half to the publisher with a note expressing why we're doing it. I'm thinking it's not a bad idea!
