[snickers with you] And here Dawn was SO confident that her baby here was going to be the next big hit for CW. Ha!

Still, that's almost 3 million

True, true. But our ratings last season were, for the most part, better than three million, so I always worry if it dips below that. [sigh]

Can I ask how they figure out who is watching what live vs tivo'd or recorded? :-)

I really don't know how it's done. The only thing I know is that they compute that data 3 days and 7 days after the initial airing, but I've never been able to find a site that posts the adjusted ratings.

I'm sure that the ratings would have been better but in the Maryland area, for the entire area of Baltimore broadcasting, the show didn't come on until after 11pm because of college basketball. I don't know if any other station was running the game before the show came on.

Yeah, I heard about the late showing and what I hate is that ratings for showings outside the normal airing are never computed. :-(

I hope TPTB take notice that is is the third lowest rated episode of the season and correctly attribute it to the total lack of interest in Ruby's backstory.

Man, we can only hope! At least Eric admitted his mistake with Red Sky and it's horrible ratings - too much Bela! Hell, any Bela is too much for me. But you already knew that. :-)

I just came here looking for fic (just reread "Touched by Darkness," btw -- and it's still wonderful) and saw that you posted this week's ratings. As a former VM diehard who fretted about the ratings every week, it's refreshing/reassuring to see SPN staying around the 3mil mark. My question is about "Reaper," tho. Was that a rerun, or are they showing new eps of that show? The hubs and I watch SPN and Reaper (the few shows we *do* watch together), but it seems like I saw the last new ep before xmas. Of course, my TiVo could've spaced on Reaper's season pass like it did with Chuck.

I'm an SPN girl all the way, and I'm NOT happy about them replacing the Winchester boys with Sam, Sock & Co. in about a month, even if I do like Reaper. Don't mess with my boys, Dawn! (My icon is aimed at her.)

(Oh, and thanks so much for compiling the ratings for us!)

Ohh, I agree on "Touched By Darkness"--for me, it's Spooky's best tale to date.

Thank you so much! That's my favorite non-AU RPS story I've written. :-)

My apologies. It was indeed a rerun and I neglected to note it as such. I've gone back and fixed that.

I'm right there with ya!

You're very welcome!

My thoughts on "MM"(SPOILERS AHEAD!)

Overall, I'd give this ep and 8; it automatically lost a point because of you-know-who. But in many ways, for me, it surpasses "Sin City", and raises a lot of interesting questions. Unlike "SC"'s talking heads--good vs. evil debates, this ep showed that some people and not only easily corrupted, but eagerly corrupt themselves: a woman has an affair with a married man, and when he ends it, the woman takes revenge on the man's wife. There's something very female about the woman wanting to disfigure the wife (which I think was her true intent). I'd give the ep a half-point by not making the coven out-and-out seductresses, but I would have preferred that the women had been a little less upscale, or that they would have wanted to use witchcraft to solve worse problems--an abusive husband, for instance. Glad to see that Dean recognized the herbs in the wife's garden, and not Sam. And it was very interesting to see how, somehow, the boys are slowly trading places--and how that seems to upset Dean. Is he afraid that Sam's changing means that there is truly something wrong with Sam, and he is going darkside?

I definitely loved Dean's faceoff with Ruby--'black-eyed skank' was my favorite. And Sam busting in on the coven with the gun. AND Dean's 'get in line, bitch' when Ruby breaks into the hotel room(nobody uses a doorknob in this ep!); even spitting blood and on his hands and knees, Dean doesn't beg to NOBODY.

The most chilling thing about the ep was the demon's "who did you think you were praying to?" This scene alone, for me, beat most of "SC" to Hell(hee...)...and her telling Sam "you're not our Messiah, we don't believe in you"? Wonderful. Beautifully done.

And as for Ruby and The Big Reveal about her? Sorry, no...I kept thinking if Nikki Aycox had played Ruby, this ep would have blown the roof off.

Still, Dean is burdened (is he?)with another terrible secret...that Sam can't save him, and Ruby lied about that. And next week, Dean has demon eyes...can't wait!

P.S: I put "Red Sky At Morning" on my iPod. (I am having a real love-hate with this thing; my sis gave it to me for a Xmas present and for that reason alone it's not going in the trash, but I'll tell you, I've been tempted. Still learning my way around it.) So now I've got the boys in tuxes wherever I go.

Super woot!!!

After the advice from my buddy Charity, I ended up just watching the first half hour with just the boys. :-)

Overall, I'd give this ep and 8; it automatically lost a point because of you-know-who

You're too generous! I'd have knocked off about five points because of the useless bimbo.

or that they would have wanted to use witchcraft to solve worse problems

Oh, that would've been good. But I guess they just wanted to show these women as kinda airheads, concerned only with winning craft fairs and lower mortgage rates.

Glad to see that Dean recognized the herbs in the wife's garden, and not Sam

YES! Thank you for NOT making Dean an idiot for one, brief shining moment, like he's been all freaking season!

Is he afraid that Sam's changing means that there is truly something wrong with Sam, and he is going darkside?

I definitely think that's part of it. And I think it saddens him to see Sam turning so hardened, further losing whatever innocence or normality that Sam had before Dean came to get him at Stanford.

And as for Ruby and The Big Reveal about her? Sorry, no...I kept thinking if Nikki Aycox had played Ruby, this ep would have blown the roof off.

Oh how I miss Nikki!

And next week, Dean has demon eyes...can't wait!

Stupid, freaking Bela is going to ruin that one for me as well, but if she's only in one scene or so, perhaps I can fast forward past her, because this ep sounds really good.
