I've been nominated for a Huggy Award!

I just found out this morning that the Huggy Awards ballot for ZebraCon had been posted, and I nearly fell off my chair when I saw my own name for Sentinel fandom. :-)

This is an extra special Huggy Awards this year because it's the final year for ZebraCon. So the organizers have made it a Hall of Fame award, to recognize those in Sentinel, Pros and Starsky and Hutch fandom who have made significant contributions to those fandoms over the years. See why I was thrilled and honored to see my name on the ballot? :-)

If you're interested in voting, you do NOT have to be a member of ZebraCon. You can simply email your choices to: zconchair@aol.com, no later than September 11th

I wish they'd included your efforts to get the show renewed and to get it released on DVD though.

Yeah, I wish they had, too, since they listed Moonridge for Aly, etc. But hey, I'm just really thrilled to even be on that list!

Just to clarify things - the "accomplishments" listed on the ballot were never meant to be all-encompassing (many of the people nominated are strangers to me anyway, so I would have no way of knowing about everything they've done). What was listed on the ballot was exactly what people were nominated for, so IOW, the people who nominated you did so for your work as an artist and an author. There was certainly no intention to denigrate any of your other accomplishments!

That's pretty cool! I only just now discovered ZebraCon - so that's kind of sad. Found it just as it's ending. Have never been to a slash convention. Heard about it from a dealer at the Star Trek convention in Vegas last week.

Oh no! You find it in time for the very last one. That's SO sad! I've been going to ZCon for years. It's the most organized, well run con of any I've ever been to, and it's right in my own backyard here in Chicago, so I'm definitely going to miss it.
