Catching up
Jul. 26th, 2016 05:10 amWell I did it again, disappeared for a few days. But this time it wasn't anything bad! Thankfully. :-) Just busy, as always.
I'm still hard at work on my new book, Rogue Soldier. I joined Camp NaNoWriMo as an incentive to meet my word count goal and get the book completed by the end of the month. I'm happy to report that as of Friday I met my 40,000 word goal! BUT - the story isn't finished yet! I'm expecting it to top out around 45,000 so I'm still pushing hard to get it completed by next Monday. Wish me luck!
Been to the theater a few times, too. I saw:
• Undrafted - the feel good underdog summertime baseball movie with my Strike Back guy, Philip Winchester. Philip didn't have a huge part but it was nice to see him on the big screen and his last scene was so awesome.
• The Secret Life of Pets - I'm not one for animated movies, but being a pet lover I checked this one out. Really, really cute! Gidget the dog was my favorite. She was hysterical! And the Minion short ahead of the film was funny, too.
• Star Trek: Beyond - OMG SO FREAKING AWESOME! It was so much better than Into Darkness. It was action pretty much from start to finish. So many great Easter eggs in there for long time fans. It was bittersweet though because of Leonard Nemoy's passing and Anton's recent heartbreaking death as well. But the movie itself had a great plot, lots of humor and Simon Pegg should be made to write every movie going forward. :-)
Spent most of the weekend trying to keep up with everything on Twitter, etc about what was going on at Comic Con. Mainly about Prison Break, Blindspot and Supernatural. Surprisingly enough, I was able to find both the Blindspot and Supernatural Comic Con TV Guide covers at Barnes and Noble on Friday. Score!

Been having more difficulty with Doorstep Desserts, that Groupon deal I got two weeks ago. My advice - stay away from this company. Terrible customer service, their product is crap (the same ingredients over and over) and the instructions they give to make the desserts tell you to use things they've haven't given you. I have two more free ones to go (since they screwed up my first order) and then I'm done with these people.
It's been SO freaking hot here with humidity levels so high it's hard to breathe when you go outside. I'm absolutely loving my new convertible but haven't been able to put the top down for the last two days because of the heat. I was afraid I'd spontaneously combust! LOL!
I guess that's it from me for now. How are all of YOU? :-)
