Well I did it again, disappeared for a few days. But this time it wasn't anything bad! Thankfully. :-) Just busy, as always.

I'm still hard at work on my new book, Rogue Soldier. I joined Camp NaNoWriMo as an incentive to meet my word count goal and get the book completed by the end of the month. I'm happy to report that as of Friday I met my 40,000 word goal! BUT - the story isn't finished yet! I'm expecting it to top out around 45,000 so I'm still pushing hard to get it completed by next Monday. Wish me luck!

Been to the theater a few times, too. I saw:

• Undrafted - the feel good underdog summertime baseball movie with my Strike Back guy, Philip Winchester. Philip didn't have a huge part but it was nice to see him on the big screen and his last scene was so awesome.

• The Secret Life of Pets - I'm not one for animated movies, but being a pet lover I checked this one out. Really, really cute! Gidget the dog was my favorite. She was hysterical! And the Minion short ahead of the film was funny, too.

• Star Trek: Beyond - OMG SO FREAKING AWESOME! It was so much better than Into Darkness. It was action pretty much from start to finish. So many great Easter eggs in there for long time fans. It was bittersweet though because of Leonard Nemoy's passing and Anton's recent heartbreaking death as well. But the movie itself had a great plot, lots of humor and Simon Pegg should be made to write every movie going forward. :-)

Spent most of the weekend trying to keep up with everything on Twitter, etc about what was going on at Comic Con. Mainly about Prison Break, Blindspot and Supernatural. Surprisingly enough, I was able to find both the Blindspot and Supernatural Comic Con TV Guide covers at Barnes and Noble on Friday. Score!

Been having more difficulty with Doorstep Desserts, that Groupon deal I got two weeks ago. My advice - stay away from this company. Terrible customer service, their product is crap (the same ingredients over and over) and the instructions they give to make the desserts tell you to use things they've haven't given you. I have two more free ones to go (since they screwed up my first order) and then I'm done with these people.

It's been SO freaking hot here with humidity levels so high it's hard to breathe when you go outside. I'm absolutely loving my new convertible but haven't been able to put the top down for the last two days because of the heat. I was afraid I'd spontaneously combust! LOL!

I guess that's it from me for now. How are all of YOU? :-)

I mostly want to see Undrafted for Aaron Tveit :D

I'm going to watch Star Trek Beyond tomorrow with my father! I just finished rewatching the first one and maybe will watch Into Darkness tomorrow, but I'm not so sure about that yet lol

The warm weather here is no fun either. I'm just happy it's cloudy today.

Aaron is great in Undrafted. Definitely see it if you can!

Did you get to see ST: Beyond? Would love to hear what you thought about it. Funny you mention the other two. One of our cable TV stations has been playing them both back to back for several evenings so I got to watch them both before seeing Beyond. Worked out great!

I watched Into Darkness a couple of hours before Beyond!

I really liked the new movie, all the action was amazing. The Sabotage scene was great and the opening was super funny :D
Some things were a little frustrating though, like Bones rescuing Kirk at the end. Did he never try to land? Why is he suddenly such a good pilot?
They always talked about this great weapon and then its power is only really demonstrated once, on one person lol

Yay! I'm glad you liked Beyond, too! I had to laugh because I said the same thing to my friend as we were watching "Why is Bones still flying around in that thing??"

OMG, the opening - I think that was their nod to the Tribbles with those little things. And then at the end, one of them was on the leash! Ha!

I agree about the weapon. They should've showed a flashback or something with the original aliens creating it, using it, etc.

But overall I loved it!

I just saw Planet of the Apes, the original in the movies. It's fun watching the old movies on the big screen. Mothra is the next old movie.

Oh yeah, I saw a preview for the Kevin Spacey one - Nine Lives I think it's called. Looks hilarious!

Can I confess I've never seen any of the Planet of the Apes movies? [hides face in shame]

It's good to hear from you.
That's cool you got those covers. I think the Supernatural one looks very grand - I love it.
It's been really hot here too. Probably not as hot as you've had but hot for the U.K, lol.
It's been especially humid at night and I've found it hard to sleep.
They say our weather will be cooling down soon. :)

I was so excited I found both of those TV Guide covers at the first place I went. Normally it's like a scavenger hunt all around town!

Even though it's hot here, I really feel for you guys since I know that air conditioning in homes is pretty rare in the UK. Try your best to stay cool!

Sounds as if you are going great guns on your book.
I totally agree with you about Star Trek Beyond. I loved this movie and it was much better than the first two. Lot of plot holes, but the great interaction among the characters was enough that I didn't care. Just enjoyed it. I also saw Ghostbusters and it turned out to be great. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I would recommend it for great escapism. Not much like the original, but that is best.
Just got out of the hospital which happened suddenly. When you are immunosuppressed, you are suseptible to everything. Worst part was had to cancel my first two week vacation road trip in two years. Ah well at least it didn't hit me when I was on my travels.

Yep, my new book is going really well! Looks like now it might top out around 50,000 which would be awesome.

You hit the nail on the head about ST: Beyond - the character interaction. That was the best part. The dialogue was so spot on, whether it be serious or funny. Loved it and I'll be seeing it again soon.

I'm kind of on the fence about seeing Ghostbusters, so thanks for your review!

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to hear you were in the hospital and that you had to cancel your vacation. :-( I'm glad you're home and on the mend. You take care of yourself!

The TV Guides look awesome. :) I'm sorry to hear about the dessert place. What a racket. And that humidity must be horrible, if you can't have your top down. The top of your car. Everyone get your minds out of the gutter. LOL Hopefully next week will be much better. I know it's going to be raining here for about a week long. We hate humidity. When it gets to 50%, we panic and run to the emergency room. LOL Seriously, we don't like it at all. But it doesn't get as bad as back in the midwest. I'm from Iowa, you would think I could stand it, ya know? LOL

Have a great tomorrow.

The dessert place just got even worse! Get an email from them last night saying, "We're sorry, we forgot to put the instructions in your next box. Here's a download link." WTH?? So I download it and the instruction numbers go "3, 4, 5, 8, 8, 9" I kid you not! ARGH!

Yes, I'd like my top down as much as possible but it's just not happening right now and I'm not happy! LOL!

It's definitely the humidity here. Heck, I'd love for it to only be 50%. Monday it was like, 68%. Totally insane. We're supposed to get rain at some point today and hopefully that'll finally cool things down for a day or so. Fingers crossed!
