An awesome book series you're probably not reading, but should be

Hey all!

I wanted to take a minute to plug a fabulous LGBTQ young adult series I just finished over the weekend. It's called the Torch Keeper series by Steven Dos Santos. The books are: The Culling, The Sowing and The Raising. I'm sure there are other YA series out there with gay main characters, but this was new to me and I was just so impressed with how Steven wrote this love story between these two young men amidst a terrible war.

The series is along the same lines as The Hunger Games and Divergent - dystopian and post-apocalyptic. But a word of warning - these books are brutal. The amount of young people who die horrible, violent deaths is staggering. So if you're the least bit squeamish, these books will not be for you. But if you can get past the deaths, the story of Lucian and Digory will pull you in and keep you hooked until the very last word of the final book, rooting for them to finally find their happy ending.

I encourage you all to give the books a try and support Steven and his LGBTQ work, especially in this important young adult genre.
