agt_spooky: (X-Files)

Well for once Chicago was spared a massive winter storm and it all headed out East and we didn't get one single flake. I do feel sorry for everyone in New York and New Jersey. I know what a pain all that snow can be.

We actually had a pretty mild weekend, so John and I got out and ran a bunch of errands on Saturday. And it's a good thing I insisted on going into our credit union in person and not calling back for a third time like John wanted me to. I hate talking on the phone. I much prefer dealing with people in person. Turns out this woman I'd been dealing with repeatedly on the phone about an issue I was having had NO idea what she was even talking about. The woman I talked to in person was like, "I'm sorry, she's completely wrong." Argh! She took care of the issue in about five minutes and everything is straightened out now. John admitted I was right not wanting to call back again. :-)

We went to a new place for lunch, an Italian place. We ended up having some very good panini's and fried green beans. If we're in the area again we'll definitely go back.

Went to Target next where we saw some drama happening outside the store as we pulled up - two undercover security guards tackling a shoplifter, while the man's wife and small child looked on. You seriously do this in front of your family?? What a great thing to teach your daughter! The store must've called the police as soon as they noticed something suspicious about him because the squad car showed up right after they caught him outside.

Sunday was a lazy day, doing laundry, watching TV (I'm liking Legends of Tomorrow but ended up dumping both Shadowhunters and Colony for being extremely boring) and reading a new book from cover to cover.

But the BEST thing that happened over the weekend was the The X-Files was back on TV! Woot!! AgtSpooky lives again! Though I was so irritated they put it on after the stupid, useless football game, delaying it by a half hour. Grrr…. Some of us have to be up at 4:45 am for work! So yeah, I was dragging my butt a bit this morning but it was so worth it!

I thought it was very interesting that Chris Carter took the previous 9 year long mythology of the original series and turned it on its ear, reinventing the series a bit. I LOVED that they used the original opening credits and this time finally included Mitch Pileggi. While I enjoyed seeing Mulder and Scully again tremendously, I'm more excited for the next four episodes which will all be Monster of the Week ones before getting back to the "new" mythology in the last episode.

Did any of you watch X-Files? What did you think? And how was YOUR weekend?
